FAQ:
How do you change the time of day and date?
To change the date and the time on the alarm clock you will have to press the set time button on the bottom next to the power input.
Is it rechargeable?
No it requires constant power.
How to turn off the alarm?
Press the bell button. Could be bell 1 or bell 2. Depends on which one you have activated.
So it has to be plugged in? It’s not wireless?
Yes it has to be plugged in. Not wireless.
How can you make the clock/screen brighter?
Unfortunately that is not possible by pressing the buttons, if you are handy you can try this: • JBL Horizon backlight ...
Can we connect an USB pendrive to the speaker to play songs?
No it is only usable for charging.
May I connect it with another bluetooth device like another speaker?
No I don't think it is possible.
It has 24 hrs clock mode as well as AM & PM mode?
Yes 12 hours and 24 hours.
What does the moon/sleep button do?
If you have the light on and you press the moon (sleep) button. You can set a time between 5 and 90 minutes until it turns off. And if I remember correctly the same goes for the radio. If you are listening to a specific station you can enable the moon (sleep) button so that it turns off after the designated time. It's a timer.
Also if you hold the moon/sleep button you can disable the digits/backlight.
Does the JBL logo on the back vibrate?
The logo is hard plastic, it doesn't vibrate.
Is it AM or FM radio?
Only FM radio.
How do I disable my alarm?
To set an alarm you hold the bell button 1 or bell button 2.
To remove the alarm you press one of the bell buttons you assigned the alarm to. Until the bell icon on the display goes away.
Can I connect the JBL Horizon to my laptop for music?
Yes it is possible with the AUX cable.
Is there a microphone?
No there is not.
Can it read sd cards?
No it can not.
If there is a power interruption, will the time need to be reset again?
No there is a battery on the bottom specifically for the date and time.
What does the DST button do?
If you live in an area that observes Daylight Saving and you set the clock up while daylight saving time is currently active, you should set the clock for the standard time and then slide the DST switch to +, this will give you the correct time and then when DST time ends, you slide it back and it’ll adjust the clock back to the right time again.
I first found black JBL Horizons in the rooms of a hotel in Dubai, in December 2018 (which is when I first found this video). I liked this product so much, that I wanted to have my own in my bedroom in my Bangladeshi home. And now I am writing this just after receiving my own JBL Horizon in black! I am already starting to like it. The sound quality is good, and I like the ambient light. However, I noticed the display is a bit too dim. But forget that factor, I still like it! And great video too!

When I stayed at a hotel in San Francisco, my room had one of these. there's plenty to like but, I had one major complaint: the display was simply too dim to be easily readable. Until JBL makes the display adjustable, I'm not getting one. The sound quality is impressive, the build quality is as well. I like the design and features but, the display must be improved!
General Zod I agree. The clock is too dim to see properly. I’d like an adjustment button

After seeing your awesome review, I bought the JBL Horizon 2. It is very good. I use it mainly for alarm to wake me up for work. I’m a heavy sleeper so normal alarm clocks and mobile alarm can’t wake me up. Using the alarm from this speaker is awesome! And I use the radio for listening to classical music before I go to bed. I love the nightlight. It’s very beautiful! Thanks for the review!

I found another setting on mine. If you long press the light button, you can set how long the light will be on before it turns off.
So the night light will stay one for only a certain amount of time then turn off on its own?

Cool beans! I purchased one in Amazon and it calls for a battery not included. Thanks to your "Unpack Video" now I know that I do not need ant battery, and I am glad to learn that the antenna cable is not really needed. My JBL Horizon should be here in a couple of hours.

Hey, so grateful for the tutorial on this product. I was out of town and thought I was unplugging the lamp. Realized I unplugged clock and thought, darn, have to spend 10 minutes figuring out how to set it back. I was so impressed that the clock turned right back on that I came home and ordered. I had no idea it did all this cool stuff! I suppose the battery is the reason clock didn't go out.. I have power outages where I live, so it will be GREAT not to have to reset! Thanks again!

When the light on the back turns on gradually, is there a way to set how bright it gets? Or how long it takes to reach max brightness? I don't care if the display is dim, I want to know if you can make the actual light for the wake up alarm brighter

Hello, I've bought the JBL 2. One question for u please. When I put alarm on radio, the radio runs 3 mn and then switch off... Can we adapt a kind of "sleep" function to have the radio running more than 3 mn? Thank you for your help.

I really prefer that the alarm plays in the volume which I defined (in my case, in the maximum), but it's starting so down that I woke up late today! Does it have any way to keep it in the maximum? Thanks!
Kinda late but I think if you leave the audio on max then it should stay on max.

I understand someone consumers think the feature of the alarm volume going up smart, but it's disrespectful that the alarm can not stay at the same volume for consumers who don't want it to go up.

Bought one and not happy that I must reconnect my phone to the device every night. My car radio connects to my phone without interference from me so feel cheated. In addition, JBL have several apps and the description doesn't tell a person which one to install on the phone. Took downloading 3 versions before getting what I think might be the right one. Not happy

Hi, is it possible to play whatever song you like from your mobile via Bluetooth connection as a wake-up tune? I mean, for example you set the alarm for 5AM , Bluetooth mode, connected to your mobile. Will it start playing the song at 5AM automatically or do you have to somehow preset the tune or is this not possible at all?

When the alarm goes off, how fast does it go from low volume to full volume? Understand from reviews that it's really fast which could be a deal breaker.
I tried it just now. I had it on volume level 1 and it went off. It did start a little loud and went louder. If you want an example video then I can send it through Instagram.

