He's a mindblowing drummer, but isn't really doing a whole lot in this tune other than keeping the beat. That said, I think restraint with drummers has become a lost art.

Zappa only ever worked with virtuoso guitarists, hand-selecting them (like Ozzy, like Alice), but Warren rarely gets the credit he deserves. I second that emotion @jason! I loved MP! I'm from Michigan where many awesome artists made their bones & soon after ... LEFT THE STATE? LOL WELL? Bob Seger didn't for one! But I loved HOW HARD MP's songs were? Kind of punched you right in the mouth sometimes? Like the band L7? Their catalog also ... punched hard! And lyrically? The track,"Words"? About people not listening to one another? Yeah... more relevant RIGHT NOW than it was back then? Weird? One could dare call that, "a Classic" & get away with it! It appears to be timeless? i just watched that debut clip the other day from that movie. What was the name? Anyway, what a performance and i agree they were an innovative, phenomenal act leading the New Wave scene.
Me too as a kid ❤ early 80s was the best can't never get enough even though I graduated in 1991 my favorite hit from Missing persons BLACK CONSERVATIVE OLD SCHOOL LOVER 1980-1988
Early 80s all the way! Early MTV and really cool New Wave Music that has stood the test of time. Not to mention some Legendary Bands from earlier Eras had some of their best songs (Who, Rolling Stones, Golden Earring).
Freaking beyond great. The embodiment of the entire SoCal early 80's scene. I was there. In Hollywood living at The Lido at Yucca & Wilcox just down from Fredrick's of Hollywood. The Fraz in the morning on KLOS...Funniest morning show ever.

Wasn't so easy in 1981 but as soon as I did, b-lined it to Warehouse ot Tower and secured the 4 track ep ... still have it, along with their full album releases ... absolutely love Missing Persons. Happy I got to see the original lineup back in '83 ... phenomenal! Thanks for posting this ... there's more Missing Persons stuff than I figured I would find here on CZcams ... love it! Loved since the beginning. Thanks for posting. now if I could only find this movie my life would be complete. Lunch Box-Truck-Wagon. Dale, Terry and Warren are incredible.
They remind me of the craziest times in the 80s with a petite gorgeous wild blonde. I never understood why they weren't bigger.. I lived the 80s. I was a drumner and lord the fun..Crazy and even dangerous...lol
Yes but in the movie they did not yet take the name missing persons they were called Terry and the ruff riders. ....... And the black and the white dude had absolutely nothing to do with this band they couldn't even fake it good. 😂😂😂😂
Wow you too? I couldn't believe it when I read your comment. I turned 20 in 82 and my 20's were an incredibly difficult time for me. Thanks I don't feel so alone now.
Missing Persons, in their prime, were one of the best, technically adept groups from the 80s. Although their style was different, I'd put them up there with Talk Talk.
This was a movie called lunch truck ? I think . I watched it on cable TV @ my sister's house when I was a kid and somehow it got me interested in classical and jazz music. Great band .

Halloween night, 1983 , second row from stage, Bronco Bowl in Dallas !!!!!! She wore silver spandex pants, and 2 clear plastic cups, with 2 small straps of fabric inside the cups, barely covering her AMAZING breasts !!!!! And the music was pretty amazing too !!!
The drums in this song are fucking sick. Bozzio is a beast.
He's a mindblowing drummer, but isn't really doing a whole lot in this tune other than keeping the beat. That said, I think restraint with drummers has become a lost art.
Terry Bozzio drumming on this song was awesome.
total understatement. these were the best.

Zappa’s “kids”:)
