Could you do a sort of "Drive-By-Video" or something like this? Would love to hear the exhausts under "normal" conditions. How would you compare them to the sound of the Akrapovic?
Sure i will do! I've just sent it off to be powder coated, wasn't that happy with the paint that was on it. As soon as I get it back and the weather lets me, then I'll do a fly by video. Did a similar video with the stock exhaust, check it out in my videos, is that the sort of video you wonna see? I liked the Akra sound, but it was the looks and high price that put me off! The Akra is pretty much the exact same shape and size to the stock exhaust. I think the Cobra sounds better than the Akra. Even with the stock exhaust it makes those lovely back fire bangs when off the gas, with the cobra its louder and now even does it on gear changes. It's a nice sounding exhaust and not too loud that it would annoy you on long rides.
Hach, would love to hear that Cobra live. I'm with you on the Akra; price is too high for my taste. Love the sound of my stock exhaust, especially the backfiring in Dynamic mode.

Darrell N did you miss the bit in the video where I said I wouldn't be removing them due to it being highly illegal in Germany, and had already been caught with a differnet bike, cost me 3 points and a €280 fine? lol
there is another vid on here, it's one of the most view vids on the cobra, where he's taken them out. It'll be louder for sure, but hard to get good audio on videos for exhaust tones, it never really does it justice! sounds far better off camera. I always change exhausts on my bike and have tried a few different brands. This is the nicest sounding one I've had, highly recommended it Darren
Can you make a sound video with the COBRA exhaust on dynamic mode ? I'm curious about the standard pops that the S1000XR that combined with the COBRA.
Sorry I don't have this bike anymore, but the popping and banging is louder in dynamic mode.
Finally mounted the same exhaust, powder coated like yours. I’ve removed the db killer, loud but not so much. The only problem is huge popping in dynamic every time I close the throttle. Is that normal? It’s more than with the original pipe.

It's a nice exhaust, and not too loud. Yes the crackles and pops remain, even more pronounced than with the stock exhaust. Cobra have 10% off at the moment🤪

yeah very happy with, and looks great on the bike, everything els I found was way too big! The sound is hard to get on the video, but it's awesome, nice and deep but not too offensive

Hi, does your right boot doesn’t touch the exhaust pipes? I had same exhaust but the problem is that my boot is way too close to the pipes.

I am new to sports adventure/tourers and have just bought a Tiger 1050 Sport (13 model). Its ok but has no 'soul' or 'character'. Looking for similar bike in size and riding position but with some character. Does the BMW fufill this ? or Multistrada was my other thought .
I owned the 1050 sport before the s1000xr and loved it! changed to the bmw because i still wanted to stay comfortable, but wanted sports bike power, this bike fits that bill. I test rode the Multistrada as well, and nearly bought it before deciding on the beemer. The Multi is just as great, but was turned off by the very high servicing costs that came with it. In my opinion you get far more bike and for less money with the Beemer, and its faster! lol
Für mich persönlich leider ein Fehlkauf. Sound finde ich bei meiner 2018er XR weder von der Lautstärke noch vom Klang her großartig anders als die Original-Tüte. Dazu kommt, dass nach Anbau das typische knallen bei Nutzung des Blippers und beim Gas wegnehmen ohne auszukuppeln komplett weg ist. In allen Modi. Dazu Cobra und Wunderlich (dort gekauft) angeschrieben zwecks Klärung = Null Reaktion bei beiden Firmen auch nach 2 Wochen. Bleibt für mich nur die deutlich bessere Optik gegenüber der Original-Tüte und nur dafür muss ich klar sagen, waren 700 Euro rausgeworfenes Geld. Wer sowas sucht -> gebe den Auspuff gern ab. Preis verhandeln wir.
Servus, überlege mir auch nicht 2018 xr1000 HP zu kaufen überleg noch welchen Sound Original lassen oder gibt es noch etwas bessern?

Did you get the brushed or polished tips? You said they were brushed at 2:18 but later at 4:05 said they were polished. They look brushed but just want to make sure what I'm comparing to before I put in my order.

No worries, thanks! I've yet to find an exhaust manufacturer with good descriptions, or website for that matter, so I pay extra attention to details in user reviews like yours.

Hello mate, now that you have had the Hypershots for a while can you tell me please if 1. the tips have discoloured and 2. has the black faded. Others have told me this can happen and I'd be interested to hear from you on this as Im looking to buy a set. Thank you.
No the tips didn't discolour on mine, but I only kept this bike for about a year after making this video. Mine was all powder coated black, not painted. I would advise against having it painted black, which I had at first, because the paint started to come off after the first few washes.

No but it's an added option that you can click on.

paterak you can get them in silver without paint, or just order it with powder coat instead of paont
Do not purchase cobra hypershots, cobra will not return calls or emails, they do not stand behind there product, mine started rusting immediately after installing.
