Please name ONE Toyota dealer that would offer 8.5% discount on a Highlander, I would love to give them my business. I am in Massachusetts just like you, but I am willing to travel for the right deal. Personally, I don't think you'll find that anywhere, but I will be glad to be wrong.
I bought a 2024 Grand highlander XLE at McGee Dudley for 4,500 off sticker price. They gave me 3,500 off MSRP and got 1000 off financing. Sticker was 47,000 and I paid 42,500.
The frustration is that the info you are sharing is spot on - the reality is that the dealerships are doing everything to the contrary. I really think states like NY, NJ, and CT are just inherently greedy and do not want to budge at all on anything
In Pennsylvania, I went to 3 Toyota dealerships that all had market adjustments on the sticker. The sales guy said if you don't buy it, the guy behind you will.
There is a lot of dealers that have mark ups especially in California pleasington, Dublin , Fremont concord, San Francisco Hayward ,berkley , Richmond and San Jose
We’re in Nevada…. Traveled to Utah recently and purchased a PLATINUM GH Hybrid for $53,790(MSRP was $56k+). The deals are out there and it’s still very much a strong buyers market.
Yesterday, I had talked to a sales rep from Claremont Toyota in L.A. So, they told me they do not sell Grand Highlanders to Northern California residents now!!!!!!
In Colorado, I went to the local Toyota dealership. The sale man added $9,000 more to the MSRP with the XLE grand high lander, bringing the total to $55,000. He also gave me a 10% APR, even though my credit score is excellent. the dealer tried to scam me Lol, I won't accept that stupid deal.
I got myself a beautiful Grand Highlander Awd Hybrid xle with the bench seat and the panoramic sunroof in black. I have driven it ALOT and love it. I got it at MSRP and had to be on a waitlist for 2 months. In the end though, worth the price and I feel fortunate to have gotten it. Currently getting 30mpg combined. I traded up from a 2019 Traverse that was already paid off and the difference in gas basically covers half the assumed payments. ( I own it outright, but when I looked at financing it was around $600/mo) So really I figure the payments at $300;/mo with all the gas I am saving.
Brand new 2024 Honda CRV sells only for $20,000 USD, and brand new Hyundai Elantra sells only for $10,000 USD in China, Americans are ripped off by these makers😢😢😢😢
We were lucky. The first day we decided to shop around for a grand. There was only one in our state. It was a limited and had everything we wanted for the most part. So we bought it the very next day. That’s why I named the car lol.
Houston area. Got a quote for Hybrid Max limited MSRP$70k lol. Had $10k mark up. I said too expensive, take it off and mark up was taken off immediately. So I believe mark ups are there but since market is bit slower, they only left it there to apply it to people who doesn't know how to look at the detailed price. And few things-interior feels cheap can't tell if I can justify $50k price. IIHS crash test wasn't good. Seems to have few issues
Gas Highlanders are going for 11 - 12 percent off in California. Ut will work it's way across the country...the car market is changing and changing quickly. Wait until August and watch. It's not their court and it's not their ball anymore. Dealerships are dragging their heals but just be patient and they all will be on board by Fall of this year.
Grand Highlander hybrid platinum. 73K out the door here in MD. Complete ripoff. We decided to go for the non hybrid platinum for 13k less. Still waiting for it to come in.
Toyota dealers around me are arrogant as hell if you want a Sienna, Highlander, Grand highlander - MSRP PERIOD! No negotiating, none ($500 off sticker IF you finance which is NOTHING). Like another commenter said - salespeople straight out tell you - you don't take it someone else will. This dealer had 3 Siennas heading to their lot - ALL sold in transit, sight unseen. WAY different story if you go to a Chevy or Subaru dealer - they are hungry
Right? Outrageous insurance even at Progressive and Geico - Insurance rate quoted in this vid could NOT have included comprehensive - the prices this dude quoted are state mandatory minimum collision rates
I guess the Toyota dealers didn’t get the memo about MSRP. My local dealer has a 2024 Sienna, base model, on the lot with 10, 000 km on it and its selling for 15 grand over MSRP….and it will sell fast. In Canada btw.
Personally I think Toyota is making a huge mistake taking away these great 6 and 8 cylinder engines that made their vehicles the best in the business as far as quality and reliability. Replacing the V6 in the Highlander with a 4 cylinder turbo is a deal-breaker for me. How do you know how long they'll last? The V6 was a proven 3-400K mile SUV as long as you kept up on your oil changes and maintenance.
@@joelc9329 the TX500H is very luxurious on the inside so happy with it. Glad I didn’t get the Toyota. Also has a ton of power and drives a lot more sporty.

Which dealership did you end up at?
For gas models, it’s not unheard of getting 4K off of MSRP. Hybrid, not so much.
Last month I got the gas model Highlander Limited (not grand), $ 3700 off the real MSRP. I traded in my 2021 Venza.
People aren’t idiots paying those markups for the Hybrid. The roi over the equivalent gas model is like 10 years.
I waited for months for a limited or hybrid max, got fed up and bought a used 2022 mdx, and I LOVE IT! Snooze you lose Toyota. Maybe next time.
