New Forgotten Pond Holds Massive PIKE!

- Well this session started off a bit slow. I went out in search of a hidden pond i discovered on google maps. After fighting my way through 20 yards of brambles i eventually got to the wild pond. It had hardly any access to fish, so i started off with the topwater in the hopes that might tempt a toothy predator from the margins, but nothing. After switching to a small handmade soft plastic bait thats when the session took a great turn!

As a pike fisherman myself it is awesome to get a good pike in a new water. I know of a small pond here in Scotland 10mins from my home and the pike are monsterous and so are the perch. My favourite type of fishing 🎣🎣🏴🏴
I've had a 4lb perch. 37 years ago. Still my best fish ever. In fact a woman won the drennen Cup with the same fish the same year.
we have a lot of hidden ponds here in Finland with monster pikes and perchs. My biggest perch was 1,7kg.
Gary have you ever fished the hidden big pond behind hamilton services just off the m74 ? Some fairly massive pike in there for it not being a big Loch caught quite a few big boys there on an orange and yellow 10cm lure spent a few hours and caught 10 pike in the one session
Used to fish for Pike in them hidden ponds at M74 around 20years ago lol.
Maybe need to give it a fish these days tho lol
Care to share the location in exchange for two large tubs of lurpak 👀 ?
Mate you're a true sportsman. Your respect for the fish puts other so-called anglers to shame.
Like these are just forgotten and no one fishes them. Incredible you can still go exploring and find things no one has seen for a long time. To me, this is what fishing is all about, getting out there no matter the weather, exploring and generally having a great time. Great video Chris!
heck yeah! catching something is awesome but to me, is just a bonus. all about the trip itself & the people you're with 😊
Pike are what got me into fishing I love them such a buzz. Haven’t been fishing for years but these videos are making my get everything out 😂
What a dummy no one fish for northern pike duh! there up north like Michigan Minnesota Wisconsin n Canada I know I just spent 3 months up there fishing for pike n muskie if your in the south there not there there cold water fish duh!
@@connermccloud2530 this video was filmed in England and your comment is so grammatically incorrect it’s difficult to read. Have a great day bud
@@connermccloud2530 does he sound or seem like he’s from your side of the water? DUH????? What an absolute fail, please sort your grammar out. DUHHHH
I fished all my life back in Essex, chasing Perch, chubb and Pike with my best Dave RIP. I've started watching your videos from Australia, they're fantastic to watch and bring back great memories. Thanks mate !!!
I really felt for you with that non-stop rain because everything from tying line to freeing the catch is more awkward but at the end of the day you deserved your fish - very nice examples too -for going the extra mile. Thanks
I've just started getting into fishing again after a good 20 odd year break and discovered your videos accidentally one day ...I must say how great they are and how much I've learnt from them , they keep me entertained when I'm in my gym . Keep up the good work 👍
Brings back memories of childhood, the fun is in the exploring and discovery as much as the fishing. The rain adds to the atmosphere
Seems like you're having a great year. It always impresses me how clean your ponds and rivers are. I'm 66yrs and live in Wisconsin which is a great fishing state. Your fishing always reminds me of my days looking for pike in our ponds that were once used for logging but haven't been fished for decades. Thanks so much for the great vids.
Mike from Wauwatosa WI USA
Totaly diferent vibe over here mate. British woodland is unique.. US is amazing 2.
There was a large piece of trash on the bank at his first fishing spot.
We've got some pretty dang big Pike and Muskie here in Michigan too, I'm packing up to head up north for a couple weeks and try my luck with them both.
I live just north of you in NW Ontario. One thing that always blows me away is seeing large pike in small channels and ponds in the U.K. Over here in Canada any river or pond that small has no fish really. Our winters are too brutal to allow fish to live there, never mind big fish. Cheers.
I get some decent pike here in the Kenosha county area
That pike had the head of a 25lb fish. Amazing 😎.
🤞 you can keep that place a secret
Well done Joe I to have enjoyed so many of your posts originally from Manchester but now down in Aus also in lockdown (Covid ) so you are keeping me well entertained and brings back great memories as when I fished my local ponds, many Thanks
That was bloody Awesome, it full filled all my needs as an armchair fisherman ! Excellent !
Growing up, I had two small lakes on my doorstep, which my dad and I used to fish. Both had Roach, Rudd, Perch, Tench, Eels, Crucian Carp and of course, Pike.
This was when you could still use live bait, so you’d catch half a dozen small Roach and then see if you could tempt one of the many pike, which ran up to around 20lbs.
Great place to spend a childhood.
What a great feeling! Especially on bike, from shore, and light tackle! Love it
Well done two wonderful Pike, nice to see them well handled and treated with respect.
