No one talks about the Rhyhorn racing in XY. The game says that your mom is a championship racer, there is a rideable Rhyhorn in your front yard, and there’s a racetrack on top of Route 22 that you can’t enter.

Cuz there's no racing minigame to partake in. This is the classic case of XY's incompleteness being exposed to us in 4K. It could've been Pkmn Dash done right & realised. I do wonder why it's Rhyhorn outta all the candidate mons that are easily rideable for the race. Seems to be they looked at the old anime episode where a Pkmn race takes place, but in it Ponyta/Rapidash🐎 were the center of the episode so wouldnt it make more sense to have them as your riders? They'd much cooler & faster thing to mount too. I guess they didnt do that cuz they literally have open flames🔥 that could burn u alive, tho as the anime said "it wouldn't hurt if you're befriended to it & see it as your trustworthy friend."
About Valerie being a kimono girl, in Ecruteak city in GSC, there is a girl that states she wants to become a kimono girl outside of the building.
She gets confused for one in the Ho-oh event for Pokemon Masters by Ethan and she says she isn't but is flattered that she gives off such a vibe so I think it's debunked.

Pokemon Masters just did an event where Silver & Ethan wanted to find Ho-Oh. It's noted Kimono girls have some connection to it so Ethan mistakes Valerie as a Kimono girl to help them locate it. She dismisses the confusion though, stating she isn't a Kimono girl. But she's noted to have a foreign speech implying her origins from Johto so perhaps she drew inspiration from her home region for her fashion designs. Also the devs confirmed the game preserves the canon backgrounds of each character up to joining Pasio
My Question Is: What's The Difference Between A Johto Accent And Accents From Other Regions? It's Been Shown More Than Once That You Can Tell Someone Is From Johto Just By Their Accent,But When You Hear Them Talk (Example: Valerie In Pokemon Masters) They Talk Like Everyone Else. Only Thing I Can Come Up With Is That In Pokemonese,There IS A Difference But Since We Are Hearing/Reading It In Our Own World's Languages We Simply Don't Hear It Because Of How Different Their Language Is From Any We Have In Our World.
I think I once heard that Johto was based on a region in Japan with distinct accents, sort of like how Texas is to America. It even mentions in the manga that Bill has a “Goldenrod accent”

@@wintersong2266 well not necessarily, I believe that's post game or a side thing, similar to Red catching the Legendary birds, you could complete the story line w/o catching them (I even missed them in my play thrus). And every individuals play thru is different like your HG/SS Ethan can have a completely different party from your friends HG/SS Ethan like maybe he didnt save and killed Ho-Oh or released him, trade it away, etc. And Pokemon Masters is set in it's own canon, which is why I said the characters backgrounds are canon up to Pasio. After that it is in it's own world, sort of like a separate timeline
@@JT5555 Johto is based on the Kansai region of Japan. They have a different dialect (similar but not exactly like, as InsideJokesandEggYolks said, Texas [Osaka is compared more to Texas, I feel] in the US) that's very hard to translate into English.
About the last point. X and Y also represents chromosomes, XX and XY. Xerneas and Yvetal are the pokemon of life and death so they have some nice theme blending.

Here’s my theory: in maths,the y axis is vertical while the x axis is horizontal. Yveltal is a winged creature meaning it can travel vertically in the sky,up and down. Xerneas is a land creature,it travels horizontally on the ground. Coincidence? I think not

You forgot that XY represents chromosomes, which are made up of DNA, and the mega evolution symbol is a double helix, most notable as the shape of DNA.

@@djhammers6528 If you have the ability too it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a 2ds. You can play all pokemon games (except those on Switch) with one. It natively has gen 6 (X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), gen 7 (Sun, Moon, UltraSun, UltraMoon), backwards compatibility with gens 4 and 5 (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver and White, Black, White 2, Black 2). Virtual Console then gives you gens 1 and 2 (Red, Blue, Yellow, and Gold, Silver, Crystal) and then with homebrew you can play the gen 3 games (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Firered, Leafgreen).
TL;DR
It might still be worth it to get a 2ds if you can since you can play every pokemon game (gens 1-7) one way or another on it.

Some people speculate that the message to "wait in the usual spot" is somehow linked to the ghost girl from the abandoned building/that one hotel in Lumiose. That the "usual spot" was next to an elevator, and she clumsily went to the wrong place...

A lot of people, at least from what I've seen, have speculated that “I’m going for Help, wait in the usual place.” is connected to the Lumiose City Ghost Girl.
The way that I understand it; is the Ghost Girl in the Office Building haunts there because it's close to the Train Station (I think) is, and the ‘Usual place’ is the Hotel, where the Ghost Girl there says “...Don't talk to me... if you do I won't be able to... hear the elevator.” so, in some way, those three things are connected.
Other than that, thank you for making this video, I just played X for the first time (I played Sun and Ultra Sun before it), and this was fun to watch after I got the main story done.

Az’s floette wouldn’t be a regional form. It’s own Pokémon with a signature move and everything. I don’t see it being a regional form in sinnoh or any other region whatsoever. Why world the floette be a regional form of sinnoh, of all places?

