To get the Beneath The Surface Trophy, you must drop the water level 2 times, DO NOT DOCK ON ISLANDS DURING THE 1ST WATER DROP IT CAN VOID THE TROPHY. After the 2nd water drop, dock on all 9 islands as shown in the video.

If you have already entered all the docks and the trophy has not appeared, just go to the watchtower that should appear, I hope I have helped.

The Trophy unlocks if u dock on every Islands a second time, you dont have to start a new game!

It unlocked for me when I docked at the Lookout Tower despite the fact that the Boat Dock had already been discovered.
Thanks I only needed the light elf outpost.

Thank you so much for the video! Finally got the trophy, my last one for the platinum. What I did:
1. Reverted to an old save, right before the dragon.
2. Progressed through about an hour and talked to the big giant in the lake, which lowered the water for the second time.
3. Immediately went to all the locations mentioned in this video, in order. I actually already discovered 5 of them, so only a few were new.
4. Trophy popped at basically the exact time yours did in the video.
What a headache but you made it much better. Thanks again!

I spent a lot of time wondering what I could’ve done wrong or what i had to do because I didn’t get the trophy after docking on all the places and exploring everything like he said in the vid until i docked at the watchtower/lookout tower and then i got the trophy after walking forwards a bit
I got this trophy three days ago after I docked at the Light Elf Outpost. 😅

Even if i scour the light elf outpost, it doesn't work. That's the only area on the map that is still in the mist. What can I do?

I've gone round this lake so many times and landed on all the docks I can think of and it still won't pop up. Does it matter if you find all shops, etc? Because I've encountered all the shops but one remains undiscovered even though I've visited it several times.
sean locke The first time you see the serpent he lowers the water level once and you can dock and explore certain islands because a few are still locked and when you do that it causes issues with the trophy when trying to dock on new islands after the 2nd time the water level has dropped. So what you gonna need to do is start a new game, do not dock on any islands after the 1st water drop, rush through the story to get the water level to drop the 2nd time then dock on all 9 islands unless you want to wait till they patch this trophy bug or a rumored new game plus.
I'm going through the game again now on easy mode this time just to get to that 2nd water drop. I hope it pops up this time. If only you can skip cutscenes.

Unlocked OK for me. I explored many areas first time water had dropped. Second time it dropped I explored a few then went to stonefalls and the trophy popped 🙌🏻 maybe they've patched it? Although I must have already docked on stonefalls first time the water dropped as chests were already open :/ happy I don't have to do new game to get the trophy either way

According to some other guides The Mason's Channel and Veithurgard are needed too. But as it glitched for me I am rushing in new game to get this trophy. I will try your 9 without the ones I mentioned and will see whats up and let you know.
Suporex TV yea I noticed but it's actually 9 islands. Do this because when the first water drops it causes issues with the trophy so I recommend starting a fresh new save, play on casual and rush through the story till you get to the second water drop. DO NOT DOCK ON ANY ISLANDS DURING THE 1ST WATER DROP IT CAN VOID THE TROPHY. DO IT ON THE SECOND WATER DROP. Then dock on all 9 islands as I did in the video and yes please get back to me

Do you only have to dock at the islands? I've got 100% in Midgard and there's no fog on the map but it still won't pop
Matthew Ankers yes all you have to do is dock on the islands. Since you got everything 100% try docking on all 9 islands again because I noticed that I did dock on all 9 islands but didnt get the trophy so I decided to dock on all 9 again and I got the trophy. Reason why it won't unlock is because the first time you saw the serpent you were able to dock on a few select islands to explore and it doesn't count for some strange reason. You actually need to lower the water level 2 times for the trophy to work. So I'm hoping it works for you as it did for me. Please get back to me if it did work or not.
S1R CARNAG3 still not working I'm afraid. Gone around all of them 3 times and still not popping. Only trophy I need for platinum aswell. I read a few people have had similar issues. Might have to start a new game... :-(

S1R CARNAG3 started a new game. Didn't do any exploring just went through the story till I got to the point at the start of your video. Followed your video and thankfully it worked lol. Must have been a glitch on my other save

