I picked up a 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler and after a bunch of mods and upgrades - I absolutely love it. It's a ridiculously capable machine, puts a smile on my face every time I give it a rip and I still do a double take on it every time I walk away from it!! But I'm still very much intrigued by the Ducati Desert Sled...
Good bikes, but the best, true scrambler is a self made one.
so true.
I’m building a Honda dominator 650 scrambler she’s now a 720 cc.
Agreed 👍
I've been watching a Lot of build Videos on yt over the last few months and There Are Hundreds of Great Bikes out there Especially from Indonesia and the Philippines !!
VERY VERY COOL!!! Dynamic reads and all profoundly unique unto themselves !
Great video and I especially appreciated your informative and to-the-point Analysis
Thanks Ron!
Never thought about buying a scrambler but now I want one 😊
me too
These are the real adventure bikes from the 60th and 70th Remember Steve MCQueen great bike.
This class of bikes is very interesting. There are infinite set up possibilities in the motorcycle world. Love it.
Great video, I like the look of the Norton. Plus it’s a NORTON!!... Can’t wait to see one and might get tempted. But for now I’m loving my street twin. More mods coming!..
I still can't believe it's peak power is at 11k revs... sounds crazy for a scrambler. Can't wait to read some road tests
Yes last one looks like self made one . Love it
been looking at ducati scrambler desert sled vs urban gs bmw for a 12months now and cannot decide which way to go.... any links guys
Great video thanks. 👍🏼🙏🏼
Nice video I always look forward for your upload greetings from the Philippines. Ride safe always
Thanks TWL - appreciate it! :)
Like the Triumph. Cool bikes you've got over there.
My first bike when I was 16....the 50cc Fantic Caballero 76 model with a screaming Minarelli engine. I have owned over 40 bikes since then. Nowadays the newly released Fantic Caballero 500 is the one for me. I want the flat track styled one
Great vid mate 👌 I do love the R9T scrambler ( 5:15 ) 🤩🤩 some amazing looking bikes! 👍
Thanks Lee! I didn't talk about that one for long. Both Urban GS and the scrambler are beauts tho.
Yes :)
Amazing Video!!
beautiful, love it
Frantic Caballero is built since 1973, they used to race them too. Frantic exists since 1968 using Minarelli engines in the beginning.
As an "expert" surely you must know the real name is Fantic, not Frantic right?
Also they don't exist "since 1968" since most of this time the factory was closed...
Great choice 👍🏼
Fantic Caballero 👍👍👍
Fantic Rally & Ducati icon for me ⚡✊
You could easily throw on the Royal Enfield Himilayan as a wildcard! It’s a sharp bike! Definitely has more cues from a scrambler than an adventure bike (as far as looks) but gets rave reviews as an adventure bike especially for riding through its namesake. Solid list you made here all around!
Wonderful video Motobob!
Thanks mate!
the Norton Atlas would be my choice. Indian FTR is super nice but super expensive! Great list!
Thanks Eduardo!
Norton, Indian and zero are my favourites. The Norton looks gorgeous in the flesh.
Looking forward to seeing one in dealers! Fortunately Krazy Horse stock Norton and they're 10 mins down the road
MOTOBOB It might be a long wait.
Why are the best ones not available in the US? Is there any way to get the Caballero shipped to the US?
Fantic was my Dream since I Go to school....in the early 80 s ...
...6590€! 😎
Fantic Caballero hands down
CCM sure makes some beautiful bikes...
Great video!! 👌🏽
Cheers droog 🙌
Very nice!
Is there a new DT50?
Super video👍
Nice bikes on your list! What about the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle? As I am 5’5 ft, I am considering this purchase soon if it can have engine/radiator guards. What do you reckon?
Awesome video
Good reviews. 👍
Great list
do you have a sample of scrambler stx 125cc ?
Ma come si fa ad inserire una pattumiera elettrica in un confronto tra moto?
Fantic Caballero from Veneto, hot stuff !
1:53 OMG!!!! ❤️
From this I have no idea who was favorite, was it CCM at 1, or Fantic at 11?, Triumph at No4, got second place, or is it me?
it's you
Man - love the ccm bikes, but can’t find them in the US
Nice!
