So following on from my comment last week I’ve since fixed my problem with the Hazard warning light switch. It wasn’t functioning at all, so after removing the panel as shown on the video I disconnected the switch by squeezing the four tabs, and removed it from the panel. It was then possible to open up the switch with a fine flat screwdriver by pulling open the catches on the body. It took me a while to work out how the switch works but basically two pads inside the rubber cover complete the circuit by simultaneously pressing on the round gold coloured pads on the circuit board. I think the pads are graphite impregnated to make them conductors. There is no relay in the system btw…it is all controlled through the BIS.
After carrying out a basic test with a multimeter to prove the switch was getting power it was just a question of cleaning the graphite/rubber pads to recover functionality. I think it may have been just a matter of some oil providing an insulating layer and rendering the switch inoperative. Note that this procedure could also work on the adjacent central locking and child lock switches.

Hey I have the same problem on my Peugeot partner 2014 I have took the hazard switch out completely aswell I could only get my hazards lights to turn on and off if I used 2 screw drivers and pressed down on the black pins where the red square button normally presses down I was going to get a new one but you reckon I should just clean the inside of the switch where the red light bulb is?

Yes…clean the underneath of the black rubber cover where the pads are that contact the round gold coloured circles on the circuit board…I just rubbed them and it worked perfectly after that. Good luck

@@tsb3093 so update I removed the rubber pad as you said cleaned it but underneath the rubber pad I can see the gold circles but both of them has like a white ‘S’ residue on it should I wipe this off or leave it on and did you have this white stuff on your gold circles on your switch on the circuit board?

Having done this yesterday. I would say its much quicker and far less chance of breaking something just removing 4 extra screws at the bottom of the dash (2 in either foot well - 1 exposed 1 hidden). Chances are those clip nuts will fall down there anyway (as your right hand top one has done).

@D C once you remove the first screw you can pull out the small panel and it reveals the 2nd screw holding in the centre panel.

@@smtkelly Thanks for the tip on the four lower screws, just had to change my heater/AC control panel on my 2014 berlingo this morning.

The white S is the break in the gold circle that is bridged when the pad makes contact…it’s supposed to be like that. Just clean the underside of the pads in the rubber cover and try the switch again….you’re nearly there 👍

Now I understand what a couple of you guys meant about the metal clips falling down…looks like I’m going to have to go hunting for them….(what a rubbish design) but not until I resolve the Hazard Warning lights switch issue…it just stopped working. Indicators are fine so I’m hoping it’s just the switch.

This Idea is Much harder than 4 more screws. What could happen with your instructions is that 2 metal screw clips fall down under the car carpet. Speaking from experience, I would not advise this.
