Here’s my problem with sending the stronger competition home. When there are controversial eliminations like this it taints the crown regardless of who wins. Now which ever queen wins all they’ll hear is, “well if Manila wasn’t sent home” or “the only reason you won is because Manila was robbed”. Ask Trixie how many times she’s heard the names Shangela or Dela. That’s why I’m with Trinity on this. If I was on drag race I’d want to beat the best so no one could question my reign.

I agree. Because the longer the competition goes, the better the drag should be. With the stronger queens being eliminated early, we'll be left with scraps and we might end up with shitty performances and mediocre runways. That's why I'm not watching the rest of this season.
I agree 100%. And what's the point of winning if you have to knock out your toughest competition? Yeah you'll have the title and the crown and the money but did you really deserve it? Trinity has been playing a fair game and so if she wins I will be happy because she wants to beat the best to win. She's not insecure. Eliminating your competition might be considered smart to some people but I see it as insecure because only an insecure person would do something like that. Bianca helped other queens on her season because she wasn't afraid of them and she wasn't insecure and she still won with flying colors. I admire people who win that way. $100,000 can't buy you integrity.
I do still believe we should have the TOP TWO lip-sync for their legacy, BUT we have a BOTTOM 3 and the winner chooses someone of the 3 to save and the remaining two duke it out. That way you get the drama, the winners show off their stuff, and you have the fiery desperate memorable lip-sync for your life that people love from the bottom two.

I mean, alright, for AS5, it's too late, but let's make a petition for future seasons to feature this 😆 Like, it's gonna be SO lit, like, drama between the queen that wins the lsfyl and the queen that made her lip-sync, "fairness" since it's gonna be the 2 in the bottom lip-syncing and you get all them goodies you want from the lip sync for your legacy, that's it. It has to happen. I'm tired of people saying this and that about AS seasons, when I actually find 'em more entertaining than the regular ones and shit. Like, we HAVE to make it happen.

I agree, although Manila was a shoe in for the win, so was Bendela or Shangela in AS3. You can be disappointed, but people sending death threats over a competition, a *competition* with NO set or specific rules is disgusting. People are doing it to Naomi, they did it to Latrice last week, Trixie got backlash -- thdre are more pressing matters than throwing a giant tantrum over a queen not winning. Naomi played the game like the competition it's set up to be.

Manila was robbed but don't be mad at Naomi for this, be mad at the show's format. Winners lip syncing for their "legacy" isn't working out, and I prefer seeing the bottom two lip sync when their life is on the line.
I get how when the winner gets all the power that it would bring more drama and "spice things up", but for the sake of fairness to everyone involved I think this needs to change. I guess it's not supposed to be fair though, it's just a damn shame. Oh well.

It must be so frustrating to have won a challenge that you work so hard for and then have the actual burden of throwing someone out of the competition, it's great television but like this can really take a toll on the contestants mind and mental health.
They'll never do it that way. They are all stars now, which means they have crazy fans. When Valentina wasn't doing good they'd rather a fellow queen eliminate her than rupaul so he doesn't have to take the heat.

The worst part about Manila going home is that it’s going to be a cake walk for Trinity now. The competition is no longer as exciting or interesting.
If they do All Stars again, don't film it this year or maybe even next, give it time to BREATHE. And change the damn format. This one got stale during AS3

The problem with that strategy is that whoever is left at the end of the season is just mediocre if all the best competitors are out, so whoever wins is not the most deserving of winning, just someone who survived because they weren't good enough to be chopped off.
All stars seems a little meaningless tbh. Like the rules taint the crown for me. At the end you go in the hall of fame but why not crown the one who's earned the fame? Who's done the best?

