I always wondered why prices are almost the same as in the US when it comes to all kind of items all over the world.
Everything looks so lovely there. Specially the Senoritas

Hi Gio. Been living Tokyo over a decade now. Glad you liked Akihabara. I certainly have spent more than my share of time there. Food in Japan, very inexpensive, and I do mean that it's cheaper than Philippines. Much cheaper. Heck, you have have a decent meal here for 600 yen ($4.50) and it's really tasty. Actually, Japan now is ridiculously cheap considering the yen is just so weak. Personally, I'm fine grabbing food at Jonathans or Gustos, which is circa 1000 yen and all you can drink coffee. One thing, hotel prices have skyrocketed since the pandemic. And I mean pre-Pandemic I could get a reasonable business hotel in the 4000 - 6000 yen range, and today they're 12000 to 17000 range. However, they have coupons usually for like 40% discounts, but the coupons are in Japanese, and hidden somewhere (I have no clue where to find them, sorry). This is due to the sudden weak yen.
Agreed however that outside of expensive hotels, most of Japan is ridiculously inexpensive, clean, safe. Enjoy your time here.

I lived there for over 25 years teaching English. It's a nice place to visit for a few weeks but once you live there, especially if you have been there for a long time like I was, you'll start to think differently about how Japan truly is. I could go on and on about it having the highest suicide rate in the world. My Train on the Utsunomiya Line was delayed practically once a week. People are nice (yeah because they are 2 faced and won't say directly how they feel about you due to the culture and robotic way of thinking since grade school), People won't acknowledge your existence if they don't know you, Age gaps...forget it. The Philippines is the best place to be. That being said, enjoy your vacation.

Tokyo has millions of citizens. It is an urban environment. Suicide cases happen more in cities. But to say that Japan has the highest suicide rates in the world? I don't think so. There are countries outside Asia, for example in Europe, where suicide rates are higher. Train delays happen there all the time for that reason. But the focus is too much on Japan (or Korea). Same with the double face. As if people from other countries don't have double face. Yeah, in Asian culture they are less direct but doesnt mean Western people are better. If you would had lived 25 years in another country you would said the same exact things.

@@chocolatecookie8571Japanese culture is very unique in many ways. For example, as this person who lived in Tokyo for 25 years commented, in general the Japanese will never express their true thoughts, feelings or opinions. Loneliness is widespread because everyone sticks to themselves. I’ve lived in Japan for 15 years and everything this person says is true. It is absolutely impossible to make friends in Japan. It will never happen. In near 15 years living in Japan, I do not have a single Japanese friend. It will never happen regardless of effort.

I have mixed impressions of Japan. My first trip was in 1970 and I was last there in 2007. All were for work. Prices varied from really cheap to outrageously expensive. Hope you have a nice visit

Hi Gio & Maya. I’m surprised you kept Maya out of your videos most of the time. Was she sick? No footage of the temple you visited? We only saw the entrance and part of the walkway leading to it. The temple is the highlight. How does the beef in Tokyo compare to the beef available in the Philippines?

Last time I was there, the beef was called "Kobe", from corn-fed, tightly penned cows. It was extremely flavorful and really expensive. I think my last steak dinner there was $175 USD and that was 20 years ago. LOL Enjoy the cleanliness and fresh air of Tokyo.

Japanese wagyu is the best in the world. Would have been pricey but amazing dinner. Japanese are so polite and keep to themselvesin public. I was wondering how you got on trying to film. Thought they might disapprove of that.

Gio, for that flight to Japan, which airline did you take and did you do economy or business? Next year in April I'll have to do the same to catch the cruise. Showing 2 hr layover in Manila and then the 8 hour flight into Tokyo. Hate tight seats, so was wondering how you did yours.

If you get to the Minato prefecture in Tokyo check out the 1000 Kosodate Jizo-son temple. The Garden of Unborn Children. It's 600 years old and has thousands of small statues representing children lost to miscarriages and still borns. It's really quite amazing. There are even several Sho-guns buried there.
