While I thought Ep.5 was a bit stronger, Ep.6 was the only one that made me cry. It was during the scene where Rosenthal and the doctor were talking, and Rosie (who is Jewish) counters the doctor’s opinion on the war, by hinting at what was happening to Europe’s Jews. Especially when you add that Egan would later see train with the Jewish women and children up close, and was confronted with the true reality of why the railway needed to be bombed.

the thing is the war had nothing to do with Jewish people. Britain went in to help Poland (and failed, because Poland was still occupied for another 45 years after the war). America went to war because Japan and Germany declared war on it. This is revisionist history trying to rewrite things. The concentration camp discovered in 1945 in Band of Brothers was a far more organic way of showing the story than an imaginary encounter with Egan and the over the top train flying the Nazi pennant. .

Excellent, sharply observed, and evocative synopsis, both pointedly intelligent and yet strikingly sensitive. When does one watch a CZcams review that entwines intellect, sensitivity, as well as a lively, accessible style of delivery? Right. N-E-V-E-R. I'm in. Thumbs up. Way up.