I just genuinely do not see what else Latrice can bring to this competition I mean she has been given numerous chances and she still falls flat every time this whole season she has been kind of disappointing performance wise whereas with Manila she actually has been doing amazing and she's been so consistent and brings something fun and new each week I always looked forward to seeing what she was going to do next but she has one bad week and she goes home? It's not even about their scores at this point I just don't understand what else Latrice can do or how she can prove herself when she's been given so many damn chances already! Manila did not deserve to go over Latrice. I feel like if you are a comeback queen and you are in the bottom once after returning then you should go home because you've already been given your second chance to prove yourself and clearly it wasn't enough. The real T about being scared to send the strongest competitor home is how the fans will take it. RPDR can have a very toxic fanbase and while 100,000 is damn nice, it can be scary to be hated by the drag race community for playing dirty. However, this is the way All Stars is played. It isn't a normal season of Drag Race where the best queen is supposed to win, All Stars already assumes all the queens are the best, and it's supposed to be who plays the game the best. Fans have just been spoiled in AS2 and even AS3 where most of the decisions were made based on the concept of being "fair".
Basically, you can complain about Naomi played the game, but that's all she was doing was playing the game the way it was presented to her. Feel bad for Manila? Don't attack Naomi online, go buy some Manila merch or go see one of her shows. That's the best way to prove Manila is an All Star.

Also, they were talking about Monet's Judy lipsynch as very simple and muted and stoic, but what they missed what that she was capturing the essence of Judy Garland's later years. All the expressions, the mouth shapes, the lip trembles, the movements, it was all incredibly reminiscent of Judy, almost scarily and impeccably so. I do agree that Naomi did an incredible job, tho, that chaotic energy was mint.

This should not be Survivor. Drag Race is a show that should be about talent in your art-form, not strategy and being cut-throat.
The format needs to change, lip syncs for your life need to be the standard. It's no coincidence that some of the best lip syncs in all of All Stars were when they were for your LIFE (Tati vs Alyssa, Gia vs Naomi), not Trinity vs Latrice.
Anyway, Manila will be fine, just like Shangela was. Naomi, we'll see. The show is only hurting itself.

Literally Manilla has suggested doing the same thing a couple weeks back, and being that she was on top multiple times she had plenty of opportunities to do so. All Stars has this new elimination process for a reason. AS2 was riddled with these eliminations, Tatianna's elimination, Alyssa's second elimination, and even AS3 with Bendela eliminating herself, and the Jury. All Stars can go any way you want just as long as you eliminate the right queens.
omg i completely forgot about manila thinking about going with the shady strategy! rip tati bless her, it was so rigged against her. i get the appeal of it going any which way for entertainment‘s sake, but for “fairness” and a deserved winner’s sake it really sucks now. i kinda wish they’d shake things up so that this stupid strategy doesn’t ruin all stars.

If people truly didn't like the way queens are eliminated on All Stars, then they'd modify it, just like AS1 when nobody liked the idea of pairs. If everyone went based on track record or doing a sub-par job on the current challenge, then Ru could just go back to judging it herself. This is one of the easiest ways to "shake things up" because it gets people talking. Everyone would expect Manila to win the race if she wasn't eliminated and we would just have to wait to let it happen.

This is the first time that I have been watching the Drag Race and All-Stars seasons that I was stunned by a decision. Love Latrice but Manila just had one poor outfit out of a fabulous run. Latrice stated that she saved Manila but the Hive concept, implementation etc seems to have fallen to the side like used facial tissues. It is a lot of work.
For me, it was more about favoritism and getting rid of competition. Michelle's face is pretty much how many of us felt. If the comparison was close, I would not be writing anything.
Trinity said it best, about keeping the best and beating the best. The crown would be earned by the most talented.

Manilla was robbed! Latrice should've went home. But I still love naomi I just feel maurice absolutely should've went home and then whoever did the worse the next week because manilla didn't do anything wrong. Imo this was the best decision from a competition point of view. Latrice has gone home already, and to me, hasnt learned from it. Shes still turning sequin gowns so she isnt really that much of a threat so sending her home would have been a wasted vote because youre right in saying shes learned nothing.
But Manilla is legendary already, and was sorta viewed from the cast announcement as the AS4 Winner. She had the most wins followed by Trinity with 3 in her run on the show. Eliminating the top competitor when they have a bit of an off week is absolutely the best thing to do because it doesnt give them a chance to come back from it and send your ass home. You eliminate your biggest threats and the playing field becomes more level.
Seriously I don't see what else she could possibly bring to this competition she has been given so many chances already and still is falling flat. She really hasn't been doing so good this season but Manila has actually been so consistent and amazing there's no way she should have been sent home over Latrice who has been given numerous chances and is still been disappointing with her performances season. Manila falls flat one week and goes home? I think if you are a comeback Queen and he led to the bottom once after returning you should go home because you've already been giving you a second chance and it still wasn't good enough

I think the reason why people don’t want to send home the strongest ones is also because you will come off as a coward and insecure. That’s why Trinity is respected. She wants someone to stay separate and apart from being friends, but because she wants a real fight and competition, not easy/ undeserved win.
Just think Morgan’s strategy is for people who don’t truly feel they beat the competitors, and don’t have what it takes to beat the best and stay on top.

