I was in Nice for 9 days with my wife and 13-year-old son last June (2019). Was blessed to be able to stay with a friend who lives there with his family (wife & 2 kids). It was a great time. We went (bus or train) to Ventimiglia in Italy, Monaco, St. Paul-de-Vence. Most people (European tourists and natives) won't approach you, but they're generally happy to engage in conversation with you.
Was it warm enough to swim ? I was thinking of going in late June
@@omairafigueroa9089 Yeah most days it’s pretty warm

Thank you so much! It’s an amazing city
Original Nike-Town During the Greek Empire in 500BC, the hill above the Old Town was named Nike, which is Greek for ‘victory’, making Nice the original Nike-Town. During its multi-century Italian period it was called Nizza, and since becoming French just 150 years ago, it is called Nice. The people of Nice are Niçoise, have their own dialect called Nissart.

“Nice” interesting fact!

The tram from the airport to the centre of Nice is only 1 Euro 50 cents, an absolute bargain. Also the 100 bus from Nice to Monaco or Menton is also 1 Euro 50 cents. We holiday in Nice every year and stay at Pebbles Holiday Rentals - we recommend then.
That’s a great tip. Thank you so much for sharing.
j’habite à nice il y a aussi une carte de 10 voyages = 10€ et des pass. Pass 1 jours = 5 € pass 1 semaine = 15 €
Where is pebbles holiday rentals
I love nice I go there often times
Just got back. Uber driver said after 50 years, bus 100 was given a new number. Something like 617. Look it up to be sure or take an Uber.

Off season is a great time to experience Nice because hotels are at a lesser cost and so are air flights. Nice is a very beautiful place to sightsee and go to art museums. This trip that I will take in February I will go to the Observatory I'm looking forward to seeing the telescopes and the planets. Also, the night sky will be perfect for star gazing and maybe a Milky Way astrophotography shot. Shopping at the flea market is always great - the first time I was in Nice we came back with all kinds of packable treasures. BTW: shopping is best off season for sale goods.
Great tips. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for watching the video.
Love the daily markets at Liberation Sq. And the Antique fair each Monday in old town !
Can get buses for 1 ot 2 eu at the stop near the airport to St Paul de Vence, or Grasse to see where the perfume comes from. Great day trips from Nice. Also 1/2hour to Monte Carlo by train, or
Cannes the other direction. Nice is very central to stay at. I got air BNB in February-march, they have a big Carnival going on Yearly ! Cold, but beautiful golden sunshine & no tourists!
"Nice Nice tips" :D Sry, had to go for the obvious here... But really practical tips which I will definitely remember when going next month. Thank you!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Good video. If you want to swim but dont like rocks, take the train to Villefranche or Cap Ferrat; great sand beaches.
Thanks for the tips! I love all the beaches across the Riviera.
One of my favorite places in the world! I pretty much go every year, minus Covid.
Also, the steps you took up to that fantastic view are a great workout!
I love Nice as well. I lived there in my 20's. Yes, those steps are a doozy.

When do you go… me, the winter!
Thank-you for this very helpful info !!! You answered very important questions on my mind - yes , most of Europe cannot afford air-conditioning so you will have to search for it - and it will definitely cost you more Euros !!! Now , with these heat waves and large crowds in August you must be cautious. Nice is very beautiful - too bad about the stones on the beach , but your advice is excellent with the proper foot wear !!! You must try the creme de la creme perfect pastries and chocolat to get some energy :) I have never been to Nice , but I sure want to visit - maybe in December 😁👍
Have a great time when you visit, thanks for watching the video
Thanks we are going to nice in March
Have a great time!
The trip is delayed because of covid-19
Heard about Nice while studying in college...some kind of exchange program. Anyway, I suppose visiting Nice will be on my to-do list once I get established.
You'll love it.
Nice is great in the off season ..May, September, October. We come 4 or 5 times a year and avoid august. Also, there are nice walking streets behind the Negresco Hotel (one block) and it takes you to Place Messina then to the old town
It Is safe to travel to Nice Alone?
Thank you..

The Marc Chagall Museum was memorable.
Such a great museum. Thanks for watching the video.
What is the weather like in December? We are travelling there in mid-December from Norway with my husband. Thanks for answers in advance!
Me and my parents went there on our European Vacation when I was 9 years old. And yes I do remember walking on the beach barefoot we thought it would be sand but no it was rocks and it hurt to walk on it.
Those rocks can be very serious. Water shoes are a must :-)
Will be there in October. . First trip out of the pandemic. I sure hope everything is open I’d love to see some museums
Have fun! It's such a gorgeous city.

