Don't worry I live in this city just one street away from the sea and we are used to this it happens frequently and we protect the windows/doors as you can see on the video you just have to be careful when you go see it
I envy you ... unfortunately ST Malo is very crowded in Summer when I can take vacation ... will wait a few years then mb see it in spring and/or autumn

What they don't show you is low tide where the water is a mile from shore and you can walk out an pick the mussels off the beds. I love St Malo it's my dream to own a pension there and serve chips and egg to the limeys coming off the ferry.

Living by the coast myself the one obvious observation is that the sea is relatively calm with a moderate swell. Given a similar high tide, on shore wind and a winter storm I would expected significant structural damage.

They really should use a concave sea wall. And it doesn't take an expert to realise how vulnerable they are to sea level rise.
well actually i live there and we can't really put a wall since it's a beach it will blocked People from going to the beach and it's very touristic
@@skyhighope7617 I also have close connections to St Brieuc. The point is though...there is a sea wall, it is not designed right, they need to make the sea wall concave. And put a concave gate on that street that goes to the shore.
Or simply not build so close to the shoreline.

C est la marée tu peux rien faire ça été construit pendant une ère ou les riches partaient en vacances en ~1850 donc C étais beau ils ont construit leurs maison de vacances et PAF après ça fait une ville

Not at all but sometimes yes (5 or 6 time a year) of storm or high tide. I have lived there for 18 years and I never saw that with my own eyes. It's in the north west of France, called Saint-Malo. You can see Saint-Malo on my profil pic' with a good weather 😂
