Hey Comment Section! I just wanted to take a minute to brag on Landon. I won the Les Paul Special in the giveaway last month, and I just wanted to say that Landon went above and beyond getting it to me. It was delayed crossing the border, and he kept in touch with me when I was having trouble with it. They had lousy tracking info and it looked like it sat still for over a week, and since I was the receiver, they wouldn't really do much for me. I told Landon, and he apparently he put the fear of God into them, because it suddenly arrived just a couple of days later. And on top of that, he repackaged it so that it looked like it came straight from the factory! He put in some extra effort on this giveaway. Just wanted the viewers to know that Landon is a Top-Notch Quality guy!
Psh, we all knew he was such a great guy that's why we're here :')
Congratulations man 👍
@Briansgate - yeah, I can tell Landon is one of the good guys ! Nice post though showing your appreciation - congratulations brother, you too seem like a proper decent fella x
It's obvious. He teams from time to time with Han Solo.
Bro, don't try to educate the CZcams comment section haha... That's a lost battle.
Alternate title idea: “Fifteen minutes of horrific Dad Jokes, one minute of guitar”
In a world of bleak, dark realities, I take this all as a compliment 🎸👍
@@landonbailey you should, it's the reason I stuck around!
Everybody has a different sense of humour but maybe yours is superior.
Can't wait to see your hilarious guitar reviews🎸😆
"American ash.... RIP Sean Connery" brutal!
I hear he had a nice guitar until it fell and broke. When asked about it, he said "I blame me shelf for that one".
Greetings from Germany.
Thomann is such a great company. Amazing customer service and despite them growing and beeing so huge by now, it's still run by the family.
hey there! this model was too heavy for my liking, but everything else about it was really good
@@landonbailey hi how does it compare to the player series?
I think these guitars are awesome. I have LOTS of guitars - some expensive, some affordable. I have American Fenders, Mexican Fenders, Classic Vibe, a couple of Harley Bentons and tons of other stuff. I choose a guitar based on how I feel about it, not the price tag or what is written on the headstock. My two main guitars are my Harley Benton TE-52 and my American Fender Original Telecaster. The TE-52 cost £120.00 and the Original series Fender....... didn't! ;) Both are great guitars!
Love the Borg and Connery references Landon 😂😂 mine is due Monday or Tuesday now I can’t wait. I do have brass saddles waiting for it. Looking forward to the deep dive 👍😊👍👍
Just found this channel, you must be one of the most random rambling guys I’ve ever seen.... and I loved every minute of it 🤣🤣
I love these guitars, can’t get a better deal at that price I.m.o.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you for the Candian $ breakdown. I've been looking to get a 5 string Harley Benton bass. Cheers
Glad I found this guy, most entertaining guitar review I've ever seen
Welcome aboard!
I'm in Ontario and received the st70 Paisley strat in May and they charged me the same $52.15 taxes and duties.
That 52 sounds really good and I do like the vintage Orange tone of it
I have a TE-70 Rosewood, it's not Heavy at all, I upgraded everything on it and it's a brilliant piece of kit...
Do you know what brand of parts are compatible? I would like to do a Wilkinson ashtray bridge and Duncan pickups
@@adamsilvestri356 I think everything is compatible except for the scratchplate, don't waste your money on a 3rd part scratchplate, they do not fit but other than that anything goes. Mine came with a Wilkinson bridge as standard, that's the main reason why I bought a TE-70 rather than the TE-52, it's still on there...
Thanks Landon. Nice guitar at first glance. I'm looking forward to the in-depth video.
Coming soon!
Love your content bro, looking forward to the deep dive...
Wow, you got one. I cancelled my order after the restock date kept getting pushed back. Now I am contemplating if I should wait or grab the TE-70RW which costs the same, but seems to offer improved hardware.
Btw Thomann has it listed at €155
Great vid and tones, would be great if you could also review the st 62!
Looks good, sounds nice, and an excellent price too. At the very least it could be a great modding platform.