Κωνσταντίνος παισιος just go there but you have to do it on the second water drop as shown in the video because docking on any of the 9 islands during the first water drop can cause issues unlocking the trophy so you have to do it during the second water drop and then dock on all 9 islands and you will get the trophy

There is a problem with the Darkness and Fog trophy I unlocked all 5 chests in ivaldi's workshop and still no trophy popped up and I even killed the valkyrie
I'm on my way to the God Of War platinum trophy I just need a few but I can't earn this one for some reason I explored all of niflheim and still no trophy and now I loaded a file from yesterday and I have to do everything again I'm not the only one who haven't gotten this trophy there are a few thousands of people who have this bug/glitch but still no solution to this problem

What also confuses me, is if your not supposed to dock anywhere after the 1st bit of water drops. How are you supposed to do anything?
Because the main story quest is not tied to any of the islands on the 1st water drop. Just simply follow the quest line until you drop the water the 2nd time and then explore the 9 islands
@@S1RCARNAG3 damn, going to have to start another game. I was hoping that could be avoided, but oh well. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long. So you can still travel to other locations by boat. As long as it’s not one of the 9 docks in the video?
@@eldudereno204 if i were you? I would save beneath the surface trophy for last so that way when you start new game+ or new game you can just focus on the story quest up until the 2nd water drop and explore the 9 islands and finally platinum the game

Truth Trundle you welcome and I know took a few trys to defeat her. I suggest grind out in niflheim and muspelheim to get enough materials to fully upgrade ivaldi's cursed mist gear set (I personally think it's best plus I defeated her with that gear set) and also getting thamurs breath runic attack for the axe and raining meteors from the sky for the blades of chaos

I visited all islands two times and there is no fog in my map I docked at the look out tower after visiting each island still can't get the trophy

@@joetixx8904 you have to start the game over. Play on easy mode to breeze through. DO NOT DOCK ON ANY ISLANDS DURING THE 1ST WATER DROP. Just go straight to the story until you get to the part where the water drops for the 2nd time, than you go and dock on all 9 islands

Some islands have 2 docking points. Does it matter which one you use?
Doesn't matter. All it matters is you dock and explore the islands, doesn't need to be 100% explored, just need to set foot on the islands
@@S1RCARNAG3 cool, I saw a comment on another guide video for the same trophy, that you still get the trophy. As long as you dock on all islands a 2nd time. But that didn’t seem to work. But I’ll try it a 3rd. Before starting a new game anyways. Just in case lol.

Try going to all 9 islands again and if that doesn't work you have to do new game and just rush it till you get to the part where you talk to the serpent that lowers the water level the 2nd time that you see at the start of the video. Please get back to me if the problem is fixed or not

Started a new game, dropped water to 2nd level (4 hours later?) , followed your list.
Arrived on shore, let the text appear, return to boat, next area.

Play on Easy Mode & stick to the main path.
So playing God of war and trying to get this trophy and I've docked on all nine of the island docks and still don't have the trophy.🤔🤔🤔

@@robertlindsay920 all i can say it beat the game, start new game plus, avoid the islands on the first water drop and go straight to the story until you get to the second water drop and immediately go for the 9 Islands. This is a known trophy bug that never got patched for whatever reasons

My Midgard summary is 100% and I traveled the whole region ,but still the trophy doesn't pop up
Its bugged. You need to start new game or new game+ and skip all the islands when the first water drops. Just skip it all and focus straight to the story and when you drop the water the 2nd time, then explore all 9 islands like how I did in my video. All you need to do is step on the land and sail to the next one 9 times and trophy should pop. If not definitely get back to me

Second time doing this and it hasn't poped
You have to make sure that you do not dock on any islands during the 1st water drop as it negates the trophy for whatever reason. When the 1st water drops just continue on with the story while avoiding the islands and get to the part where the 2nd water drops just like the start in my video, then you can start docking on all 9 islands and you will unlock the trophy
What if i did dock on some islands after the first water drop? I'm not sure, but I think I did
