- Welcome back to Day 3 of the 12 Days of RJ's Trains!! While yesterday we looked at my brand-new MTH Mikado, today we are looking at the actual biggest train in my collection, an MTH Premier 4-8-4 Chesapeake & Ohio 614 Greenbrier! This magnificent model is an MTH Premier PS1 Chesapeake & Ohio Greenbrier professionally upgraded to ProtoSounds 3.0. A special thanks to @BobsOGaugeTrains for making this video a reality.

Thats an AWESOME ENGINE RJ
Thank you!
Great engine...the position of the headlight says it all ! Thank You
Gotta say I like the freight train, lots of character.
Beautiful locomotive...
Thanks RJ
Small steam engines are cool but your big steam engine is cool too RJ
That MTH 614's a beast all right! VERY impressive!
I was lucky enough to ride those C&O 614/ New Jersey Transit Hoboken to Port Jervis excursions in 1996 and 1997. What a ride in 1996, especially when they opened up 614 and FLEW across the Hackensack Meadowlands! I was on the run in 1997 when 614 blew a piston ring in the Moodna Viaduct area. The wife was with me on that trip and I said it was HER fault, she was a "whammy!" That was good for a shot in the head! OW!
The 1996 run was memorable for me personally as I was wearing a Norfolk & Western 611 "Queen Of The Fleet" sweatshirt. This wasn't long after N-S cancelled the steam program and I can't tell you how many people came up to and asked "What happened?"
"I don't know," I said, "There's so many stories pick the one you like, no-one can say you're wrong!"
If you're interested Mark 1 Video put out a fine DVD of the 1996 trips, well worth having!
Oh, that 611 sweatshirt (ahem) shrunk over the ensuing years. I gave it to a young club member who was thrilled to have it!
That's an awesome story Wayne! I hope to see 614 under steam one day again
@@rj.trains We can only hope! Right now it's on display in Clifton Forge VA at the C&O Historical Society's museum and will be for the forseeable future.
woah i like your New Hope and Ivyland shirt. the New Hope is my favorite railroad
Wow! She really looks great RJ. Im glad to see her run, it looks really good going through the country scene near the pond. Its a fantastic locomotive and looks great on your layout (Im still finding things I missed earlier, just a really great job on the new layout). Matching shirt for the video awesome! Looking good! Thank you for the mention, I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas.
Beautiful looking locomotive. My largest engines were consolidations and hudsons back in the beginning. Today it's a WMRR challenger and PARR Q-2.
Looking forward to getting my Lionel Creamsicle version next year. Don't be in a rush to get into the big steam, everything gets bigger with large Scale steam. ^^^$$$$, ^^^^space needed, ^^^^^trains behind them to make them look right. Bigger isn't always better.
That is what I tell a lot of people when they ask why I do not have a big boy, or some other big articulated engine, it would just look bad on a smaller layout like mine
Excellent engine and train, RJ! The freight is no slouch either!
Thank you very much!
Nice shirt
That blur can’t fool me
That’s a greenbrier
Haha good guess!
The Greenbrier is one of my fav locomotives. Maybe Top 5 tbh.
Oh , man what beautiful pieces ... just beautiful. These pieces are so detailed . They look and move so real. Awwe the sound is so fantastic.OH man it just doesnt get any better..Geeze I'm glad you are back
A truly magnificent locomotive heading a super passenger consist, RJ! A beautiful running train is always a welcome sight to see. Thanks very much for this awesome experience!