Hey Landon, I am from the U.S. My TE52 is heavy also, that is my only complaint but no big deal because I play at home sitting down. I too love the neck for my hand size. I weighed mind for a whopping 9.34 pounds. I paid $172 and change with shipping to my door. I ordered earlier in the year. The price was a little cheaper and also the shipping was cheaper at that time. I am going to leave my guitar as is, and not mod it. I'm very satisfied. If it was a little lighter it would be great! Other than that I like it. If I was to buy right now it would be $226 with shipping. The shipping has almost doubled. But, I did notice that I ordered a bass that was in stock it got here in a week. I think they use UPS now instead of DHL. It appears to get by customs quicker with UPS since they are authorized. Before it would take 4-5 weeks with an ordered item that was in stock.
thanks for all the info!
Great guitar, I am considering getting one. Does it feel heavy and uncomfortable playing sitting down on your right leg after 2-3 hours playing time?
This is the funniest unboxing I have seen in a long time.
5:00 i thought about buying one until you mentioned the weight,
i never play a Les Paul i have because of it, i seriously dont know if i shall sell it or just drill holes thru its body.
That's a really good one...I would have ordered the te30 as well..also a tremendous guitar, especially for $110!
I have one of these and it’s a great guitar that plays well. It is heavy, but I must say I have got used to it. Mine was £115 delivered in the UK. A steal for that I think.
Does it hurt your legs or feel uncomfortable playing right leg sitting down, for like 2-3 hours of playing? Did you weigh your in?
Soccer it 🤣⚽. That is one heavy geetar! A great deal for the price imo. Thanks for sharing Landon!
I just picked up a Tele in surf green. Wonderful value for money, it weighs 8.7 pounds, which is a little heavy for my liking but the quality control is outstanding. The Roswell pick ups are perfectly acceptable, and I am extremely happy with the guitar, and the price!
Rock on!
Tone wise, would you say it is a decent Telecaster sound? Compared to something like say a Squier Affinity Telecaster? The two are priced pretty comparatively at the moment where I'm from, with the Harley Benton TE-52 being around 20 bucks cheaper at best. But none of the stores nearby have both in stock to just try them out.
Nice and a fun video! Like your humor! :) Just subbed!
Awesome! Thank you!
Not bad, I would upgrade some of the hardware and it should really sing. I think it would be a great deal to get one.
I always thought the double padding meant it goes on the shoulder.... so I guess I have also been wearing mine upside down too.
I got one of these a couple of years ago, put a set of wilkinson tuners and a wilkinson compensated bridge and the guitar was there. Just fantastic
Yea ,it's really heavy too
Does it bother you playing sitting down, on right leg?@@ondmon818
Man I just enjoy listening to you
I appreciate your honesty so much
cheers!
Does anyone know how this compares/stacks up against the slick sl51? I'm torn both getting good reviews and around same price
Landon you make me laugh so much, sending love from 🇬🇧
cheers!
I love how he says; "I have nothing to say", and then continues to talk shite for another 12 minutes!
that sounds like something i would do :)
Damn lol
I have their paisley Tele and it too is quite beefy weighing in at 8lbs on the nose. What a great guitar though.
Love your videos and I Love your guitar reviews!!!
Rock on!
Hey Brandon I’ve 15 HBs including two of this model. Flat radius not keen on, too heavy but otherwise I thought pretty good
Wow that's a lot! from Landon. :P
I can't deal with a heavy guit, i was super happy the first time i held my Squier Affinity, it's sooo light.. Heavy guitars get annoying fast when standing up!
What is the guitar neck on the shelf or is it a playable guitar. Behind the Lava Lamp?
it was a cheap neck that I used in a Partscaster a few years back
I remember when Microsoft marketed their Zune MP3 player as the iPod Killer- it was a failed attempt, however ironically he real iPod Killer turned out to be the iPhone.
totally! lol
Deep 👨🏾💻
Oddly enough, I still use my Zune. It still works great, so I don't feel the need to change.
