    Why the hell did you pick 17s; you missed out on a chance to put those factory 15in Lego wheels on. I will never understand these show pony type shops…

      If you watch and listen to the video, the customer originally wanted to match the wheels on his other truck which were Fuel Rebels, only available in 17s. Once we found out they would not work, the customer opted to stay with the same tires and get the new wheels still in 17s.

    Had a 89 4x4 HB I bought new in 88. Loved the truck, but definitely not an offroader. Modded and on 35's. I constantly had issues with all the inner metal panels under the hood & core support breaking at the spot welds or the panels cracking from off road use. Hope the guy isnt too serious about off roading it.

    Damn, I love it!
    I actually wanna do something similar, wanna put those exact rims in a 17x8 configuration, 245/70 R17 BFG trail terrains, lift my truck a little bit (just enough for it to sit level and allow full tire clearance in all directions). Oh, and lights, 6 in the roof, a pair of fog lights, a pair of A pillar / hood flood lights and some chase lights.
    And I also have other hardbody proyect, but it is a singlecab flatbed and I wanna go dually with 17" wheels and the exact same tires.
    Any advice would be nice, as well as any nice looking 17x8 wheels for dually that will fit

    • @UltimateTruckOffRoad
      @UltimateTruckOffRoad  Před 2 lety

      Dually would definitely be tough. Would depend on what the bolt pattern would be on that. To be honest, there is not a ton that is specific to this truck. Majority of what your talking about doing would be a lot of trial and error for fitment.

    • @69sound81
      @69sound81 Před 2 lety

      @@UltimateTruckOffRoad it is a 6x139.7mm bolt pattern and a 100mm hub center bore. Bolt pattern aint the problem, it was preety commonly used by Toyota, Nissan, GM, etc. The thing is the hub center bore, it is very large and quite hard to ding something like that.
      Would you advice to find wheels with the right designd, size and bolt pattern and just send them to get the hub center bore machined to the right spec? I mean, sound good, but I'm sure you can give me a better answer to it.
      Or maybe you guys can find the wheels

    • @UltimateTruckOffRoad
      @UltimateTruckOffRoad  Před 2 lety +1

      @@69sound81 Sorry, I thought you were talking about the dually set up. But yeah, it'll be a common bolt pattern and hub bore will be an issue for options. We ran into that with this exact truck. Some wheels will be super close to working, and some wont. Just have to watch what you get. I would not recommend having the center machined out, it could hurt the structural integrity of the wheel itself.

    • @69sound81
      @69sound81 Před 2 lety

      @@UltimateTruckOffRoad yes, I was talking about dually setup. But with or without it the center bore is an issue anyways. And thanks, I had exactly that doubt about machining. The structural integrity is the one I am most worri3d about with that Idea. But in the last days I've found a couple Ideas, some people run a structural spacer to fit the dually setup, so maybe it is my best bet to go that route. I'm planning to machine the spacers with a profesional machining shop in a steel alloy and have it done with a more common center bore lip so I can find a dually set of wheels more easily. Maybe even in a different bolt spacing

  • @omarramirez2335
    @omarramirez2335 Před rokem

    For 2wd trucks what is available to lift them I haven’t found anything for them
    Was thinking of starting with doing an over axle leaf by flipping them but noticed the leaf mounts are welded to axle figured that would at least lift it the thickness of the leaf and axle housing
    But what would be done upfront
    I don’t want to do a body lift have had bad experiences before with them