I love these kinds of videos. These conditions are mostly what fishing is available to me. Heavy brush, bad weather, lots of trees. Great to see the perseverance and that it's often worth it! Back in the brush those fish are often not pressured and more responsive to a natural presentation. Great video!
What a cracking session, two absolute belters. Well done.
Fisherman: Expert Level. Great work! That's some challenging fishing!
Even though there was only 2 fish caught during this video, I think it has to be one of my favourites..a challenging area to fish around due to it being snag city and you bagged a couple of absolute brutes. That's fishing at it's finest, nicely done!
Cheers fella
I have been a game angler all my life mainly because the thought of putting my hands near a Pikes mouth scares the crap out off me so I take my hat off to you for your angling skills and tight lines.
your comment reminds me of the very first time I caught a pike. Never again 😆😆 They are so mean,
It is no shark
If you handle enough pike, you get cut, usually from the tiny teeth on the inside of their mouths, when you've got a good grip on them. But you know what? It's totally worth it. 🙂
Brings back fond memories of my youth, when my friends and I would go fishing for pike in a beaver pond close to my home. They were never this big, but they were abundant. Mom never let us bring them home. They were not that good eating; boney and tasted like mud. But we enjoyed our selves, and it was a Damm site better than being glued to some silly video game.
Now THAT’S dedication for you !
You not only caught great Pike but also some proper solitude away from the madding crowd.
Not easy to get these days !!
You carry on with the quality content like the last two vids, and this will become my go2 fishing channel when I get home from work . Really love this stye of fishing
Stunning outcome from an unknown pond, well done. The rain doesn't spoil our fishing for us Northerner's we're not made of Sugar👍😷👍
Well done that man. Just goes to show perseverance pays. Top fishing.
Absolutely love watching your videos.
Keep them coming!!!
Man , these videos are just epic , love to join you on a session just to experience the adventures… epic vids man , love them
I've lure fished a couple of decades around my local drains system and had two two doubles ever, and consider a session eventful if I even get one take or one follow! Catching a couple of jacks in the same session is a red letter day! I watch brilliant clips like this and think I must be bloody useless at the game!
No, you're not useless. As Dick Walker would say, in order to catch big fish you must fish where there are big fish. This Chris is very lucky finding two ponds that seemingly no one else knows about and they have some nice pike in them. You keep trying with different baits, fast and slow retrieve, up and down the water column, stick at it and you never know! I think he's very lucky indeed especially with the little streams.
Feel the same mate and agree with all you've said 👍
No the feeling pal 🙄🎣👍
I'm from the South of chris area the fishing not bad.
Some canals I can't catch anything in and also struggle on the trent.
Yet other local gravel pits I would be upset if I didn't have a busy morning.
I also have other canals that will produce loads of pike and zander with upper doubles pike and even 20lb pike.
Although I would sacrifice good fishing for CZcams videos. As his mate found his waters got a hammering and ruined his swims.
@@robertdenman153 yes mate same here some places are crawling with them.
Quality video mate, love the adventure side of that! Glad you managed to catch yourself two big’uns! Even better you took the bike 🚲🤟🏾
Well done Chris ,brilliant ! Great fish 👍🏻
Brilliant fish and a fantastic video. Well done and thanks for sharing.
You are a true fishermen on the hunt for pike , where ever it takes you 👍
Hats off to you fishing in that weather and amazing pike mate well done content is brilliant as always
Blimey feels like a good consistent uploading schedule going on here Ginge, top stuff as always.
Great job. I love the way you let them rest up before releasing.
You've done It again Chris In the Forgotten Ponds, What a couple of Beauties. Should bring your little boat next time, and a box full of Topwater different types. More to be had In there for sure.
Yes buddy. I'm thinking of heading back up there in winter when the fish a packing on weight and try and get a pb
i absolutely love your content! Another amazing video. You have inspired me to start my own channel as well. Thank you for everything!!
That's BEAUTIFUL Pike!!!! I'm 63 and I've only ever caught one on Lake Ontario in Canada when I was about 13 years old. Caught it. Cleaned it. Cooked it. And, of course, ATE IT!!!! The story behind it is CRAZY!!! I hadn't had any experience fishing before this catch. Was in the foster care system. The guardians took us (I was the only kid of color and the other guys were just young, dumb BIGOTS) camping at one of those KOA camp grounds. Woke up early in the morning; took the boat and went to the lake. It was early dawn and there was thick fog over the lake. I had set my rod between my legs and started rowing. Next thing I know my rod seems like it's gonna fly out. In my panic and fear I'd accidentally thrown one of the oars to grab my rod. When I regained my composure (as a first-time experience) I thought OUT LOUD that I was going to "drown" this fish for scaring me so bad. So I used the motor thinking I would drag this fish to death. Obviously, THAT didn't happen. I'll tell you the other part AFTER I finish watch your video.