I haven't bought the TE-52, but I did the PRS copy (CST-24 Deluxe) and it is a heavy beast also. Shane would be the best one to answer that, he has had both.
Hopefully you respond, can you recommend this as a first guitar? I want a Tele for Christmas that is sub 250 and I really like the way this looks and I’ve heard great things abt this so if you could let me know that would be great! 👍
it would be a really good first guitar if you don't mind the weight 🎸👍
Got you beat - I ordered mine in May!! Although customs in San Francisco lost the first one (I blame DHL) and Thomann sent another one... once it was in stock. UPS had it here in the Pacific Northwest in four days. Thomann is Awesome!
I purchased a PRS knockoff from Thomann and I love it. Total cost was $330 but $60 was shipping. Received the guitar in about a week because at the time of purchase they were out of stock.
LOVE your videos Landon, keep them coming...Ernie from Nashville, musicman bass player...and it sounds awesome and no hum. i own several Harleys and once this pandemic is over, should never take longer than a week to get my friend....,
Awesome! Thank you!
@@landonbailey your welcome brother your channel is one of my faves !!
Great vid LB.... I don't have a Tele.... I'll have to consider that one.
Love how chill and humourous you are! I've got the Classic Vibe 50s Tele (and Strat) but I wanted to see this out of curiosity. The weight is a turn-off, but that's a lovely-looking guitar! I've never considered ordering from Thomann to Canada, but those fees weren't too bad, considering. Thanks for yet another great post!
ah hey thanks! ya it’s not a deal breaker, still a good deal to ship here. but ya the weight. eek
@@landonbailey Of course now I am looking on Thomann for a Es-335 style guitar... Have you ever played the Epiphone ES-335 Pro? Thoughts?
Hey, what did you come up with lately?@@astewart9410
Harley Benton's are nice guitars and I like mine but the nut is filed deeply and yet the stings are oddly high above the fret board at the nut.
Haaa! Loved your show! Just stumbled upon you and now I'm subscribed. I enjoy finding fellow Canadians. Where abouts do you hail from? The Harley Tele looks cool. Like. Think I might want one. Stay safe!
Thanks for subbing! I'm in Ottawa, originally from Northern Ontario
Do you what what kind of pots are in this ? And should I upgrade them ?
I don’t recall, but it’s all in this video; czcams.com/video/4LEgoBVyEX8/video.html
Been wondering about ordering this and the unknown shipping duty costs into Canada were scaring me off versus just getting a Squier CV. So thanks, you answered the question of costs! But I'm still thinking the CV is a better deal re vintage spec and resale. This has the multi slab Ash body though, and I love Ash wood bodies and this one looks sweet. Why do you have the link to the Deutsche site and not the US site?
Oh I didn't know about a US site
I have 4 HB's, and they are really good value for money. However, be aware that they generally have wide neck radiuses, 12-14 inch. Personally, I prefer the vintage 7,25 inch radius or the 9,5 , at least on the traditional Tele/Strat models. But I also have a HB SG and Jazzmaster clones and those necks are just fine.
I wonder if it costs less to have flatter radiusesess. radii? you know what I mean 😊
awesome guitar. jammed on it for a few hours. Made my own.
I just got one. My first impression playing it was how small it felt at the nut. So i measured over the E to E at the nut and compared to my American Special it’s .080” less. Feels cramped to me. It’s easily a pound heavier too. Pickups are 💩. Other than that, its impressive.
Total cost USD $216.00 (includes $69 USD shipping fees, no taxes on the sale), about the same price as the Squier Affinity Series Telecaster that sells for $229.99 USD (free shipping from most dealers).
good deal in the US!
So pleased you got this. I have ordered a HB Tele deluxe in rosewood, for Christmas. Hope it gets here on time!! Good video mate 👍👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Landon, your humor is so dorky...And that's why I like it. I've been a sub for a few years now. Glad to see your channel growing. Good video as usual.
