In newer Pokemon games, we have seen various new forms of Pokemon be introduced such as Paradox Pokemon, Gigantamax Pokemon, Regional Variants, and Mega Evolutions. These kinds of forms are only a recent trend, but what if the older Pokemon regions also got their own special Pokemon form? Well, that is what we are exploring in today's video, as we take a look at what the forms for these older regions could be like, and what the Pokemon with these forms could look like as well!

Soooo reallyyy looong post about the ideas of your video mixed with some I had for years for a massive pokemon game.
This is something i'd really love to see, a reboot Pokemon game, with brand new mechanics.
A game that ditch Switch for PC or PS5/Xbox, that would have all existing regions added, and the futures ones.
It will start with the first 4 regions (all based on Japan) and will expand further with updates/DLCs after that. Each regions will have a unique core mechanic and some side mechanics that are cross regions.
You’ll start on one of the 4 first region of your choice, follow the main story, but it’s more open world, scaling gyms ect, use the core mechanic of the game and beat the Elite 4. After that, there is still endgame content, Legendaries to catch (really challenging), new trainers that use mechanics of other regions (if you completed that region), and you can visit a new region. You can also start again with the starter in the new region, and can only come with 5 Pokemons under level 5 (so breed Pokemons to bring your favorites). You play the story of that region, and, once you beat the Elite 4, you can travel back to already visited regions. You also unlock the mechanics of previous regions.
That’s the solo version of a game, where you can also play with friends, or online (that could work a little differently).
Sometime thanks to updates, some Pokemons could get new forms of the older mechanics (if the mechanic include new forms). Those forms, or sometimes new Pokemons could be decide from community voted Fakemon contest to spice things up.
A new place that is a Park Safari/Day Care fused into one could exist. This is a special Research Archipelago region where you can build a house/farm ranch for your Pokemons where your character actually come from, and where you inherit a farm. There you can interact with them in more ways than camping/picnics. Pokemons released in the ranch can also learn egg-moves and you can breed them. So this is here that you can obtain Chimeric Pokemons (more on that later).
You can also do a little bit of farming (growing berries and some plants for recipes, gathering milk from Miltank or eggs from a chick pokemon). You can also customize your farm, and access it whenever you want.
From the place where your farm is, in late-game, you can access different biomes that are controlled environments (either domes or cave like Diamond/Pearl remake). In those biomes, you can find rare Pokemons, starters from regions you’ve been, new forms, some unique regional forms and, if you release enough of them, some wild Chimeric Pokemons (all those new Pokemons/forms found here are added through update and contests).
Cross-region Mechanics (found in the biomes of your Park Safari/Day Care Region):
      - Regional forms: New regional forms could be added to all regions, especially those before Gen7. Some of the regional forms could be exclusive to the biomes of the Research Archipelago. The “Ambassador” of the regional forms could be Vulpix, having a new form in each region (based on the many types of Kistune), and Meowth, already having 2 regional variants
-Group forms: like Wishiwashi school form, but that work differently, not tied to an ability and can trigger when entering combat. This could be for small or weak pokemons, birds, bugs or fish for example. Like Magikarp, Tailow, Nymble. Those forms could sometime have an additional/alternate second type. When a Pokemon gain Group Form, it cannot Evolve anymore if it could.
      -Evolutionary fusions:
Like Slowpoke with Shellder, Pokemon that Evolve through fusion with another Pokemon.
Or like Shellmet and Karablast, Pokemons that gain characteristics of the other by trading/evolving.
In both case, those Pokemon should have non fused evolution has well.
Slowpoke could be the “ambassador” of this mechanic, having several of those forms. Like Slowknight (water/steel or water/fighting by fusioning with Cloyster, having a sword and shield), Slowqueen (water/fairy for females by fusioning with Clamperl [Slowbro could become male exclusive])
Or an armored Slowpoke evolution with Shellmet, or a spiked evolution with Quillfish).
      -Dimorphism forms
More Pokemons that have real sexual dimorphism that is more than “cosmetic”. They could even have different moves, stats, abilities, even types. So kind of like Meowstic. Pyroar could be like that: Males Fire/Steel with better defense stat and Females Fire/Electric with better speed stat, and both different movepool. Some Pokemons that don’t have sexual Dimorphism could have it in a regional form, and a Pokemon that have Dimorphism could loose it in a new Regional form.
      More on the next reply.