As much as these bikes definitely can be ridden _mildy_ off road, i think we can all agree that majority of Scramblers are styling exercises. However thats a good thing, as they still hold a unique look thats very nice and eye catching, and a throwback to oldschool days of off-road. Nice to see a Guzzi aha, i think a Stornello would have fit the bill better than the rough but i believe they were a limited run. Liking these videos, they get people talking 👍
Thanks mate! Yep I'd agree. The desert sled and the 1200 triumph would probably be the best off road
With the exception of the Triumph 1200 XE, Ernie Vigil took 5th place in the extremely gruelling 1349 mile Mexico 1000 a few weeks back on a bog standard XE deliberately unmodified by Triumph to prove the point. No breakdowns apart from a blown mousse in his front tyre. No, that Triumph can perform unbelievably well off road, I have tested it and it is in a class of it's own and not a pose machine like the rest of them. Better suspension than most adventure bikes too, including the likes of KTM1090R which I have owned and used extensively off road.
Jet you have never heard of Fantic! World famous Italian off road bike producer!
My first 50cc moped was a 2 stroke Fantic Cabellero. Late 70's... I thought Fantic had gone to the wall years ago?
@@andrewf1326 Unfortunately the old brand shut down in middle 80s.
He even thought the brand was "Caballero". These little idiots, self-proclaimed bike experts without basic knowledge of motorcycling history really do my head in.
Amazing video! Thanks a lot! I wanted to buy a Dual Sport. Not anymore.
Dual sport is for people who want to do off road.
Scramblers are for people who want you to think they go off road.
Try one of those 1,000cc bikes on a steep muddy single track.
Just purchased a 23 desert sled. I love you tall saddle and ride…. Power is ok Butt so far I’m digging the motor burning country roads up. Loves (needs) to be revved up.
The ones on the video are all good
I think you missed SWM Six Days. It looks pretty cool with the same color scheme as the Caballero
I’ll take a look - thanks!
Caballero is the model, the producer is Fantic. It's an old italian motorcycle factory dating back to the 60' with some traditions in motocross and off road bikes. The original Caballero date back to 1970. The company bankrupted in 2005 but was resurrected in 2015 and is now part of the VeNetWork Spa (venture capital).
How do you get herald motorcycles in the United states or do you have to import it?
Good job, thank you.
Cheers Michael!
Good video mate. Subbed. :)
Thanks mate! Welcome aboard 👍🤘
Great vid. Herald? Cabarello? Both look good, and are interesting inclusions. I love that Indian, but come on already with the price. They are not doing themselves any favours by making what is an attractive bike priced out of reach IMO. For my money it's the Triumph Scrambler with the 900cc motor because it's a great value, and I spend a lot more time on the road and street, so it really fits that bill. The CCM is by far the bike I'd most like to own, but it is too expensive for me. That bike is straight from heaven! Thanks for a fun and intelligent overview of what's available within a growing category of bikes. Well done. Cheers from the GWN.
PS: Yes, Cob ah yair oh, please.
They are a limited production bike with lots of hand work, how are they going to make it affordable enough for you without changing it drastically? You can say that about ANY high end limited production product. Boo Effing Hoo.
In France we also have the Mash 650 X-ride 😉
Fantic looks amazing but get closer and it's a bit of a bodge up, price sounds inviting but is the build quality going to hold up amidst all the competition ?
That's one way to look at it, but also the bodywork is all plastic which means it's cheap to replace if you genuinely want to greenlane it
Love the RnineT :)
I have a RnineT Racer :)
Agree that pretty much all RnineTs look great
@@motobob 😃
You are missing the Benelli Leoncino
tizio caio yes
😍🤩🤩🤩 Caballero 💪
Benelli leoncino is also a great scrambler.
Triumph is stylist... I love it
I still lust after the Fantic Caballeros of the 70s
Hodaka Wombat
very curious about the electric one and the caballeros. they look dope!
Caballero is fantastic , is Fantic.
i am in love with BMW nine T
Awesome machine indeed😎🌶
a scrambler is not an adventure bike nor is a dirt bike. its an underprepared, light and nimble street bike that can do a bit of off road. thats why I do not consider the triumph 1200 as a scrambler but more like a naked adventure bike don't get me wrong it is beautiful and very capable and I am considering buying it. the closest to a modern day scrambler is the ducati because its light, super nimble and not tall. scramblers from that era where never tall they were cafe racers with different handle bars, mudguards and tyres.
bought triumph 1200xe instead of rninet urban gs and it was my best idea ever! totally in love with this bike - pure joy everywhere.