I appreciate that! I used to edit out most of it, I got lazy and it works better :P
@@landonbailey You seem like a genuine guy. It comes across in your content. Don't ever change.
I dont why. I love your unboxing videos so much .
Cool review vid. Looks like Thomann has a Prince Tele too! Did you see that one Landon?
I think I did see that one. Another company had one too, maybe Eastwood
I dont think they're available anymore. I looked for one a week ago, and they were not on the website.
They get sporadic shipments and sell out fast. The stock on the website changes rapidly. Keep looking and they'll be in stock eventually.
Keep your health care. : )
Anyway thanks for sharing first impressions, and jokes.
The Sean Connery line was a gas. I could just hear him saying "ash". He'd also say "Suck it up young lad, and hold that heavy guitar like a man!"
I picked up two neck on HB's, a month ago and am quite impressed overall. And that's owning some serious gems.
Be well, my beer brain brother from the great white north!
About mine about 2 years ago shipped it was like $158 took about 7 days to get to Texas. Added a 4-way mod other than that stock
great deal!
The neck and body woods look really nice.
I think myself I'd go with the cv for one reason that it's easy to get here in Canada and also I have smaller hands so the cv neck might be better suited to me...
I just want to say I love guitars, especially Telecaster and Telecaster types.
Hey.. is the neck nice? Is it heavy?
I don't know what's worse, that "something too" joke, or the fact that I actually laughed with her xd
I don't joke in my videos. 🤪
I have a TE-20 and yea it's heavy but I like it and I will get this one. I think my Tele can coexist!
But hey, we got free health care 😂
Great overview. I was curious about these.
Seems to be a decent quality guitar. Very curious over the HB lines. Looking forward to the deep dive.
I sanded the necks on my Classic Vibes. Feels much smoother and very pleasant. I must say that I prefer the look of the body on this HB than my CV butterscotch
Those ash bodies weight a ton! Also the tuning song was classic!
Is it heavier than a Squier CV? Mine weighs about 9.5 lbs, which is on the hefty side, but I don't mind it.
probably in general. they can all vary though
do you prefer squier affinity telecaster 2020 or te52?
Te52
awesome bud . great video as usual i have a request lando bud please order your self a shieji s style guitar you deserve it my friend. i just really trust your judge ment and i also am super interested in the cost i think you can only find them on allie express or something like that. any way keep doing wehta you do man tim from london.
Would like 2 see a review of a recent paisley Tele and strat from HB.
Great review none the less!
Thanks!
cheers! No plans to have any HB anytime soon. take care
"He's part of the Borg" LOL
I really want the 52. Is there some weight to it or is it super light?
Nm I should of watched more of the video before asking lol
Beautiful Guitar really great for the price!!
Hello. Did you weigh yours? Looks so nice, does the weight bother playing sitting down? Say you played for 2-3 hours on your right leg?
czcams.com/video/4LEgoBVyEX8/video.html&feature=shared
Hahaha thank you, I was still watching the video, and before this part comes, reading comments first, I was watching, still not planning to leave early. But thank you! @@landonbailey
Mine is 4.3KGs. Too heavy for me so might sell it soon. Is a nice guitar though, precisely made and stuck together and the neck is great for me after playing acoustic guitars for many years. My fret edges had to be sanded back though.
thanks for sharing!
Ooo did you sell yours, is it also bothering playing sitting down? I am considering one, and I don't play standing, only sitting, but I feel it can be a issue for my right leg as well, at 4.3 kgs, it's pretty heavy...
I have two Harley Bentons, the DC-Junior TV Yellow, and and the HB JA-60SB Vintage Series (Jaguar style) and they are both shockingly light. Also, didn't have to pay any additional duties or fees to the US.
we get duty screwed and taxed
Hello Brandon, I have a question un related to the tele your reviewing, is that guitar hanging on the wall behind you a 2015 Epiphone Les Paul special with P90 pups? If so how do you like it? Wonder if you could review it? Thanks
here it is Jerry czcams.com/video/OXS95qZK8oo/video.html
Cool video dude Harley Benton needs more exposure 🤘
I have a Tele that's way too heavy for me. It hardly gets picked up but is loaded with some great hardware. I'm thinking to take some material off the back and make belly cuts to it. It's over 11 lbs, more like 12 ha
ouch!