    • @gval895
      @gval895 Před rokem

      Regional Mechanics:
      - Kanto (with Sevii Islands): Synchronic moves, that are moves that have additional effect when used with an ally of a specific types. Like a specific water move that can burn by boiling water with a fire or dragon ally, etc. There is a lot of battle in 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3, especially Gyms and Elite 4. Also, there is new Synthetic forms, that will give some Pokemons artificial new forms those forms could have some unique powerful Synchronics moves. After completing the main story, you can go to a new island of the Reasearch Archipelago region where you can find artificial Pokemons like Porygon, Mewtwo and Genesect (after Unova), Morpheo (after Hoenn). This could be genetically modified or digital and robotic Pokemons. You can also find artificial variants of existing Pokemons like a Digital Pikachu. There also could be an artificial Pokemon that have a lot of variants like Eevee.
      - Johto: Divine Burst. Give Pokemon a boost of Divine Energy of a type, giving it a third types of sort, but with some downsides. Once you completed the main story you have access to a new island in the Research Archipelago where you can find Divine forms Pokemons. This is an island based on Atlantis/Bermuda triangle. It was submerged by a new regional form of Lugia (Water/Psychic or Fairy) to protect it and then when re emerged a few centuries ago, it is surrounded by a weird mist where ships disappeared. The island is inhabited by an ancient civilization and you can find Divine Pokemon, bless by a new regional form of Oh-oh (Fire/Fairy or Dragon)
      - Hoenn: Weather forms/Terrains forms. Form that change depending on the weather or terrains. This forms can have different type/ ability/ moveset (for two of the four moves). You can “edit” the moves that can change with the form outside of battle. Some Pokemons have one weather/terrain form like Cherrim, or Pelipper and some several like Altaria (all weather, misty and electric terrain) and Goodra (Rain, hail, electric and grass terrain) and of course Castform( all weather, misty and electric terrain). Kecleon could also have a dragon type evolution that can change second type in every weather or terrains. Terrains and weather could be reworked or expanded to new types. There could have effects like Fire/Water/Grass Pledge by combining weather/terrains. There is also a lot of 2vs2 battles and 3vs3 to take advantages of the weather/terrains forms, abilities that enhance Pokemons in said weather/terrains and Pokemons that can set weather/terrains.
      - Sinnoh: Natural traits. By studying ancient fossils, scientist discovered that Pokemons of the ancient past were more powerful thanks to Natural Traits. Natural trait act has a secondary ability that can be awaken in Pokemons. Pokemons can have a few natural trait to choose from, that are different from abilities (that are a little more varied for each Pokemons now). For example, in Tyrantrum case, a natural ability could be Strong Jaw, as it fit so well with this Pokemon and it could have an ability as well.
After completing the story, you unlock a new island in the Research Archipelago with prehistoric Pokemons, that all have variants that are not necessarily rock-types. Rock types fossils is due to a problem in the resurrection technology of fossils. You can also find ancient/prehistoric variants of modern Pokemons. You can also find non altered Genesect.
      - Hisui: Strong/Agile styles and Origin forms. Origin forms from Hisui/Altered form of Giratina and Primo- Resurgence of Kyogre and Groudon being one mechanic. In Hisui you can find artefacts to change Legendaries back to their Origin Forms.
      - Unova: Seasonal forms/ Celestial forms. That can change the types, abilities and movepool of some Pokemons. Seasonal forms change the form of a Pokemon depending of the seasons. Some have only one seasonal form like winter form Furret or winter form Wyrdeer, while some, like Sawsbuck, Venusaur, and Torterra, have a form for each season. Celestial forms change the forms of a Pokemon depending on celestial event (phase of the moon, time of the day (Dusk, Dawn, Zenith of the Sun, Zenith of the Moon). Some Pokemons have only one form like Solrock (Zenith of the Sun) and Lunastone (Zenith of the Moon) and others several forms like Rockruff having a regional forms for phases of the moon. This forms could be locked by a rare item.