I could totally see it! AZ’a Floette looks much different than any other Floette so where could he have caught such a Floette? Maybe in a region where those flowers bloom. We know it’s a real flower too not just some Floette specific flower bc we see that flower in ORAS just planted in Sootopoils presumably by AZ. Now it’s signature move Light of Ruin could most likely have been learned due to its resurrection so that would be the only distinction between AZ’s Floette and a regional variant. And Sinnoh might I add is a GREAT region for a Pokémon like this to be found what with its back story and all having to do with life and death and Sinnoh having to do with creation (life) and the reverse world (death) or even the new world Cyrus wants to make a world of nothingness where everything physical dies.

x, y, and z are used in the cartesian coordinate system (which is what you've learned in middle school even if you don't know it). cartesian is named after decartes, a french philosopher. france. kalos. etc. Maybe this one is a bit weak...
Add in the fact that they were the first games to utilize the z-axis (literally if you used the 3d function) and I'd say you have a solid theory

When I watched the movie, I thought it was a special mewtwo. It didn’t destroy cinnabar island (in the flashbacks) so it can be theorized that team rocket cloned yet another mewtwo, and maybe they put a mega stone inside of mewtwo itself, like in its arm or something, and because it was built with the mega stone as a part of its body, maybe that allows it to mega evolve at will? That is my take on that movie.
With Diancie we see that mega stones can be self generated and that such legendarys can mega evolve on their own as long as the bond is there and close to their heart. If also helps that Mewtwo is the clone of Mew who technically counts among the pokemon that were erased from life during the firing of the ultimate weapon. There are also two mega evolutions, one for each Mewtwo.
The mewtwo from the newer movie appears Female. The mewtwo from the original movie is definitely Male. A mot of people dismissed it when I pointed that out because of the way they drew its eyes. Then the movie came out and its background does not tie into the original story, it also did not recognize Ash at all.
I know, it can’t be the same mewtwo right!
It's also possible it's not a mega evolution, because ORAS confirmed that there's a world without mega evolution, and Instead it is a unique "powered up" form

Both mewtwo show up in the anime, (movies) so they are part of the same world, therefore there is one that mega evolves with the female voice and lighter coloring, and there is one that doesn’t with the male voice and darker coloring
Actually, the mention of Heatran in Lumiose City is due to a mistranslation. The NPCs are mimicking the sounds of Pokémon throughout the game, and in the Japanese version, the final one they mimic is Heatran.
i really wanna revisit kalos, maybe not in remakes, but i think x and y 2 or something like that would be a great way to explore all the loose ends from x and y
When u battle blue on SS Anne, he greats you with "bonjour", so maybe that's why he got it easily.
I feel like X and y was rather incomplete with a lot of "mysteries"

I love x and y so much, I know it isn't a perfect by any means, it isn't even my favorite pokemon game, but so many people seem to not like it, it makes me feel sad sometimes
This is 3 years late and I think people already know this but it's such a fun fact so I'll say it:
In ORAS there's a flower underneath a tree that looks a lot like AZ's Floette's flower.
And to tie it all together if you speak to one of the NPCs they'll tell you that the seed for the tree was given/planted (I forgot lol) by a very tall man from another region, this is obviously talking about AZ as AZ is the tallest character in the Pokemon series and AZ probably came from Kalos to Hoenn to gift that tree, which is why we see his Floette's flower as well.
Again you may or may not have known this fact already but I thought I'd share it anyway.

In alpha sapphire, there is also the underground part of new mauville that you cannot access being one more powerplant you cannot access.

I hope Az’s floette becomes available in the sword and shield DLC (but then again that might be wishful thinking because the flabébé line are my favorite Pokémon and I want them to return in the DLC)

I wonder if the message at the train station is connected to the elevator hex maniac. Maybe the hex maniac was the one who was looking for help and the usual place was the hidden floor in the building and, once they 'died', the hidden floor became accessible, or maybe it only becomes accessible because they are now still looking for help, but, when the ghost says you aren't the one, they mean 'you aren't the one who can help', possibly dooming them to keep looking. I wonder if there's a creepy pasta somewhere about a single cartridge having the 'You are the one' prompt and you end up with a special mission you have to do, but if you talk about it, everyone will know, and you have to take that responsibility of letting it out into the world.
Fun fact: if you use something like Datel's Power Saves to give yourself an AZ's Floette, you can actually transfer it to Pokémon Home, and it maintains that form. I know this because I did it after I got curious what would happen if you did that.
I think the reason for the axis theming of the XY titles is because of that the games were pokemon’s first simultaneous worldwide releases.

For the Heatran thing, in the original Japanese, the first girl was mimicking Pokemon cries and apparently sounded like a Heatran. This was mistranslated in the English version to say there was a Heatran there.

