  • Located 40 minutes’ drive from Las Vegas, Nevada, the Late Night Trailhead offers hikers, bikers, and horseback riders access to dozens of miles of trail though Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The network of trails crisscross the picturesque, arid landscape along the corridor of the Old Spanish Trail offering numerous options for a short walk or longer, more strenuous trek. Wayside exhibits tell the story of the mule trains, loaded with trade goods, that crossed this mountain pass in the mid-1800s on their long journey between Los Angeles, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the location is within the Cottonwood Valley Recreation Area, a 23,000-acre area of Red Rock Canyon, that is home to 35 miles of designated trail, more than 600 species of plants, desert tortoise, and wild horses and burros.
Come prepared with drinking water, and be cautious of the hear. Summertime temperatures regularly surpass 100˚ F.