Hi, how’s the weather like in October? Also what are some of the activities to do nice? Planning to visit next month! First week of October!! You reckon, is it still warm then?
My family owns a property right outside of nice, although this isn’t a nice tip it’s still a sometbing thing to do while you’re there, when we spend our summers in nice we sometimes like to rent a car and take a day trip to either the Tuscany region of Italy, or even a bordering town in Italy like ventimigglia which is only half an hour away, another place I love going to while I spend time in the French Riviera is cassis, absolutely stunning.
I love renting a car in the area. It’s the best way to get into the countryside. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, make sure to subscribe to the channel.
Thank you, this was great.
We are heading to Nice in early June, with children. Would you recommend the hotel you stayed in?
Thanks.
Hotels by the Promenade des Anglais or nearby is perfect. Don't forget to check for AC. The summer is really hot.
@@Zarih67 Thank you!
I was using points, so I stayed at a Marriott property on the Promenade des Anglais.
@@TheAbundantTraveler Le Méridien ! I’ll be there soon. Hope it was nice.
Don't forget the villages Biot, Valbonne, Grasse, and Mougins. And travel by bus or train is cheap and really easy.
Zarih Sundberg so true! I’ll add those to my next trip :). Thanks for sharing!!
Hi abundant traveler,
I was at Target earlier 9:40 am,I swear I saw and heard your voice with another lady 7/22 today
That’s funny. Must be the southern accent :-) thanks for watching the video
The video I was looking. I am mexican going to Nice. I heard some videos but they didn’t say anything about Nice.
Thank you for watching the video and your kind comments. Have a great time in Nice.
Hi there!! 👋😊 thanks so very much!! I’m
Coming first week in September, what’s the best champagne or wine to purchase?
Whatever is on the menu :) All the wine will be delicious! Please subscribe to the channel for more travel tips.
@@TheAbundantTraveler thanks so very much!! I will! 😉
Is there an app or something like that to search what bus should I take, or if u have to buy a card and where should I buy it, things like that, prices, etc?
I honestly don’t know where to buy the bus tickets. My suggestion is checking on Google.
Corsica and sardinia have loads of sandy beaches.
I’m thinking about going there in September. Have you been?
@@TheAbundantTraveler No,, probably never will, I just like reading about many places from w. europe and japan.
Going there in June while in Portugal, and the sea food there is as good as it is Portugal I hear?
The sea food was delicious and knees, but I haven’t been to Portugal in a long time. Different style of fish for sure since it’s a Mediterranean instead of the Atlantic. Have a great time!
Beautiful 🏙️🌆
Thank you so much and thank you for watching the video
Is the water temperature in September good for swimming? My initial plan was to visit in July to enjoy a summertime beach experience but for reasons out of control, I’m travelling to Nice in mid- September. Would it still be warm enough to swim? I need to know what to pack in my luggage. Thanks
Yes, I would think that the water would be warm enough in September. Thanks for watching the video.
Definitely warm enough to swim in September. Even October. In fact better than, say, April as the water’s still warm from the summer.
Mega geil dein mario scrofani super
When was this filmed for weather reference?
I found this in June. Thanks for watching the video.
What traditional french restaurants would you recommend thats not overly expensive?
I recommend going into the old town and eating where you see a lot of people and the food smells good. There are so many options in old town both Hyer and Budget friendly.
Nice information. I also have a video of my trip to Nice.
I will check it out
is April a good month to visit Nice? I mean, is the water temperature ok to go swimming? Do people go to the beach in April? Thanks
I'd also want to know
I love visiting niece anytime of the year :-) thanks so much for watching, and please subscribe if you haven’t already.

Where i can buy the French Riviera pass ?
en.frenchrivierapass.com/buy-my-pass Have fun!
When is a good time to visit?
I think Nice is great in May & September, the shoulder seasons.
Best things to buy in Nice? Can I buy nice leather bags like in Rome?
Because niece is so close to Italy, you can buy leather in town. I typically buy my leather in Italy though.
@@TheAbundantTraveler thank you!
😎
Where did you stay as a student in Nice l
I lived with a family.
How to tip service there?
I typically tip around 15% in France. Really depends on where you are, and what you’re doing. Cafés, I just round up the euro, meals I give a proper tip.
@@TheAbundantTraveler thank you for the reply. This is very useful.
