  • Parliament has completed its work on the establishment of portfolio committees this week following the appointment of cabinet members.
Parties are now to appoint and assign members to all committees, including the Judicial Services Commission.
The JSC is the only parliamentary structure made of some non-parliamentary members, such as lawyers, academics, and judges are referred to as commissions.
Judicial reform is an ongoing task in South Africa's 30-year-old democracy that the JSC bears responsibility for.
This becomes increasingly pronounced in the 7th administration.
Alison Tilley of Judges Matter joins me to unpack this further.

Please remove Malema from the JSC he is racist through & through. His conduct is seriously questionable.