@@Helloitskovo No they are just idiots. Plain and simple! This is a great Tech Savvy bluetooth alarm. Get a standard alarm clock if you don't know how to read the INSTRUCTIONS. Come on people, look at the instructions.. Don't have one.. well GOOGLE it and you can even print it out. SIMPLE alarm ultimately for how much technology is inside.
l'm happy of this product, but l'm also trying to set the max or average volume when it's set on radio alarm. The volume gradually starts from zero to a louder level which can be sometimes too loud :-) Let me know if there is a way to set the radio alarm on lower than the max (or average instead of gradually) thx !

Awesome video! Could you explain what “Sleep Mode” is? I know that you can hold down the button to make the display turn off but what does the 5 minutes-90 minutes mean? Will it just dim the display lights? Thank you!
You can use sleep mode to set a timer for the light or the radio. After the timer both will shut off.
como todo aparelho tem um defeito ou um erro ... esse é o lado ruim dessa caixa ela não regula o alarme... você coloca o alarme para @ da manhã o alarme vai aumentando até o MAXIMO DO VOLUME... OU SEJA ACORDA COM UM TRIO ELÉTRICO.
em vez de acordar de boa relaxado escuta uma musica de boa você pula da cama assustado... até mesmo pra desligar e não incomodar o vizinho.

I don't think it is possible to do that manually. However there is this guy on CZcams named Haza Mantem (1 video) and the shows you how to disassemble and change the backlight of the screen itself. Hope it helps good luck!

I do the following, I press set time once and the time format will start blinking. If I press the circle between the arrows to the left and to the right it jumps to time to year to month to day. That works for me and I don't know if there is another way. Good luck!

Back again!! The alarm will play the entire song and will jump to the next one after it's finished. It will probably keep on like that until you decide to stop it.

Nice clock hey, I have it for years, my first question to Jbl was why no dab+. Realy thinking of upgrading to the horizon2 for me and the misses. Wondering if you can use the connect app on that one
Thanks for watching, that is a really good question. I don't know why they didn't include the dab+. As for the horizon 2, that one really caught my attention. One day I'll get that one. I never used the JBL connect app so I can't answer that one.

There is no off button. If you hold the moon button, the display will turn off :)

That small hole is for hotels/motels to lock their alarm clocks with a steel wire. I don't know how to do a reset but you could try this:
In most cases your alarm clock can be reset using the following method:
Unplug the alarm clock radio.
Use a small screwdriver to take the battery cover off of the bottom.
Remove the battery, wait 10-20 seconds and replace it.
Once you have inserted the battery again, plug the alarm clock radio back in to see if it is now working.
@@Helloitskovo Thanks. Already tried that and even replaced with a new battery but it's the same. Problems are clock slows down a few minutes every few days and clock always goes into time and date settings (blinking) all by itself.
Man, it's a great product, it also looks good, but too bad that it can't read sd card. :(

Not if you have the battery on the bottom inserted. It's a cell battery if I remember it correctly.

No only the supported Bluetooth which you can use to navigate the songs. Previous-Next-Play-Pause.

Hello I would like to wake up JBL horizon 2 new, but at startup we can see written around the date and below a little word marked demo mode (which then fades) the time the date everything remains displayed but impossible to adjust anything no button works that then-I do to remove the demo mode?
I truly have no idea, I do not own the jbl horizon 2. Sounds like it's set to the demo mode for in store purposes.
I think this is the best affordable jbl speaker
It is a great device. However if you only want a speaker and not an alarm clock you will be fine with the JBL GO 2/3 Have a nice day!

I have no idea what that does. I have come to the conclusion that the hardware of the Horizon is rather mysterious! Holding certain buttons together give certain reactions that we don't know the meaning of. Strange but true :D

Does the power need to be on all the time? Every time I switch the thing off I have to reset the time …
The power cable needs to stay connected. However when you unplug the cable, it should save the time. If it doesn't it could mean that your cell battery is empty and you need to replace it. There is a little cap on the bottom of the alarm clock. Twist it and replace the battery.
Does the JBL Horizon need charging up
No there is no possibility to charge the JBL Horizon. It needs constant power.

I bought this not long ago and have been using and enjoying it but every few days, the clock/time will reset itself from the UK time I set it to and reset to the original time the clock was on when I bought it. Is there a reason why?
Maybe the battery cell is dead? You could try replacing it at the bottom.

It depends on your room. If the light (sun) in the room goes from bright to dark. The sensor in the alarm will adjust to that information. It will auto adjust.

I'm sorry...I'm contacting you out of desperation. I bought this alarm and have looked at your video many times because I must be missing something. I just can't get any sound out of it. I've set the presets, but no matter what I do I can't get the radio to play. I've tried pairing to Bluetooth through my phone and still nothing...not even the music stored on my phone. The alarms are set to radio and they don't play. What on earth am I doing wrong? I have no antennae but live in the city so shouldn't need one.

I understand your frustrations. It's been two days since you've left a message, any luck yet?
If not try the following:
Crank up the volume on the jbl horizon by pressing the plus button next to the arrow to the right.
Unplug then plug the power cable from the radio, hope that works.
Hold the Bluetooth button and the plus button at the same time until it says bypass.
If that doesn't work then I would advice you to send it back.

Underneath the alarm clock there is a button named set time. Press that button once and navigate with the buttons on top of the alarm clock.
