Look at that, world class public transit in a city of 100k. Here in Canada, we cannot endeavour to achieve 1/10th of that in our capital city Ottawa, which has a population of 1M.

Politics…. All politics. The car- and oil industries are far more lucrative for the North-American leaders and their entourage….. so, the car it must be. Perpetual traffic jams or not….

The world-class public transport poilicy makers of Jena are fighting since 15 years over a northern extension of 500 meters (thats 546 yards) 🙃 Yes, its politics. And we were fortunate enough that Germany in the 90s was on a spending spee. Not possible today. Actually, the fleet replacement in Jena (100 million+ investment) wouldn't be possible either now. Luckily this was decided pre-covid.