Now this is what I was waiting for.
Hi, earth man. I am from America. I would like to inform you that we have decided to return to your planet and once again be a part of it's future.
You're a clueless ass if you believe biden/harris is a good future for America.
@@chipgaasche4933 I am Italian and I agree with Chip but we'll have to wait to know the real votes !
Got lucky and picked up one for 140 on Craigslist. Mine is really heavy but don’t mind that at all, great guitar
Very nice!
I have one, love it. Did a few upgrades
cool! what did you mod?
@@landonbailey compensated brass saddles, tunners, bone nut, pots and also pickups from a Mexican standard Tele. (Yes, ceramic pickups 😀)
I have a TE-52, it's a boat anchor, but I love it
I've got the TE-70 Rosewood
Its made of basswood with a neat rosewood veneer that looks killer.
The weight is not as bad as yours, feels around average. Main differences between mine and yours is modern tuners, Wilkinson bridge with brass compensated saddles, and a blackwood (?) fretboard which is rosewood-y
Neck has a gloss finish instead of satin and is thicc with two c's!
All in all a great guitar
Another difference is tbe nut width. 43 mm on the TE-70 versus 42 on the 52.
@@reinhardmuller9137 I didn't know that, thanks
Your friend looks much happier!!!
Nice looking guitar. Is it very heavy?
Looks and sounds like a tele. Nice looking for sure, pickups sound decent, For the price, it's a very nice guitar. Kind of like a CV 50's Squier, but maybe with a little fatter neck.
Agreed!
To give you some perspective, I sold a Japanese Fender Aerodyne Strat and got me some HB's with no regrets. Are they as good? No. Are they that different? Not really. Besides the perfect finish, light weight, and general aesthetics, don't feel there's 1k + worth of difference.
1 - I have 2 of these [and another heavily moded te-20]. One of the TE50's is heavily modded and one is as it comes [no need to mod them at all, but I wanted to have a different config on all of them - so one of the TE-50's has a filtertron on the bridge, a P90 on the neck, 6 saddle bridge and upgraded tuners]. The first I got still had the Wilkinsons [ok, not good nor bad], the second one has the Roswells [IMHO they sounded better, but not that different. They do their job quite well so no need for swapping]
2 - Yes they are heavy. Which I actually prefer on Teles. Teles - to my mind - are workhorses. They need to feel like they'll take a beating [unlike a Gibson SG or LP] while on Strats I look for comfort mostly.
3 - Their Jazz Bass is quite good and on par with Fender's. The HBZ-5000 is a fantastic Bass but needs a different Pre-amp [the one on it buzzes a bit, but the pups are quite good]. The DC-Custom [their Vyper copy] is very decent [but dodgy finish, and too slim a neck for my hands].
Given I have bear paws instead of hands, I tend to stay away from guitars that have a shorter scale lenght and thin necks [though I do love me some Ibanez goodness], so I haven't tried their LP's to comment.
Super interested in this brand now.
PS- Can you please do a video on the 60s CV Jazzmaster? Considering it and you’re like Consumer Reports for guitars for me.
hey maybe one day! I like Consumer Reports
Great review. I was laughing at your jokes the whole time. Lol. Love the guitar too. Their website for US says base price is $159 plus shipping $72.97. so $231ish.
hey thanks for sharing the pricing! I've got a full review coming soon
@@landonbailey Great! I can't wait to watch. I'm really interested in this guitar.

hey there! all about it here czcams.com/video/MXtBtvkfQXE/video.html
Compare with the squire telecaster, which one you prefer?
I would put it right up there with the Classic Vibe 50s model
@@landonbailey Agreed, but the HB neck is much better. A bit chunkier and finer feel. Unless you have very small hands, go with the HB.
