Pokemon formula -
1. Kill Ash
2. Bring him back with tears.
Works like a charm .
It's Pokemon's fault that as a kid I started to think that animated movies never had the guts to stick with death
That one guy in the executive's board meeting: Ok guys, here me out. How about this time, we kill Ash. . . permanently.
The executives: You're fired.
Ash has died about the same amount of years he's been 10 years old
Ash would be 20 right now, but he reverse ages 1 year every time he dies.
@@DaSheepKiller lmao that’s actually the best explanation for this
@@DaSheepKiller then what about goh and chloe? They are the same age as ash but are said to be 10
I love how in the movie Mewtwo regrets killing Ash and then there's Mew who looks like it couldn't care less about a kid dying but had to revive him.
Mewtwo is pretty much a child and Mew is probably the first Pokémon to exist after Arceus made the Creation Trio.
What's one random human dying supposed to mean for Mew when they've probably seen countless things die and will probably see countless more pass on or end.
That's because Mew was a psycho in the original Japanese version of that movie. It shows up specifically to murder Mewtwo and the clones because it thinks they don't have a right to live. Naturally, that was pretty... extreme, so the dub makes Mew good instead.
I mean, if it knows it can bring anyone back to life, would it really care that much?
Luxray will always be the saddest death.
The frozen body, the smile 😭
his sacrifice will not be in vain, rest in peace you cool looking of an electric type. big luxray fan btw
The only part that made me cry from i choose you was the luxray, not even ash
@@Qwerty-yf9pl really you said it cause we all known ash can't die he will be rivide some how in the and of the movie for sure..
Mew: Look at how much people I revived
Xerneas: Hold my antlers
@@drsupriyobhattacharya8785 Yveltal: Holy Arceus! It's the sacred Bidoof of the Sinnoh!
People really do be brushing off the death of Sorrel's Luxray tho. We see its dead, frozen body with a peaceful look on its face, seemingly knowing it would die, still willing to do anything to protect its friend. That really struck a cord with me.
dude i cried so hard. I had to pause the movie and cry for like 20 minutes
4:18 They send out their Pokémon from their pokeballs to be save.
That makes that whole scene even more touching.
@@iamjayrts1846 I'm pretty sure her and James both take out their Pokemon. I recall Dustox being super sad Jessie was gone.
Yeah, the last time I watched it, I rewinded it to watch the deaths since the way May gets taken and how her Pokemon are crying just hits hard.
Pikachu: *crying* mew:shut up here is your trainer back
Mew: SHUT THE FUCK UP, HERE HAVE YOUR BITCHY TRAINER BACK AND HERE I MADE HIM IMMORTAL SO HE CAN HAVE A HAREM, NOW ENJOY
Stoutlands death in the sun and moon anime will ALWAYS make me cry
Minior actually made me narrate this differently at that part, I was just taking that whole scene in when I saw it
(Worst part for me is I found out they died online, It was censored on tv episode I watched and I found It betraying)
@@Jethrotex hey you forgot about melo's mom and the 4th kahuna's grand father.
0:14 ah yes my favorite anime that makes a character death a major plot point... *peppa pig*
Ash is just immortal. He's forever 10 and can't die
Ash can absolutely die. However, as a perma-10yo, he simply lacks the patience and maturity to stay dead.
Man you missed one! The Snubull dying in the fire in the Lugia Movie to retrieve a key, is also shown as a spirit
Stoutland dying from old age and Luxray dying to protect its trainer from the cold always get me sobbing. Pokemon has really gotten skilled at tugging at the heartstrings ;___;
“We dreamed of creating the world’s strongest Pokémon…and we succeeded….”

Z-psychic/can change to any type
That would be op asf
Many a kids first ever experience with Gone Horribly Right. This was early dubbing days and that dude NAILED how it should've been delivered!
No wonder ash doesn't age.
He gets killed and revived in a daily basis, death has enough of his BS
Ash: (dies)
The Pokémon equivalent of the Grim Reaper: (sigh) Not this guy again.
Those original deaths were really dark.
Edit: also, ash jumping into the attacks is the stupidest thing he could have done. Maybe it would make more sense if I saw the movie but from what I know, that is the dumbest thing he could have done.
what do you mean the time where ash gets turned to stone like he does later on or the time his soul gets sucked out and later returns? I think some of the later deaths are more tragic (The old dog Pokemon)
Krillin from Dragonball: Looks like I had the most deaths out of the group.
