    I have both bikes and actually riding K3+ the peddling is more comfortable as it is lighter in weight and with 9 speeds. Shifting speed won't have any specific feeling to my legs and I can easily keep the 9th speed for long distance. While riding Brompton I can only use 2+ and sometimes 3- gear, seldom use 3+ as too heavy for me. But for longer distance riding, with Brompton is more comfortable since it's steel frame that absorb better vibration and usually riding at a gentle gear ratios with 2- and 2+. I will use K3+ for 1 hour speed training while use Brompton for city travel and relax tour.

      I have got a Brompton already but these days I’ve been thinking about a Giant folding bike for the family members. Someone mentioned DAHON and I had no idea about this folding bike. Thanks to your wonderful comparisons, now I am well determined to get a DAHON for the easy cruise around the busy streets. So helpful of this video to have me know how to make up my mind for the 2nd folding bike. With my best regards!

    i also have both bike.. Brompton is more comfortable for long ride cycling. K3 is only for short distances.. and you can carry heavy staff on brompton.(like camera gears). k3 cannot.

    I have a K3+ myself and love it. One complaint is that the magnetic holders don’t really work that great and the bike has a tendency to unfold when carrying by hand. Also pushing the bike folded isn’t great coz you can only push forward, else the pedal will move and strike the frame. Never ridden a Brompton, but do aspire to buy one someday (when I have enough money).

    I choose a K3 plus because it is a third of the price... But the fendes, the ability to wheel along while folded (if not packed in a bag as required at least in swiss railways), the lights and rack are great advantages of the brompton... for the same price, I would have choosen the brompton. That said, the K3 plus is great and I really like riding it, but you need battery lights, aftermarked fenders if you want ot ride in rain in normal clothes and so on.

    • @ilovecycling6306
      @ilovecycling6306  Před rokem

      Yeah...after riding years,I would said I use k3 more because of Brompton inner tube replacement is more complicated than k3 plus quick release. I'm going to convert my Brompton to external gear soon to Cater this weakness

  • @user-ww9ld6ke4t
    @user-ww9ld6ke4t Před 2 lety +5

    B(i have one) is missing one great essence as a bicycle, and ppl never consider it serious which is weight. B weighs like 13kg(ofc for 6speed which makes you travel and do something can be called riding), and that makes B just a townbike for dropping by grocery store.(DON'T TELL ME IT'S GREAT FOR TRAVELING, U BROMMY-LOVELIARS) This justify (about more than 90% of) B as a bike of serious lack.
    I commutes using my bikes like Ori(CR 1.0), Black Momba(full-carboned I assembled), Fsir 14(this is Dahon Dove type and it is way faster and lighter than B), Fsir16....
    But only Brompton makes me worried that I could be late for the time in the mid of going to my company, and it makes me sweaty.
    For folding which is the only(?) good point for B, I would give a bad score. u'd definitely think "ah! this guy just hates Bromp.. " Nope, yes, but no just hear me out.
    When I got my company building, there are lots of ppl waiting elevaters(we have 4 of em on the 1st floor), there, what I do is getting in the line first and shoulda fold my bike asap.
    you know even tho u r quite used to folding B, remember my friend, your folding speed never catch up any other folding mechanism in the world. Believe me! I need time every morninig.
    Then u'd go in the elevater, yes! finally B time! Yup I wouldn't deny in the elevater, my B does her work fine, BUT(!) other folding bikes just fine like B. Maybe in your car trunk, u would say Broms do greater, but in the elevaters? hmm... not reallly...
    So, as a result for my commuting, all my B gives me is sweaty happy morning.
    At this point, every B user needs their B lighter and better at any point.
    Yes! Tunning! at last...
    I'm making my B outer 7/8speed type, above all lighter(make me think it is a bike usable plz!)
    Now, alot of money's gone.

    I've been riding this bike for about a month czcams.com/users/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