      - Kalos: Mega-Evolutions. You have access to the already known megas and some new ones by searching for mega-stones in other regions, after beating Kalos Elite 4.
      - Alola: Z-moves. You have the already known Z-moves, and some unique new ones by searching for Z-Crystals in other regions by completing the story. You also unlock a new island in the Research Archipelago that contain a breach to Ultra-Space, allowing you to find some new Ultra-Beasts.
      - Galar (with Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra): Dynamax/Gigantamax. You have access to the already know Gigantamax. The difference is that there is several Dynamax moves that you can learn but some are unique to some Gigantamax Pokemons. After finishing main story, you can explore dens that lead to undergrounds with new Gigantamax Pokemons.
You also unlock the character that can mix fossils in the island of the Research Archipelago unlocked after Sinnoh, you could obtain the 4 fossils of Galar, non-mixed, version stabilized of the 4 mixed fossils (less freak of nature) and new mix of this fossils and others). She admit that Dracozolt, Arctozolt, Dracovish and Arctovish were a mistake of her technology and study of fossils. But she managed to make the process better.
      - Paldea (Kitakami and Blueberry Academy): Terastallization. Work like in S/V but don’t have crowns, but crystal skin and auras for each type. After finishing main story, you can find new Paradoxes in new areas of Area Zero and some Pokemon-exclusive teras (depending on where the DLC story is going)??
      Other Details:
*Older regions pokedex will be update to have some Pokemons from newer generations. Overall, each regions will have more unique pokemons..
*There will be more Eevelutions and more powerful evolutions of Eeveelutions in this games.
*Forms like Wishiwashi school forms, are no longer triggered by an ability, this is merely a trait of some Pokemons.
*The game could have a mount system to run/swim, dive in some areas and fly.
*Some evolution line could be changed to be more “logical”. To Evolve Slowpoke in Slowbro, you need to reach a certain level AND have a Shelleder that would fuse with it.
      -Same for Mantyke with Remoraid.
-Kangaskhan will have a new baby Pokemon, when evolving, it will not have a baby in its pouch, but you can “fuse” them to have a baby in the pouch, gaining some benefit.
      - Kangaskhan pre-evo will evolve in Cubone by giving it a fossil of a Kangaskhan skull.
There could only be Nidoran and not anymore ♀ and ♂. This could be Dimorphic Pokemons.
-Miltank, Tauros and Bouffalant will have a baby form as well, linking their line together.
      - Luvdisk and Alomola could have a link as well.
*Baby Pokemon do not count as one of the three stages for an evolutionary line.
*Their is also more unique forms and Pokemons (like Shedinja has a by-product of Ninjask evolution or alternate evolution of Shellder through stopped evolution of Slowpoke, Eiscue, Wormadam, Aegislash etc).
      - Each Vivillon form could have an exclusive move in their movepool and each forms can be found in several regions and several biomes.
-Florges could have different stats /second type/ability or movepool for each forms.
-Furfrou could have a different type depending on its form.
-Cubone could have different form depending on the skull/fossil/bone used on it. It could lead to different evolutions.
*Some older and weaker Pokemons lines could have better stats, or new powerful forms or new evolutions.
*There is also game mods that allow to always play with 2 or 3 Pokemons in battle but trainers also have several Pokemons and you can find packs of wild Pokemons (5 to 6 Pokemons like in Alola). There is also a mod with a Stamina bar for using moves instead of PP.

