I love how you can feel the emotion. The notes are one thing to learn, but talent is feeling the notes and projecting them to the audience. It’s really wonderful.
@@nataliabarnett6113 the breaths also.. Yknow… are something humans need to do and since there’s not really a place to do it, he needs to take one somewhere lol
This is the fun and technical kind of music that makes me love playing the flute so much. Thank you for creating such an amazing piece that has reminded me why I do what I do.
@@sillygirlcentral sometimes it can be hard to find pieces that suit your style, or they might be being held back by someone else. I have both of these problems lol
It’s pieces like this that remind however bad it gets, there is still magical sounding music out there. Now this is worth spending quarantine practicing 👌🏽 absolutely love this, gotta learn it
this is one flute but it sounds like a whole band after awhile because you can hear the other parts of the song in your head and that is SO creative. i love this so much
I watched Rama as he grew into a vibrant young talented musician. I expected no less from such a brilliant young man. He has a great future ahead of him. Such a glorious piece to show off his virtuosity.
I have been listening to your peices. And personally as a flutist I love how use all the range that a flute can do You dont leave any room for what it could be doing. Who is the flute player playing it? I love the sounds!
If I'm right, this kind of playing requires a great deal of controlled release of the breath to articulate each of those nuanced slurs and those orders of the 8th notes. A divine composition and a virtuosic playing! Big respect to you both... The icing on the cake: I'm proud to disclose that the artist who plays this immense composition happens to be my nephew (a.ka. "the first cousin, once removed", grammatically speaking!)...
This just makes me wanna play flute more and upgrade to a better flute I'm a junior who can't play scales but can play a sheet of music. This makes me wanna learn more about it and play more advanced things. I will absolutely show this to my band director I'm sure she'll love it.
Like many of Mr. Beeftink's amazing compositions, I start off thinking "oh, I might be able to play this," only to realize.. ah.. not yet! :D Truly remarkable work, again.
This truthfully compelled me to attempt flute or bass flute, even if it is merely for a hobby, purely for their crystal and resplendent tone, though this would be rather difficult in addition to the other instruments I play.
@@HermanBeeftinkComposer This is a very late and awkward reply, but would it be possible to arrange this for a bassoonist? If convenient for you, of course.
Wyspos Definitely, I can get you a version for the low register, glad you want to play it. Just email me at hbeeftink@aol.com so I can send the sheetmusic to you.
I have watched your videos for years now! As a now flute performance major at my college I have decided I want to do this lovely piece for one of my recitals in the future!
Would you be inspired to compose a piece inspired by the traditional japanese sakukachi flute? I'm sure you would. czcams.com/video/miUKO5g0ONk/video.html Thank you for the lovely music.
May i ask what is hmm..how do i put it.. is there anything you had in mind creating this piece? is there a story? Or is it a technique training piece? Lovely composition and playing as well.
Spaghetti Water Thank you! Yes there’s both. Here’s a link to a version that has program notes, explaining each movement of the Suite (if you click on arrow below the video. ) czcams.com/video/c1b51y5sV5E/video.html
I like everything you write, sir! Just found you a few days ago here on Yt, and started with your ensembles, really enjoying how you write well for all the flutes. Just found this solo work, and it's wonderful! I'm a doubler, so this will be a challenge for me, but do-able, and I love the modality of it! When the music is so well-written, I will work and work at it until I can play it, and the whole process will be a pleasure!
I have been looking at this piece since the 9th grade and was trying to learn it but came out really hard to me at the time. Now i am an 11th grader and now finally being able to play this piece and realizing it wasn't all that bad. I did the same for bach partita in a minor when i was in 8th grade i thought of this piece as a nightmare to play but just into 10th grade it was as easy as any other piece i faced.
I think you would really enjoy a piece for Flute from a childhood game I played...it has this unique rhythm much like yours and offers a sort of jazzy improve feel to it along with an Asian tint of culture in it as well, I personally love it and you should check it out if you have time. It's called "the Islands theme" from LBP
This makes me think if I should take flute as a second instrument instead of guitar. I always have liked the bird-like sounds the flute makes, but strings are wonderful...and I have the feeling that wind instruments are hard. For now I'll just go practice my scales and think about it later. xD
Flute in my opinion is much more freeing than guitar but guitar can be used in more casual settings whereas flute tends to be more classy (but never forget Lizzo!).
Would it be alright with you if I transposed this for clarinet? I think this is a beautiful song but unfortunately I don’t own a flute. I’ll make sure to give you full credit.
I love how you can hear the breaths and you know it’s a real person and real talent, none of the off sounding computerized ‘flute’ sounds
I love how you can feel the emotion. The notes are one thing to learn, but talent is feeling the notes and projecting them to the audience. It’s really wonderful.
The breaths help express what Herman is trying to represent in this composition.

Oh that's very kind of you, I appreciate that, thank you!
It's pretty insane how you can hear all the harmonies while it's just one instrument playing. It sounds like a whole orchestra!
Sylvan Mingelen yes!!
Facts!
I cry. How is this technique, how is this music.. Extraterrestrial....

I am a flute player and get bored with it. But this just blew me away. Wow absolutely beautiful
I really appreciate that, thank you!
Was that a pun?
How do you get bored with it 😂 ? There are endless possibilities of what you can do with a flute. You can always strive to make yourself better :)
Nice pun

The high and low notes are so clean and pretty sounding 😫