Well...
i used to fish the st Lawrence river on the Canadian border back in the late 60's used to catch some huge musky and pike up there. great times indeed.
Great video and great tips all the way tru... Nice fish too can't wait for the next session
Nice technique hauling that big fish out by hand! Probably not recommended, but you clearly know how to do it. That is unbelievable how big those pike get.
You might try a Johnson Silver Minnow (1/2 oz might be good) in that type of water with all of the reeds. Worked very well for us up in Canada.
Great watch yet again dude! Lovely pike well in 👏
What a day and a find! It makes you wonder what is out there!
Fantastic catch. Frightened the life out of me when it came close to your hand 😳👍
Love your adventurous attitude. Keep up the good work . Another great video. Cheers Dave B .. Chichester
You are the best broo!! I love this video!!!! Extreme wild fishing!! Bravooo💪🎣
Niiiiiiiiiiiceee.... I was on the edge of my chair there.. What a great sesh... Amazing video, gotta get that little kick boat thing out there.
Very nice watching this will give any fisherman the fever !!!!!!!!
Propper bit of fishing loved watching that well done fella 👊
#this is real fishing. This is me down to the ground. So glad I found this channel.
When I was a lad we made a floating weed rake from an old garden rake, some pipe insulation and a of length rope, brilliant for these sort of overgrown ponds.
Cheers, mate, your catch made my evening!
I have a six inch curved blade that screws to the end of a net pole and it allows me to cut back hanging small branches and crop reeds etc. Definitely a must have in situations like this. Love the videos. 👍😎
Amazing angling! You should definitely head back here in January/February and try and catch them fish at full size!
Well done! Tremendous effort in all that rain paid off.
Great session mate, very enjoyable to watch
What a couples of beauties! There must be plenty of other fish in that pond for those pike to get to that size.
A couple of crackers! That first fish was in splendid condition! Great effort mate.
What a catch!
That I only catch in my wet dreams!😉
Congrats! Keep on uploading your fishing experience.
Thanks!
Big Respect for this Video. The Most Pikes will bait in Strange weather Situations. Greetings from Germany. I wish you all tight lines.
Great result! Good fish handling!

Great video and fabulous specimens. Well done.
M A S S I V E! I wish there were such ponds near me. Good job you thought about bringing strong braid!
Been watching your videos for a few weeks now always good videos 🙏
good hit ginge another great vid stunning fish.
Awesome! Great fish!
Great video as always, you should put the lottery on on stormy days, your luck never seems to run out 😁👍🎣. Keep up the good work, always enjoyable!
Wat a beautiful spot 😉 gorgeous clean pike......I'm hooked ☺️
2 cracking crocs buddy..great stuff again!...
All those reeds n undergrowth combined with the rain would leave me peeved off & heading for home. That’s probably why you’ve got fish & I haven’t. 😳😂🤣🐟🎣🇦🇺
Great video. Lovely pike from a gorgeous looking lake
FYI . When walking in the woods,I started carrying my rods (1 or 2 pieces)backwards.years ago. Doesn’t get hung on as many bushes ect. Carry all of them butt end forward now. Even when surf fishing on a beach with no bushes and trees. The barometric pressure drops when T’s raining, takes pressure off of fish swim bladders, turns on their appetite. That’s what I was told a long time ago anyway. Rain seems to turn them on for whatever reason. Imagine it knocks a lot of bugs down in the water too. Hey from NC. USA
Quality fish as usual! Would love to be as brave as you and have this my job! Matt Hayes and Brownie never made it this good 👍
Haven't fished properly for 10 years. This makes me want to tie a few traces and get out. Great video.
Awesome buddy… nice big pikes
Good to see that professional fish husbandry is being applied!!..
Fantastic, mate!
Top angler. That first swim looked tricky 🙂
Lovely fish.
Wow! Great work.
Nice video. When you spook a decent fish by stepping in the water, good start.
Stunning fish mate well done 👏
When facing obstacles I usually point my rod to the rear less chance of breakage and if you slip going downhill just toss it behind you I didn't learn this lesson without paying in poles storms on the Colorado reservoirs wind waves muddy strip off the bank big fish prowl the shorelines I haven't caught any but I've seen them so ii guess I try to get a lesson from you!
Bloody great vid love the pike fishing
Always exciting fishing places like that, who would have thought a small pond like that could harbour pike of that size.
I agree! Tiny pond and big Pike...Whaat?!
This is exactly what fishing is about 👍👍👍
7:50 thats defnitly the Boss Mama of the pond :D Nice Catch
Wowww really monster, absolutely amazing fish. Congrats. 👏👏👏