I like the idea of Duplicorn instead being named Doppelrammer. It sticks more to the sheep theme, and it’s name is made up of the words “doppelgänger”, “ram”, and “hammer”.
I can also see it getting a signature move named Ram Hammer.
As for the Seasonal Forms, I could definitely imagine a Winter Form Bunnelby that’s all-white. It could be the first Normal/Ice-type, and I definitely imagine it getting Snow Cloak in Winter Form.

You were absolutely spot on on Kanto's theming, Kanto is almost borderline dystopian with some of its Pokemon designs like Mewtwo, Muk and Magneton. Even the starters follow this theme with an animal with a plant grafted onto its back like something out of Frankenstein, a lizard genetically modified into a dragon and a cyborg turtle.
Duplicorn is a great concept but it's design could be better, as though it looks like a Wooloo evolution it doesn't match Kanto Pokemon at all in style. Perhaps as part of its adaptation to the Kanto region it would look more like the traditional Sugimori style.

      @bluepittgames3551 Před 10 měsíci +1

Latching onto this comment to add in the seemingly overlooked perfect tie in for origin forms.
Origin forms could cause ancient power to change into a unique signature move. With a pokemon returning to its origin it unlocks it's ancient powers.
These wouldn't be straight up damage moves or basic status moves but they would be a long the lines of field moves. For example Origin Lucario could have ancient power turn into Aura Field giving increased evasion and accuracy to Origin Lucario. Origin Dialga could have Time Shift that causes multihit moves to hit their max for allies and minimum for foes. Origin Palkia could have Spacial Expansion turning a single battle into a double battle or a double into a triple for X turns. Giratina could have Distortion which causes all sorts of things to distort, physical becomes special, slow becomes fast, field effects flip friend and for, etc.
Is it an incredibly powerful idea? Absolutely, but so was Mega Evolution and Gmax. Give origin forms to select Pokemon and make it a one per team kinda thing and it becomes pretty well balanced.

Or it can even take an entire different approach like for luxray, they could turn it into a sabortooth to represent cold or winter. Seasonal changes may seem very limiting, but there's so much that can be done to make it work possibly. Although that is just an opinion. 🥲

I think an idea for how Origin forms could be more accessible is a special item that supposedly was made by Arceus called maybe an Origin Orb, which when used on a Pokemon can give it special powers and transform into their Origin form. The idea is that the orb is filled with pure elemental power that awakens a mysterious energy inside of the Pokemon, similar to infinity energy, that causes it to change into their Origin form. The main difference here would be that it's a key item like in PLA so it's not a single use and can be used on the same Pokemon to turn it back
As for what changes with the Pokemon itself, I'm thinking something simple like a shared new ability that gives them a boost to a specific stat when they enter battle

For the Origin forms, I would choose to make them like the Devas from Digimon (12 Digimon divided into 4 groups, each three for one Digimon in the Digimon Sovereigns group), 4 Pokèmon to every creation legendary in the trio, if Lucario is in Dialga's group, and the user is holding Dialga's orb, Lucario can change forms, like Mega evolution, but without special effects, and it can be used multiple times in one battle. Btw, they're all amazing!

    • @Rain593
      @Rain593 Před rokem +1

This is the most logical idea.
All three origin formes change the stats around slightly without chaning the BST.
Origin Lucario could be something like:
      HP: 70 > 70
      Atk: 110 > 90
      Def: 70 > 80
      SpA: 115 > 120
      SpD: 70 > 85
      Spe: 90 > 80
      BST: 525
Since you suggested being part of Dialga's group, Origin Lucario could be slower with buffed defenses and SpA.

Here is the thing about origin forms, they don't change the typing of a Pokemon but they do rearrange its stats and change its ability. They are also triggered by holding an item that increases its stab power, and luckily there is already a lore appropriate item that can be used: plates. If Lucario holds a Fist or Iron plate it becomes its Origin Form, making either its Fighting or Steel type moves stronger. As for what its stats and new ability would be I am having trouble thinking of a satisfactory spread and ability that doesn't just copy Mega Lucario.

I thought of something for the seasonal variants. The bear based Pokemon. Since they'd normally be hibernating in the winter they should have different forms based on winter and summer.
    Seasonal Bearitic:
Winter form is Ice/Steel. In the winter their ice gets so hard it becomes like steel. Maybe Ice/Fighting instead? This is their peak time of year so it would make sense for them to get stronger.
Summer form is Ice/Water. They started to melt. This is when they should be hibernating.
Autumn form is Ice/Grass. They got fallen leaves and twigs mixed in their icy coats.
Spring form is standard Ice type.
    Seasonal Ursaring:
Winter form is still Normal type. It's their size that's changed as they got smaller from having been more active when they should be inactive and they used the stored fat deposits quickly to regulate their temperature better. Has decreased attack, defense and hit points but increased speed, special attack and special defense? Maybe make them Normal/Psychic or Normal/Fairy?
Summer form is Normal/Fighting. This is them at their peak. They're larger and stronger than normal hence the addition of the Fighting type.
Spring form is Normal/Dark? They're trying to compensate for their lack of size by using dirty tactics while fighting.
Autumn form is standard Normal type.
    Seasonal Pangoro:
Winter form is Dark/Normal. They lose the Fighting type due to being smaller and so it becomes a Normal type. They remain opportunistic/dirty fighters.
Summer form is Fighting/Fairy. They're on vacation so they no longer act like thugs or something. I don't really know why. Think of something better.
Spring form is Normal/Fighting. It's the end of the "school year" so they've become a little less rambunctious before summer vacation.
Autumn form is standard Dark/Fighting. It's the beginning of the "school year" and so they're keeping up their thuggish ways as a way to be "cool" form their summer break.
Think Danny Zuko from Grease. In the summer he was a "goody" with Sandy on the beach. Then in Autumn when school started he was "too cool for school" and tried hard to keep up his Greaser ways. In winter he had started to change and by spring he had fully changed his ways. Or something like that. I just thought of this as I was typing and just let it flow without giving it much thought.
Maybe something similar for other Pokemon based on animals that would be affected by the changing climate/weather. Dewgong, Empoleon and so on. They can't all be Grass types in this category right?