Couldn't agree more. The desert sled looks like an XT500 the rest will only be seen outside organic hipster coffee shops where boys go to compare odd looking beards and hairstyles
@@stuarthunter7559 The factories don't mind. Myself, I'd probably go with the Ducati.
Truimph heats up a lot.
Scramblers have now become a fashion statement!😕All accept the frantic!😁👍
Svartpilen #1 😉
So which of these have you driven?
Interesting watching this 3 years after it was made, the Norton never even made it to production and I might be wrong but neither did the Herald.
Can you get a Caballero rally in Alabama?t
What happened to the Husqvarna 600 Scrambler they prototyped a few years ago?
Turned into the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401
I was about to purchase a Caballero in my country (The Netherlands) a year ago, but no reseller was able to procure me one.
that triumph 1200 is speaking to me
These bikes remind me of 4 week drive trucks, commercials have them tearing down trails. You know good and well these things are not leaving the pavement
the triumph finished the baja 1000
Triumph!
is there a race only for this type of moto?
Thank you
Ducati scrambler is fantastic
Don't see any the video about Henry with Scrambler desert sled??
i remember back in 1975,my mate Eric Fourdry having a Fantic GT50 and my othermate Steve having a go on it ,come of it 2 days 0id,ouch!! and another friend Mark Allen having a Fantic Cabarello 50 cc which was blue and was awesome,so my old mum bless went to buy me 1,a caberallo ,could not get the credit so she done a sit in all day in Motorcycle city until she got her £25 deposit back!,was gutted but got FS1e in the end 2nd hand £150 ,wish i had it now more like £3000 +!!,now i'm intrested in that Ducati Srambler.
Caballero is a made by Fantic which has the richest history and off road pedigree in my opinion - the red and yellow livery pays homage to that lineage of trial championship it won
I'm surprised the XSR700 is not on this list. Amazing bike for the price.
Agree, but it’s not a scrambler
Love my Honda 305 scrambler 1967
WHAT IS THE BIKE IN THE THUMBNAIL?? it’s absolutely beautiful and i want one
Give me an old , TS 185 any day. I own a ducati scrambler 800. Wish i still had my old 185!
I've got a 73 TC100 that runs when the carburetor agrees... It sure could use the extra 85cc!
David Laws wish I had mine to ,alot of fun
I miss my TS 250! Great Bike!
A scrambbler list without Husqvarna Svartpilen? No way ;)
Well said sir
@@robhives6996 - quite right , but very few reviews of off-road for the Svartpilen. I’m feeling an extra 200 cc would make it the perfect scrambler/ all rounder.
I have bought a new motorbike; Yamaha SCR 950. Great scrambler.
What about the Leoncino?
thats the most appropriate vote list
Triumph 1200 gets my pic. I a lot the FTR1200 a lot, but I think it's better as a road bike.
Yep agree!
Ducati Desert Sled: you too can go round the world on two engines.
Yep, the Urban G/S would be my choice, so good shout there.
Love that bike! Any R nineT would be great, but I fear that BMWs are a bit too nickable for London
i was just in one step of buying Urban G/s but tried Triumph 1200XE and was so impressed that even didnt mint to pay 8k euro more for it. urban gs feels so clumsy, slow, numb
and uncomfortable after that last triumph scramblers.
@@motobob No one ever tried to nick my R1100GS.
@@marioav4126 8K more! Is that euros? Where do you live?
I looked at the Urban G/S for a long time but could not justify spending more than for a 2019 Desert Sled even though the G/S is lacking a lot of options the Ducati offers. I actually went back to look at a Urban G/S just an hour ago and am still happy with my choice. The BMW is nice but if you look closely you can see that it should be $3000 less than it is.
2:56,I see no link though...
well stiched content. Well made
I saw the Cabellaro at Krazy Horse this week.
Check my latest video!
Lol it’s like a list of what not to buy!
Absolutely look forward to your videos!!! Keep it going!!! Love the accent
Cheers MK!
CCM Spitfire is ace
Caballero Fantic was THE 50 cc bike in the 80' here in Belgium, A crossbik,e very expensive, a icoon .
Ducati desert sled n triumph scrambler 1200 xe gotta b d best scramblers
