Melo was one of the first (along with lebron) that demonstrated portionless basketball at significant size. He’s also the reason a lot of players went double sleeve’s especially with the headband. That with the leg accessories made him look like a superhero. His game definitely will be missed, as a native New Yorker especially

Despite the lack luster team accomplishments in his career, this man could win you a game by himself on any given night. He can get you bucket on the low block, behind the arc, off the dribble etc. I always appreciated how Melo embraced rebounding the basketball as well. A truly different skill set than most with a scoring capability like his.
