  • Footage from the SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina.
    Lots of famous stores in this one including Dillard's, Waldenbooks, JCPenney and Footlocker.
    At the food court we get to see inside a Chick-fil-A (our second one) and how they make those yummy waffle fries.
    This video last around 14 minutes.

      Malls. Blockbusters. Theatres. There's no reason for any of them to even exist anymore. Theatres are still, somehow, holding on but it makes no logical sense anymore. We had a theatre down by the McDonald's. Showed all the new releases, was always packed. But then one day not so long ago they just tore it down and put up an apartment building. I didn't even notice because by then I had high speed internet and didn't need a theatre anymore. I used to go to the mall, now I just ebay everything I want. And I can see out of my window right now a family video that's been closed and abandoned for 2 years now, slowly rotting away because no one wants to invest in my neighborhood. There's also a gas station across the street from it abandoned and for sale and an old building that's been abandoned since the late 80s when it was was a liquor store and there was a mass murder there...... wow, this got dark quick. Sorry.

    Sucks that those of us who grew up in the heyday of malls, the 60s-90s, didn’t really appreciate how much simpler life was. It wasn’t perfect, but if I would have known how things were going to be today I would have appreciated it more. Not just the malls but life in general. The 80s and 90s were fun decades to grow up in.

    A lot of my fondest memories took place at the mall in the 90's. I was a little kid then but I remember spending the day going to the mall with my mom and my grandma. They would take me to the Disney store after we spent the day shopping in Macy's or JCPENNEY and I would pick out a toy and then we would head home and I would pass out in the car. Thanks for these wonderful glimpses of a greater time in life.

      Same. My mom used to drop off me and my brother at the local mall all throughout the 90s. We used to chill at the food court and there was a comic book stand where they sold cigars and soft drinks where's I would always get an arizona tea before heading off to Barnes and Noble to check out some magazines, mostly about military history. Then, when we were done shopping, we'd just walk to my grandparents' house, which was just a few blocks away.

    My favorite mall activity in the 90s were the ARCADES, man! They made a trip to the mall feel like you were going to Disney World. The "oohs" & "ahhs" from bodies huddled around cabinets like Mortal Kombat II or Street Fighter; players unleashing combos & Fatalities...the social aspect of it all, I miss 😩
    The next favorite mall stop would be those cozy little trinket shops with fall & christmas figurines, model train sets, candles, & other seasonal goodies. Those were a whole vibe & smelled the BEST around the holidays!

    In 1994 that I had been in a mall in Gurnee Illinois called Gurnee Mills or even another mall with my sister that was called Lakehurst when I was living in 1994-1997. Only once that I rode my bike towards Gurnee Mills. It was very dangerous for me. I thought it was safer at that time. I remembered seeing a thunderstorm coming when I was riding my bike home. Once I got back inside of my apartment. It was a downpour outside. I had my bike inside the apartment once it stopped raining. My sister wasn’t working and was out of the town. It was early July 1994 when I did it. At that time that I didn’t have a driver’s license or a car to drive. We got the apartment and it was so close to my job in a grocery store near it. I even walked towards my job or rode my bike.

    • @maricelacad.3873
      @maricelacad.3873 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Those times were much better in a sense that people Feared God more, How? Well The Commandments of God were taken into consideration and people tried to live by them. Let me give you a couple of Examples, You should have no other gods before Me (God) Jesus Christ, another Example, You should not steal, You should not fornicate, You should not commit Adultery, You should not bear false witness, You should not Covet, You shall not kill, Honor thy Mother and father. These are mainly the Commandments, Remember The Pledge of Allegiance, One Nation under God? When America decided to remove God (The Bible) which is The Word of God from the schools, What Happened after the Colombine Shootings, schools are now more than ever targeted, you hear alot more violence now. How about abortions, many young girls getting pregnant and not married killing their babies. How about Marriages? One man, One Woman, but now, man and man, woman and woman, Do you understand how far Society has fallen for their own demise? This is why our Nation America has fallen, and people don't even think about it, they are so deceived by all the lies now. America has fallen because she has said in her heart, There is No God. This is why America is in this situation it is now and as a Nation, I don't think America will rise again as a Great Nation because she has lost her first Love, God.😢 But their is still hope for anybody who Turns back to God, Repents from their wicked ways and seeks God for Salvation. How can you be Saved? The Gospel is (Good News)It's God's Plan to Restore humanity to Himself, So what did he Do to Restore humanity? The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Remember that I gave some Examples of The Commandments of God? Now in Romans 6:23, it is written, "And the wages of sin is death" What does this mean? It means that in which ever way you committed sin then there is a consequence to pay and that is death. In Romans 5:8, it is written, "But God shows His Love for Us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for Us." And going back to Romans 6:23 it say that, "And the free gift of God is Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Now How can humanity be Restored? Here it is, It takes Faith and How can you Attain it? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by The Word of God. Last but not least, In Romans 10:9, it is written, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your hearth that God raised him from the dead, You shall be Saved." And not only that If You Believe what Jesus did for you to pay for your Sins, the moment You believe He (Jesus) will Baptize You with The Holy Spirit and He will be with us to Comfort Us, To Counsel Us, To Guide Us and to Correct Us and he will make Us A New Creation. So what are You waiting for? Don't wait till tomorrow to make that choice because tomorrow is not Promised, You don't know if you will be alive tomorrow. Believe Jesus He is the Key, only He can Restore humanity and the earth. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, The Life. Believe, Believe, Believe and Convert to Christ but if you decide not to, then there is only left Eternal Torment. God does Not Condemn us but our unbelief will condemn us.