I personally think the Origin forms are tied to both Arceus and Giritina in a sense. The way I see it, a Origin Form for a Pokemon would be something that looks somewhat different from a regular Pokemon, but the same way Giritina changes to look more ghostly in the Reverse World and the same way Dalgia and Palkia change to resemble something a bit more divine and overpowering, I'm thinking you can use the Elemental Plates that help change Arceus' type, equip it on to a Pokemon that's compatible with it, and awaken a powered-up state sometimes with a unique form to go with it.

  • @redwolfe16

For origin formes (including the real ones that exist) base stat total doesn't change, but stats are redistributed. You could do the same with other origin formes for Pokemon to fill different roles. Like with Lucario. He can be built specially or physically in his base form, mega being more of a physical attacker. Maybe the origin forme embraces the aura powers and boosts it's special attack at the cost of lowering it's attack. Kind of playing into the Pokemon's "original role" since Lucario was, originally, the first fighting type that could be built viably as a special attacker. Another example could be Luxray getting more speed at the cost of some of it's special attack or bulk, or Pachirisu becoming more bulky, or even a newer mon (like Incineroar) that gets an "origin forme" that is quadrapedal and fast.

Like a rockruff that learned to swim and developed porous stones to help float, or an octillery that crawled onto land and adapted to a lack of moisture. This would reflect the idea of teams magma/aqua and their desire to change the ecology of the planet, and the Pokémon that would live in their new world. Or maybe domestic/feral versions of popular Pokémon, like a friendlier Knickit or an aggressive

From the lore we have, it is a form that represents those Pokemon (Dialga, Palkia and Giratina) at full power, when they are inside their domains. It's basically deities' true forms (they get a stat boost, or at least a stat redistribution to make them stronger)

For the Mythical and Origin form ideas... not so hot on those, partially because there isn't much given that could explain them being at least semi-widespread. Though for the Origin form change thing... Giritina dose change it's ability between regular and origin forms, so maybe that can help out?

Everything will be Mega Evolution, but.... Regional Variant, but... or Z-Move, but. The only thing I can even really consider is officially confirming that there are four stages to pokemon by giving some three stage line an evolution if it has a baby form or giving a three stage line a baby form (which is what Nidoran has semi-officially).
Gen 8: Z-move, but pokemon big for 3 turns! and Mega evolution, but they can use Z-moves and are big for 3 turns.

I think what would be really cool and it's been touched upon more than once in older and newer games is the environment, namely pollution levels. We have Grimer that's said to come from pollution in a literal sense. I believe it's the same with Trubbish, and for Alolan Grimer, it's more due to their new diet. So maybe a new poison type combination or steel type to better resist a harsher environment due to pollution.
Imagine if they could create a "polluted form" of something like Flabébé and the Pokédex for them could be that they were brought in to help with pollution using their flowers or their abilities to find certain flowers but in doing so, they adapted to the toxic environment in order to survive. They could become either pure steel or pure poison, or acquire one of those types alongside the fairy typing. We have 7 fairy/steel types, some of which are evolution based and only one that's fairy/poison, so adding more would likely be more ideal. And the flowers could be plants known to live such environments because they can or are said to clean contaminated soil, giving the Flabébé line a wider, and maybe for their species at least, unique move pool based on each flower, similar to Rotom's forms having a signature move for each one. A sunflower Flabébé could have a fire move or learn one, a white clover Flabébé could have a water move, one with a violet could use a steel type move (if it isn't already a steel type that is), etc.

origin form - some sort of post game (not DLC just after elite four) that allows access to these origin forms, like access to a cave of some sort that takes you to them, etc.

