  • Short how-to on feeding baby parrots. Feeding baby chicks is fairly simple to accomplish but things can go wrong and knowing what to do in those circumstances takes experience.
I Just wanted to show the different feeding methods that can be used. I find each species prefer different feeding methods.
Caiques prefer both syringe and spoon but can be messy
    Senegals prefer syringe
    Kakariki prefer syringe
These little Senegal chicks are fairly easy to feed at this stage and require frequent feedings. Although, can become picky close to weaning (9+ weeks) which is expected.

Parrots are amazing creatures but before getting one prepared to have them for life. Many parrots have life spans similar to that of a human. An they are difficult to rehome as they imprint on few people and because parrot rescues are often at full capacity due to people not prepared for the level of commitment or they sadly outlive their owners. But they are worth it if you're willing to put in the work.