I always thought that the X and Y were in reference to X and Y chromosomes, since Mega Evolution changes a Pokémon's body and augments them. Not to mention the Mega Evolution symbol itself kinda looked like a part of a double helix too.
That and they revert to usual form afterwards. Not to mention some have multiple mega evolutions. And Dr. Sycamore studies evolution if I am not mistaken.
The number 10 easter egg is a reference to City Hunter, they are contacted by writing the letters "XYZ" on a blackboard at Shinjuku Station.
Extremely fun fact, you can’t transfer an obviously hacked Pokémon into Pokémon Home or you’ll get banned, but I hacked myself an AZ’s floette and it transfers into Home just fine. This means that there was either a very limited distribution of this Pokémon and it transfers only because that distribution makes it legal. Or there’s a way to obtain the Pokémon in game that we haven’t discovered yet... I mean it could just be an oversight, but something seems odd about it
Unfortunately in Masters she claim that she isn't a kimono girl when asked about it in Silver's event. BUT it may mean that she never BECAME one and left Jhoto and sisters behind before reaching age or been qualified as Kimono girl.
i heard a theory that the message on the billboard was linked to the hex girls, she was waiting for someone and could have dies there waiting for the right person but as you get there, you are not the one, and since they were going to get help she could be slowly dying and passed away which is why her legs don't move, i kind of added the last bit myself but it fits really well
In the pokemon center of lavaridge town there is an old man who says that he came from kalos to see the hot sprigs of lavaridge. This is propably a reference to the old lady who speaks about hot springs in X and Y.
I tried debunking a bunch x and y easter eggs a whole two or three years after i beat the game, idk why i always found them so amusing and always wanted to find any little thing i could that would refer to an easter egg. The colors of xerneas, yveltal and zygarde are used for the different axis in 3d software but they correspond differently. X is red, Y is green and Z is blue.

You forgot the person in Coumarine City who plays some music from Black/White. I think it was Bianca's theme. Beautiful and emotional, I remember my joy hearing it the first time.
X and Y could also be referencing genetics. What with mega evolution changing a pokemon appearance and stats there by also changing its genes. Also how in the Japanese logos for the games they have a little DNA symbol which is the same symbol we see when we Mega Evolve a pokemon.

What if the Ghost Girl is waiting for her friend and "The Usual place" is that room she goes into the elevator to and she's waiting there for her friend who's gone to get help and by "The one" she means the one she's waiting for (Doesn't explain ORAS but that could just be a different girl in a similar situation)
I think the hex girl is the same one that Darkrai put in a koma in black 2 and white 2 on that one route with the decaying house. You can see her throughout the series going forward.
Drasna is also from Sinnoh. If you challenge her last after becoming the champion, she'll tell you she grew up on stories of dragon pokemon that controlled space and time. Also, there's a man in Anistar that will ask you for a pokemon for nothing in return. If you give him a pokemon and leave them for some time, he will disappear, leaving your pokemon, a note, and a comet shard on the floor. I couldn't really read it because my screen is cracked, but it seems like he went on a journey to catch a Pokemon for himself.

The note on the back of the sign in the train station is theorized to be wrote by the person the ghost girl is actually waiting for. I honestly don't know why she'd be haunting Lumiose City (forgive me if I spelt that wrong) if she was supposed to be waiting in the train station. But it's the most common connection I've seen
With knowing the origin behind lugia, that was supposed to be pokemon X. Even in its anatomical form its an X. Where as (while not confirmed) ho oh kinda has a funny Y shape.

I know I'm a bit late but a spanish-speaking lokendo youtuber made a very good theory about the ghost girls all around Pokémon until that point (X&Y) and he conected the strange message of the station with both the ghost girl in X&Y, the one in B/W and the one in D/P. It made a lot of sense, although it does require generational planning but it is less crazy than the All comes thoghether theory of Locksting (although much less ambitious and less well put toghether but its an 8 minute video). The video is also from 2014, and one of the initial videos of that channel so it is kinda crappy but the theory is interestingly solid.

What if the X and Y was supposed to be a reference to DNA since the mega stone allow certain pokemon to transform into more primal forms?
Mewtwo's human connections fascinates me, as human DNA explains why it doesn't look like Mew anymore (clones are identical after all). In the movies, there are 2 of them, the male voiced one and the female voiced one, that Team Rocket had made at different times. The male from the first movie could have had DNA added from one of its makers (whether Fuji, or its commissioner Giovanni, or maybe Blaine if he had a secret past in the anime too.) I consider Giovanni because Mewtwo starts out savage, and I made a video about it once. As for the female one who is calm, perhaps Fuji's daughter gave some of her psychic energy/DNA to it. This is my personal theory for the 2 Mewtwo and their personalities.
The Lavaridge Hot Springs aren't entirely useless. There's actually a hidden Ice Heal in there. I believe it's on the women's side in the remakes (which is accessible under any circumstances with no repercussions).

The Ice Heal in itself may be a reference to how Red used Hot Springs on Mt. Silver in Pokémon Adventures to recover from being encased in ice by Lorelei's Jynx as that happened in the Gen 2 chapters.

In fact, mentioning that makes me think that the idea to include Hot Springs in Mt. Ember in Fire Red and Leaf Green may have also been a nod to that with how the Hot Springs can heal your whole team.
Two theories maybe the hiker literally meant the champion was something else (being non existent or maybe referring to there not being gym leaders). Then also, I’ve always felt the ghost girl might behave differently if you had a specific trainer ID and secret ID
