the fact that you even have to TRY to hear the difference (and is not apparent and obvious on its own under any circumstances) show what a racket the professional instrument industry is. NOT ONLY it makes no difference whatsoever to 95% of the listeners. but even the musicians themselves can not really tell unless its an instrument they actually play and have experience with (and EVEN THEN its hit n miss). if i could go back in time 20 years i would stick to budget instruments. sure, theres "feel" and "playability" but not $20000 WORTH of "feel and playability". (not that i ever bought an instrument over $2300)
Excellent comment, you have it spot on. If an experienced user and someone who has likely played them all including the one he owns and upgraded himself cannot tell the difference then it shoes what a rip off expensive instruments are.
That said, if someone has the money, and really wants an expensive guitar then I say go ahead and buy what you can afford and what makes you happy.
But don't delude yourself that 99% of people at a Gig will be able to tell or care what headstock logo is on your guitar.
100% - I've played for a long time and own some pretty expensive guitars and equipment. At Christmas I purchased a sub $400 (in the U.S) HB T-style dual humbucker pro series out of curiosity. The value blew me away. With a tiny bit of setup, playability, sound, feel, neck (roasted maple) incredible.... Without visual cues, you would never be able to tell any difference from a guitar that sounds 4 times as much. Amp and speakers matter much more... But even along those lines, a Boss Katana is an amazing and inexpensive tone monster of an amp. Don't fall for the hype of boutique.
Thank you both for the upload. The blind fold challenge was epic indeed.
Cheers, lads. Harleys are excellent, and no I couldn't tell one from the other. Nice playing, above all. Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and best for '23.
thank you guys. this is one of the very best and funniest musician videos i have seen for years 😂❤😊
So this was being played on the TV while i was doing some work. Listened to the entire stream, even participated briefly in the blind fold. During the outro, i was not looking at the TV, but as soon as i heard the second solo, immediately looked back to see what guitar is that, and as it turns out - Harley Benton!!
Just so informative always. Sorry I missed it live. You both are so incredibly talented . Two different styles. Bravo. Top CZcams show.
Thanks Joseph! This was so much fun and luckily it stays where it is on youtube so one can watch it later too. :) Take care and have a great Holiday season! //Kris

Merry Christmas Kris and Guillaume also. More electric guitars under the tree 🎄 hopefully..lol 😂
Ty guys, I didn’t get even one right, but learned a lot about my own preference. Awesome!
i never understood the radius thing. and why ppl say that a rounder radius is more comfortable for chords. i don't feel much of a difference between 9,5 and 17" when playing bar chords (i have a CS strat that i plek'd down from 9,5 to 17). but on a 17", i can get the action so low that i barely need to touch the string to fret it and there are no bend fretouts like on a 9,5 or 7,25. out of my experience, the actual neck shape plays a larger difference in chord comfort. and it all depends on your hand size. for example, i find the fender 60s oval C way harder to play than a 52 U. it's all anatomy :D anyway.. merry christmas guys!
I was not able to name them but I preferred the third one and did not like the first and the fourth. I'm satisfied with my result. :)
No. 3 and 4 were my favourites too.
While watching this live I thought the second guitar sounded amazing, unfortunately for me that's the fender which is way out of budget for me right now. Funny thing is, I fell in love with that tele a long time ago without even knowing what it sounded like. Thinking of buying the green te-62 and putting a black pickguard in it.
yeah, a black pickguard often looks way better, changed a candy apple red and a cream Strat plus a jazz bass to black guards and they look so much better than with a white one.
Cool Video!
I didn't know Gillette could solo too, what a nice intro from both of you!
I love your jamming intro in every video.
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it man!! //Kris
Was it Hello?
I didn’t know which one was which, but I knew through CZcams audio, #3 sounded the absolute best to my ears….#2 was my second favourite sound! Interesting.
Apparently you can spot the Fenders then, which is very impressive mate. I'd love do this with an overdriven sound too. Next time maybe. :) //Kris
Happy holidays Ery one. 😊
Same to you my dude! 🤩 //Kris
A KR "Signature" without 5 String, what a mess? My main Micawber is a Squier Protone Tele equipped with a 50s Classic Squier neck. Played through a combination of a peavey classic 50 and a dynacord rex I get as close to Keefs sound as possible in my ears
Respect Kris, put Guillaume on the next test!!!!
Cheers!
finally Tesla pickups !! honestly these sound even better than the Gibson studio pickups, awesome.
How much is the Telecaster looking Harley Benton real value and actual cost
Number 4 was my favourite, warmth but with clarity…. Crickey Roswells
Help!! 2 of my students bought an Harley Benton ST-20HSS SBK Standard Series with Amaranth Fretboard, can they use Dunlop Lemon Oil on the fretboard? Thanks a lot!! Have a nice day 👋😉
Hi, yes you can use Lemon Oil for those fretboards. Or any other fretboard oil as a matter of fact. Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Hey Chris, hab nutella drauf, so kann man sich mach jedem song die finger lecken 👌😄
Are these bar stools for sale?
2 and 3 were the best sounding.
I prefered the Vintera, and was the only one that I could guess right as well 😅
Kris said, 4th is his guitar, maybe because he owns that Harley Benton? :D You are wrong, if it's like that 😂 I guessed the Harley Benton right. Because the Neck Pickup output was a little bit thinner than others. And I think Kris thought it was his because the thinner neck sounded clearer But all of them sounded very good, like a Tele...
Yeah, it was tough, haha! What's interesting is that the 3rd and 4th are the guitars that I've chosen (my tele for myself and the Harley for the studio) and I know those best so my ears are used to them. No wonder I couldn't decide which is which, since I liked both a lot. 😅 Being blindfolded is the scariest thing ever. Cheers //Kris
38:04 first
39:31 second
40:58 third
42:40 fourth
OK kris you just spent 3500 to much for the custom shop , now you feel like us!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Thomann :Why does the harley benton te 53 kr have so few reviews? or because of poor quality.
Causing people to be interested in reviews
KR is for Keith Richards
Are you the information guy? Poor colleague:)
I'm always distracted on these Thomann videos by the perfect English of the German presenters!
As a Brit I find that quite embarassing...🤣
Hardly anyone here in the U.K speaks German.
Or anything else for that matter! 😕
Cheers mate, that's super kind of you! Things get even more complicated if we consider the fact, that Guillaume is French and I'm Hungarian, both living in Germany. 😆 What an absolute chaos, haha! Take care! //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Oh right! 🤣...sorry...I presumed you were both German! 😳🤣
I could make them all sound shit.
38 minutes of chatter.... before we get to the comparison? An hour video could have been done well in 20i minutes
Hey, absolutely true. That's why this isn't a standard edited video. It's a livestream, which is always much more interactive and chilled. Luckily one can skip the parts that aren't relevant. Cheers //Kris
Yes, it’s the one that is unusable because of its weight. My HB thinline weighs just under 10lbs and Thomann won’t do anything about it… scumbags.
Heavy is GOOD. More sustain.
@@digitalchris6681 😂
Jesus a tele nearly 10lbs, that's a boat anchor ffs.