All pokemon with Origin Forms get Ancient Power added to their moveset if they don't have it. When in their Origin Form, the Ancient Power move changes type, damage, and possibly any added effects. Like Lucario's Ancient Power is a Fighting move with Priority.

Dia de Los Muertos is in fall too! So the skull on Torterra works on a level you didn't even realize

Ahh yes, a rainstorm could kill the charmander family, it’s not like we’ve seen a charazard fully submerged in water being completely fine

that is pretty funny, that Charmander dies in the rain so he becomes a ghost type lol. Even though Charizard doesn't really need *more* attention, it is a pretty cool concept.

Honestly seasonal forms are brilliant concept, I think at this point the games could do seasonal migration pokemon in games too, it'd give the games more longevity if the full full Pokédex could be unlocked from the beginning but have the out of region Pokémon be migrational over the year

I love the idea of seasonal forms because I always felt an ice type Torterra or at least one with an ice attack would be cool.

Cool as Seasonal forms are as a concept, we already have a lot of Grass Ghost type pokemon.

Just to add, gen 8 got Regional Evolutions, which took the idea of a regional form and stretched it. Just to clarify I don't mean cross-gen evolutions like Girafarig->Farigiraf or Regional Evolved pokemon like A-Vulpix evolving into A-Ninetales, I mean like G-Meowth evolving into Perrserker rather than Galarian Perrsian

For me Unova would be awesome if it used the dna splicers for more Pokémon, maybe limiting it to several Pokémon that can fuse with several similar Pokémon like stoutland being able to fuse with arcanine, granbull, lycanroc or houndoom.

Gen 5 TOTALLY should have fusion forms outside of Kyurem, heck they could make a whole game out of it.
    Oh Wait

    1 & 2 no comments about...
3 - Wheather forms is such a cool concept! I imagine something like Cryogonal or Vaniluxe being exposed to sun they melt and turn in to Water types
4 - Origin forms resemble a lot Mega evolution/Past Paradox so I think not
5 - Season based forms looks amazing but for the dependence of the Seasons is something that we do not have control, but it could have a better name and be something like hibernation season and habitat changes like Bears Pokémon has a new form for hibernation that cause by a type of fruit they eat and so that only grows in specifics locations not the season itself, could be like every bear has his own "ursaluna" form or evolution

I like the Ideas you have, but I have a few notes on some of these new form and some of the Pokémon you shown
Synthetic Pokémon seem no different to me than regional variants. That being said I still like the idea of them and am all for them. Not only that, but the idea that they all evolve into different Pokémon because of their artificial nature is an interesting idea.
Divine forms seem to just be mega evolutions by a different name, and I am all for it. But on a side note regarding the design of Divine Gogoat, there might be a problem with its horns. However if the horns are flexible in some way then this would work in the divine theme as they already remind me of the whiskers of an eastern dragon
I think you might need to think about what triggers weather and seasonal forms, like maybe have the right Pokémon hold onto an item when the weather changes or evolves in the right season. On a side note, there's been a bit of a misconception/retcon regarding the flame on the tail of Charmander and it's evolutions. Basically the flame is more of a physical representation of their life force and will still remain lit even while completely submerged in water. That being said, I believe that weather form for Charmander still works as some kind of reactionary form change
Origin forms are the one type I think doesn't work. All three Pokémon that currently have an origin form have a direct connection to Arceus itself and even resemble Arceus in their origin form. You might be able to do something similar, but I wouldn't call these things origin forms

  • @tsugaloe

I feel like they gain a new ability specific to its origin form. Lucario could gain Signature/Priority Specialist where signature or priority moves hit for more damage but cannot be used in a row.

  • @sanstheskeletongamer3028
    @sanstheskeletongamer3028 Před měsícem

the origin forms could be used as a bond thing. for example: Lucario could get its origin form when it's holding a specific item while at max happiness.