Based on talent Manila deserved to stay and because of her talent was a reason for someone to let her go. A couple weeks back Manila was considering eliminating someone for her personal gain rather than to be nice. She also stated that next time given the same opportunity she'd pick a lipstick that helps improve her game. All I'm saying is before we condemn Naomi let's remember why these queens are here, to win.

Honey, this was a TV show and Manila Luzon know what's going on here for years. She said she can eleminate Valentina to create excitement but she actually didnt do that and it would not already be. she also cried so hard when latrice went. These are what the viewers needed. She was carrying this competition in that situation. These are one of the biggest topics of season. Because this season is so boring. This is not that tv show we are familiar with. Because mostly new generation drag race girls doesnt have an idea what's happening.
Let me tell you something sweetie, if given the same eliminating power she would have gotten rid of Monet and saved her friend Latrice. She stated that she felt she owed it to her for AS1 and again because that's her friend. Was that a fair decision ? To Manila it was. Kittygirl, you cant know it. That was first quarter part of competition. Manila couldnt know Latrice’ll do this bad and Latrice and Manila have got long road before this competition. I completely understand it. Remember Alaska and Detox couldnt eleminate Roxy. These are part of this game and i cant say, “this is a broken sense of justice” because we’ve never saw this scenario on tv. You cant know Manila’ll eleminate or not latrice at second time. But this scenario we saw last night became real and you cant take back.
The thing is we can relate to Manila’s choice even though it had no impact. Saving a friend of a decade or so makes sense. It wasn’t even for her own gain. It was for Latrice’s. Whereas Naomi’s choice was purely selfish.
Call me crazy but I want the best queen to win all stars. Not the one who did so bad she has to be the most cutthroat.

I was super shocked the first time I saw a clip of Manila's elimination, and I initially didn't want to watch AS4 after seeing her stats and that elimination. But now that I've finally watched the series itself, her elimination kinda completed a circle and opened a door. Manila HAD previously considered the strategy of eliminating strong competition when the opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately for her, even though she didn't push through with it, someone else did it to her.

I thought she looked great. But I didn't care for the makeover on her friend. I thought Trinity did way better on the runway but I guess Monet did better in the performance. I was really shocked that Trinity wasn't in the top.

I toally disagree with Mergen MercMerckels. The best should be there until the end like Manila because we all want to see the top All Stars fight it out at the end and this format allows us to see the shady queens and that's Mergen and now Naomi. You can blame the show's format but, Naomi had a choice.
You're right, she did have a choice, and she chose to get rid of the front runner knowing she was the obvious front runner. It was going to happen sooner or later and if it didn't, we would all see Manilla win when there are other competitors too. Why let 1st place win when you have the option to get rid of them.
For me its boring - from the beginning of the season we "knew" Manila would win. Happy to see that something interesting happened since this season was just a bit better than the lackluster All Stars 3. People need to realize it's not a fair game and should stop crying like children.
if you want a game thats based off how well the queens do in the long run, watch rupauls drag race. if you want a game filled with drama and shocking eliminations, watch all stars. simple.

Literally Manilla has suggested doing the same thing as Naomi a couple weeks back, and being that she was on top multiple times she had plenty of opportunities to do so. AS2 was riddled with these eliminations, Tatianna's elimination, Alyssa's second elimination, and even AS3 with Bendela eliminating herself, and the Jury. All Stars has this new elimination process for a reason, and Naomi shouldn't be punished for it outside Drag Race. People can disagree and discuss of course, but when I see death threats and racist comments about her it honestly comes off as childish but also damaging. All Stars can go any way you want just as long as you eliminate the right queens.
