    You have planted many types of plants, they look really nice. I also like growing plants, but many of the varieties I plant keep dying or being damaged. I will have to learn a lot to have successful results. Hope you will release more videos like this to motivate people like me.

      I'm just about to order the seed mix this morning! It's 100% going to be a perennial mix so that the slope stays filled with plants year-round, and there's less work and effort involved. I'll be sure to include an update in next month's garden video :)

    You can make a large quantity of roasted carrot and coriander soup which freezes well by bulk roasting the carrots and then macerating it down with your base soup. Lovely garden update I look forward to seeing the thornless blackberries.

      If you want to grow supermarket potatoes, you can also cut them in half or even smaller. As long as there's an eye on each piece, it will grow!

    Been working hard in The garden here in central Texas, today's temp in the 80's F, tomorrow expected mid 90's F..ugh! This summer is going to be vicious! Already have first potatoes coming up, cabbage, broccoli, onions, walking onions, shallots, garlic, lettuce, a ton of dill, parsley, other herbs sizing up due to warm weather, chives everywhere. Have the best looking kale ever, now worried about the heat affecting it! Will soon be putting in tomatoes, then peppers, etc. This season is moving fast!

    • @Lovelygreens

    Hi Tanya!
    I'm glad to see that Comet is doing well after his health issues.
    Two questions;
    1) Do you not find your parsley becoming bitter when they over winter?
    2) I cannot remember, do you grow celery on the IOM?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi Bill - parsley always tastes of parsley, even when it's bolting. It seems to thrive in winter! Yes, I sometimes grow celery :) One or two plants is plenty enough, though. I also grow a type of perennial celery, lovage, and celeriac. All celery-like in their own ways.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      There are a few mixes that are predominantly perennial but include some annuals so that you get a good display the first year. I'm considering these two:

    Do your cats use your veg garden beds as litter boxes? What do you do if they leave turds in your beds?

    Do you cover the beds with netting between filming?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      If I have netting up, I leave it. I recently took netting off one of the beds if that's what you're really wondering about. I've left the metal hoops over it for the time being.

    Hi Tanya, do the thornless blackberries grow on last years canes? So 2025 for berries? And are they prolific or definitely worth growing? Big fan :}

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      They do! That's why this year I'm not expecting many berries... Next year will be the year. Worth it? Yes, in my opinion. But if you have wild brambles that you can pick from and less room in the garden, then I'd probably grow something else.

  • @traceygodfrey6432
    @traceygodfrey6432 Před 5 měsíci

    I only hve a space about as wide as the crub. How many blackberries could I plant in that space?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 4 měsíci

      The plants need to be planted a good six to eight feet apart with rows at least three feet apart.

    Would snapdragons germinate in the greenhouse right now? I thought theyd need to be indoors. (Ireland zone 8) TY

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      They will germinate quickly inside your house but not in the greenhouse yet. I started mine off in the house and then moved them out to the Polycrub a few days ago. Once germinated (they prefer about 20⁰C) it's best to keep them warmish (17-20⁰C) during the day, but cooler nights of 5⁰C or more is fine.

    When you have fresh small carrots that you have grown yourself it is pretty much a sin to do anything except oil, salt, oven.

    Do you buy your compost or make it?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      Both! I compost everything that I can and even have a closed container that I pop perennial weeds into. Still, my garden is rather large, and I can't make enough. I buy a truckload in each year from a small business that makes compost locally with horse manure and wood chips. It's great stuff! The business is called Manx Muck.

    Hello Tanya Lovely Greens . Followed your lead from last video planting seeds and my lettuces are showing. I had lots of various vegetable seeds that all spilled into the bottom of a carrier bag . So i have just thrown them all onto a meter square patch of soil to see what happens . Im not too expectant still cold here in Yorkshire.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  Před 5 měsíci

      Lettuces can be forgiving with germinating at lower temperatures - glad you have those to look forward to!
