She wore it at every auspicious occasion , now it is thread bear and I am determined to preserve it by transforming it into useful articles for the home for my grandchildren to cherish.. I had the opportunity of wearing it once.. Patola is such a valuable treasure.
Great video. One error is the claim that double Ikat is only woven in Patan. That is an error because both Sambalpur and pochampally weave double Ikat. Sambalpuri Bandha saris and Pochampally teliya rumal are very intricate double Ikats. In addition Japanese double Ikat (Kasuri) is extremely intricate and so precise that it almost looks like printed cloth.
Such videos shd b shared and circulated among interested ppl so dt more fresh talents and enterprnrs gt interested... These are our originality, our pride.. Our culture... if by any means the weavers can bring them into middle classed ppl's reach... There will bo no way of losing this holy craftmanship
Its all mental instability. Some youngesters think world's all problems are their personal problem and being rebellious is the intellectually higher way of life. They don't get it in their brain that if they wanted to change the world they should change first... It should start from their own home.