Ash Ketchum: Hold my hat.
there was that trainer on a fearow that didnt make it to Mewtwo's island, not sure if they died, could assume they turned back, but Its worthy of a mention
You forgot about Mallow’s mother. In the episode “Memories In the Mist” Mallow reveals to Lana that her mom got sick and was in the hospital when Mallow was young. She kept apologizing to Mallow for being sick all the time and this caused a young Mallow to lash out at her mom. The last words Mallow said to her mom before she died were “I hate you!” Mallow later met her dead mother in Tapu Fini’s mist and they had a heart to heart where they thanked each other for all the moments they shared together.
Mewtwo: Look at all the death I caused.
Yveltal: Hold my Full Restore.
In sun and moon, it is shown that Mallow's mom has also passed away
That scene where she saw her mom again made me bawl. I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about it.
Damn. This hurts after just learning about his passing.
The luxray scene hits so hard. It’s peacefulness, and the smile too. Luxray’s
my favorite Pokémon for a reason. RIP
I like how darkrai wasn't a villain at the end of the movie he didn't decide to be the Pokémon of nightmares it was a role forced on him
It makes the "I Choose You!" movie look like the actual end of Pokemon's first season since Ash got revived by that Ho-oh he witnessed in the very first episode (also titled "I Choose You!") at the end of said episode.
It also makes Mewtwo Strikes Back look like a red herring movie.
Damn those Chesnaught and Luxray deaths are H E A V Y
How many times you wanna die?
Ash: yes
Mew seems to be chill when ash dies and Mewtwo feels guilt mew is heartless 🤣
Lol Mew's just like "Um, don't worry, this happens twice a week! Janitor, what's your name? Bob? Can you take this body so the pokemon have nothing to worry about?" LOL and Mewtwo's just like "OH HELL NAH"
Bob turns out to be a personification of a Deus Ex Machina, becoming an acronym for Big Ol' Bullshit.
lol if you could just press the "cancel" button on death, would you care when someone dies?
Do the ones in Jirachi Wish Maker really count? There’s a scene where we see everyone inside just floating around. It was more like they were captured than killed
Yeah and I am pretty sure someyhing sinilar happens in the Tree of Life in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew but I might be remembering it wrong because its been a while.
@@TheZebbga yes when they got stuck in those orange blob things they didnt die. except for lucario and his owner aaron, they both did actually die.
@@sheinaragners Yeah, I remember something like that. But yeah, Sir Arron is definitely dead.
Ambertwo wouldn't even be Amber, she'd be a different person entirely. A clone is essentially just an identical twin, they don't share conciousness
Every good anime has at least some deaths...
Totally, I feel like I’m one of the only people that enjoys when one of my favorite dies, because it actually impacts you emotionally
The Luxray death in I Choose You made me sob pretty hard. You only got to know it for maybe a couple minutes but just the fact it sacrificed itself by staying out of it's ball during a blizzard to keep the kid alive...goddamn.
9:50 that might be the most heartbreaking one.
Honestly, the most shocking for me was Hunter J. It came totally out of the blue, just BOOM Future Sight and she crashes into the water. Then her airship crashes into the water and the windows break and it floods the ship and explodes. I was STUNNED, but I loved it! Diamond and Pearl is the greatest season!!

Talonflame falling from viability after Gen 6
Talonflame: is no longer viable for the current meta
Corviknight: *hey*
I'm surprised Pikachu is still with Ash even after how many times he died.
Nobody:
Ash dying 1,000 times and not mentioning it once:
He also has casually met every legendary and mythical ever and saved the world multiple times.
And is also Alolas first champion XD
Hunter J's was truly satisfying yet dark at the same time. As in, the creators made it so that there was no way she or her crew could survive at all.
Same but there is actually a _Slight_ chance she survived by... An interesting method. She did specialize preserving her bounties after all. Also she somehow had tech that predicted teleport somehow so...
@@pichuperez9037 please let it be so. I want her to return in Journeys. Like have Goh see a Salamence flying around and, naturally, try catching it only to p!$$ it off. But once it sees Ash and Pikachu, it flies off to who knows where. Then the next time they see it, Goh once again tries catching it, but Ash gets him to hold off when he notices someone riding it only to be horrified when it's revealed to be J. She could even have an updated appearance with longer hair (she'd look good with it, don't deny it😳), a new visor since she lost the old one, and an even more dangerous version of her old arm cannon since the old one probably got waterlogged. Her new arm cannon could even have less charge time thus allowing for rapid fire. On top of that, only she could change her targets back to normal with a press of a button on her arm cannon and gives out a control device that does the same for her clients. Therefore, if any of Ash's, Goh's, or Chloe's Pokémon are captured by her, they would either have to get their hands on a remote or risk their lives by stealing her arm cannon. And this time, she could even get a little physical and try beating Ash into the ground herself.
