Also love how Cody has that awkward antisocial mad scientist like socializing skills, I think he's been spending a little too much alone time in his lab with his science experiments he occupies himself way too well 😂 People like him though are probably the smartest people I have ever met though because they spend all there time learning instead of socializing. In return they have terrible social skills but are smart af because they occupy themselves by constantly fulfilling there own curiosity. If you think about it, there is literally not a single thing Cody doesn't know how to do but it all came at a price that ended up being totally worth it.

    • @FlaminTubbyToast
      @FlaminTubbyToast Před 6 lety

      normalguy821 well yes... but if you control for temperature volume and a singular molecule type then it would be interesting to see sugar or fiber at .01 ATM or less.
      I mean that alone would be the same thing as increasing the temperature 100 fold.

    • @calohtar
      @calohtar Před 6 lety +5

      normalguy821 Melting (and phase change in general) is a physical reaction, not a chemical reaction. You are not breaking any bonds. The individual molecules stay the same - you're simply increasing the distance between them.
      Wood, however, is not made of individual molecules. It is a polymer, which means the molecules are bonded to each other. If you add a lot of heat, they won't undergo a physical phase change, they will simply chemically react into a new compound.

      think hard, what do you expect to happen? Because Im 99% sure that your assumption was: "It would cool down/freeze" and that is exactly what happens.

    Yum, mercury vapors. When you lower the pressure in the tube of mercury it gets more volatile and more goes right into your chest...

    • @HighFidelityFox
      @HighFidelityFox Před 6 lety

      Tryder pure mercury/vapor aren't toxic. Mercury salts are toxic.

    • @carlrobinrydbergh5534
      @carlrobinrydbergh5534 Před 6 lety +3

      Pure mercury is not toxic if it stays OUTSIDE your body. When you inhale the vapors the mercury gets absorbed into the mucous membranes in your lungs locking it into the body. The mercury then eventually further reacts to produce toxic organic salts that are harmful to the brain and that the body cannot get rid off due the fact that mercury salts tend to be fat-soluble. Do not be naive when it comes to mercury, it should be handled with caution.

      cody did test the amount of mercury in his blood before(and he said he'll do again in the future). the last time he did, the amount of mercury in his body was perfectly in the normal levels. lead was a little on the high side but still considered normal.
      And thats after sticking his bare hand into mercury. He does work with mercury a lot.
      I don't think the next test will be any different. elemental mercury does not dissolve into the body very well.

    • @carlrobinrydbergh5534
      @carlrobinrydbergh5534 Před 6 lety +1

      Having your hand in liquid mercury is fine because its OUTSIDE your body and the skin tissue does not absorb the mercury. As long as you do not have any cuts on your hand of course or it will get into your body.
