Jinjiang - where Adidas and Nike based their China factories starting in the 1980s - dominates China’s production of sports shoes and trainers.
With a population of fewer than 2 million people, Jinjiang is home to as many as 5,000 shoe producers, employing one in every three local residents.
The county is home to three of China’s four largest sports shoes makers Anta, Xtep and 361 Degrees, all led by executives sharing the same surname.

I have a tropical illness resulting in swollen feet. I cut beach sandals from China on the top part of the shoes and put laces in. The soft rubber like compound called eva it is ideal. A pair last about 7 weeks. It cost about the same as two liters petrol. I walk with it 3 to 5 kilometers a day. It is wonderfull having shoes causing no pain. I am very very happy with it.

Thanks for the cool video. You mentioned there are over 5000 shoes companies in Jinjiang but only 3 big ones? That sounds like a lot of shoe companies. Are most of the 5000 shoe companies tiny operations with no brands or are they trying to compete with the 3 top guns (Anta, Xtep, 361)? Also, would love to learn more about the competitive dynamic between the 3 big guys.