@@Nighlocktheawesome00 Uh while the beating up of Ash seems a bit out of character, the other stuff would be cool. Wouldn't be surprised if like Goh's Voltorb, Chloe's Eevee, or literally most of Ash's journeys team was captured. Or actually now that i think about it maybe another Ultra Beast during like, a new ultra recon squad mission, and Ash's Melmetal in the process.
@@pichuperez9037 I'd say J beating Ash to within an inch of his life is very much within character for her. She has tried killing more than once, and if her Pokémon failed to do it, she would most likely try to do it herself. Hell, we could even get a battle between her and Cynthia like we should've had all those years ago.
@@Nighlocktheawesome00 yeah but i mean she's the calm, collected, not insane bad guy. While yes she is terrible and has attacked him before, that was just because he literally invaded her ship and tried to stop the deal. Her only qualm with Ash is that he occasionally hinders her, but even then it barely fazes her, heck in her debut episode just before she gets away and drops Ash and some of her crew in the hangar she says "guess i have to find a new Absol and Gardevoir", and as far as I'm aware Ash has only successfully stopped her completely _ONCE_ in the Shieldon episode. And while, yes she has no qualms in people dying in the process of her bounty hunting, i feel as if she wouldn't attempt a personal physical assault unless it's literally the *ONLY* possible option she has.
The one that really hits is Stoutland, lets be real
Lysandre hit me most, being my fave char of all. But these Pokémon deaths also super sad.
The amount of times ash has died proves he's truly immortal and forever 10.
We make fun of Krillin always dying, but need to address the elephant that is Ash
What about the Snubull that died in Pokémon the power of us? That was a pretty sad death ngl
What about the totem pokemon Trevenant from the S&M ep "A Timeless Encounter!" or Acerola's Mimikins or Mallow's mother or Kiawe's grandfather or Hapu's grandfather
Part of me always hoped J would come back someday. Like god damn so few appearances but who else has actually tried to legit kill Ash or force him into a situation where he himself has to harm a Pokemon?
She's part of the reason why the d&p seasons were one of the best in my book. I don't understand how there's many people that said d&p was one of the worst when it comes to Anime
@@driley1988 she was honestly super wasted. She was a really cool character, but the pokemon anime does what it always did, it pussied out when making her or Cyrus. They were far too afraid to write a sympathetic villain, or even make them more charismatic. So Cyrus was just plain awful in the anime, a complete 180 to what he should have been. And J was just the most wasted villain of all time who got the shaft because she will never appear in any superior media of pokemon.
@@irondragondxd3836 I agree about Cyrus I felt like they could've done a little more with him he looks like he could be a sympathetic villain. Ass for as J I feel like they really wanted to make a villain that you could actually take seriously. Most villains in pokemon were jokes, and I think that's why J was loved. She wasn't a pushover like most villains in the Anime and she just didn't give a damn. Tried to kill ash multiple times, the woman was out for blood. The moment when she and her crew drowned and blown up in her ship you knew that they were killed. It was pretty cool but like you said she was kind of wasted, it would've been nice to see more of her.
Knowing Jethrotex himself has passed away makes this video hit so much harder…💔

There are 23 fewer deaths in Jirachi Wish Maker than you listed. The people and pokémon captured by the false groudon didn’t die, it was slowly draining their life over time, but the movie repeatedly cuts to the fake groudon’s innards, showing that those it ate are still alive in there.
Oh boy, none of the anime deaths hit me to hard with the exception of Stoutland and Mallow's mother,
(Major spoilers for the ORAS arc in the Pokemon manga, dip now if you don't want to see them)
but in the manga, the Hoenn Champion, Steven Stone, passes after he spends 2 weeks to a month controlling the Regi Trio in attempt to quell Groudon and Kyoger. He is my absolute favorite character so his death hurt way more then it should have. In the end Celebi did work its time magic and revived him but ow my heart :(
Mans went out like a legend though, controlling 3 separate legendary pokemon is a feat in and of itself.

Otherwise you did amazing! It's kinda creepy to think one of the more child friendly animes had so many deaths. Summary of the video: ... died and brought back shortly after.
There was another death in episode 232, Just Waiting on a Friend. Ninetales’ owner leaves and never returns, and we hear that, after a century of waiting, Ninetales comes to the correct conclusion that its owner is no longer alive. I’m not sure that Ash actually died in space, though. I think he was just freezing and Victini warmed him up.
