I’m so glad that this mobs now have different spawning requirements as opposed to previous versions of Minecraft because the spawns are much better now than ever. I build this in creative mode first to make sure it would work for my world and I wouldn’t waste my resources, and I was sitting at the bottom of it because I was doing something on my phone and when I went to check that everything was working, there was a massive amount of mobs up there. That was about 5 minutes of AFK at the bottom with only one layer
I recommend building it above a ocean like shown in Voltrox's tutorial. Building it on land could potentially cause you to waste resources due to underground caves taking the mobs

@@imthesupport21 bro the solution is that you should build it in the ocean go to a ocean and build 124 blocks up alr and then make a platform and make your farm there it will work better I suggest this cause mine wasn't also working so I used this method
Also put torches on top so mobs wont spawn on the top (if ur gonna be afking there for a bit longer)

If you do this one block higher and instead of campfires use slabs you can make a pretty solid xp farm this way too

@ILoveHoopin10x I think you need it one block higher so the mob doesn't die from fall damage then the slab is so you can kill them yourself and get the xp over the campfire killing them

you can also put slabs on top of the hopper and remove to campfires and make it an xp farm but it’s a w farm
So slabs instead of the campfires will not kill them making it a XP farm instead of instantly killing them?
@@Outx7Cast Yes, thats basicly the point. Also hoppers can pull items through slaps as they are not full blocks

I notice you need to hit the mobs to gain the xp. Simply letting them die from campfires/magma blocks/wither rose/ won’t drop xp

Don’t build with flammable materials and make the plate form a room because phantoms and lightning
Guys there is a way to make it cheaper by placing water on one corner and then a hopper on the opposite corner at the bottom because the water will be at the top (this decreases iron by using 1 hopper instead of 2 or more )

different designs for this . and depends on version for java you don't need much to get a lot . on bedrock edition even with a trident killer and looting 3 you wouldnt get like a tenth of the drops

You can but being above will give so much better rates as no other mobs will spawn anywhere else 👍
You’re able to so long as it stays within your render distance, but if you want to kill the mobs for XP than I recommend switching the hoppers for something that won’t kill the mobs instantly or add water near the middle to break the fall
If you want xp, I recommend breaking the top
Layer at the bottom not in the farm and instead of campfire place slime blocks so you can kill them.

This is just Etho's skyblock mob farm. no idea how people still dont know about this one xD you should build the drop pillar out of slabs tho unless you spider proof the platforms spiders can get stuck up top and ruin your rates.

Made it above water and i doesnt work it only spawns a mob every 2 mins roughly angone know how to fix
but what if you already have 6 hoppers for a cobblestone generator & the server limits how many hoppers u can have? And I also want to at least land the killing blow myself.

it doesn't work, I'm on 1.18 but several mobfarms from version 1.18 are of the same style and functional, on my map no, I have lighting on top of the farm, inside the farm it's the same as the video, with trapdoors, no lighting, I made the farm in the middle of the ocean at 120 blocks high, but I've done it higher and lower and it doesn't work, I've already put it in survival, creative, in peaceful and difficult difficulty, I've already made a platform 70 blocks away from the farm and only one or two mobs spawn, I don't know why

plese dont make this on land, it will be incredibly painfully slow. instead build it up high in the sky above an ocean( it will still suck, because this is such a simple farm, but not as much

Turn your render distance up then it will work when your 80 blocks high

tip, you can use buttons instead of trapdoors. mobs still see it as a full block, but they're cheaper :)

I build the most simple fish farm. The fish machine. It's not my idea I just call it that😂
My game has accelerated since. I know have almost everything and am getting ready for the dragon. Full enchanted diamond armour tools and weapons. I go underwater and mine loads.. it's fun. I was a noob two weeks ago so yeah fish machine is op. Fishing is fastest way to progress.. if you end up with the max lure and luck of the sea rod you'll be racking up XP and enchanted books el rapido!

Why did you went 80 blocks up for afk spot? Any particular reason?
Yep limits spawning to only the mob farm and no where else
I would say that the long fall bit is better as a 3-3.. Not a 2-2 simply because of spiders.. Also for spiders you might want a ring of water around the mob farm platforms.. Otherwise they will climb the walls and slow down or even completely stop your farm
Or place carpets I have just released a long form video about top 5 farms updated the farm as had more time 🎉👍

It will be terribly unless you light up a 256 x 256 block radius!

Trap doors help with the path finding mobs will be more likely to walk off
