The first age gap relationship I was involved in, when my elderly neighbours met her, told me ... those people whos opinions matter to you wont mind your relationship as long as both are happy and legal... those people that mind your relationship are the people whos opinions dont matter to you.
This is the best advice I have heard, not just for relationships but for life too.

Without reading all the comments, I think we glazed over the statistic that the economic classes are based on a family of five (5) people. Most foreginers that come here are solo, maybe two people. Families do relocate, but are not the norm. So many foreigners, as a solo person would be able to live a life on a higher level than if they came here as a family of 5. So yes, a solo foreigner with a 2 - 2.5K USD monthly income will live more like the family of 5 who are in the Upper to Rich category.
I do agree that most are dating down on the economic and society class scale.

AmFil couples we know personally here in the US the past 25 years is that upper income older guys with a good prenup with educated "good" Filipinas have generally better and lasting marriages.
Generally speaking reliable good men with a somewhat educated "good" Filipina age gap under 15 years have a good chance of success here.
Over the years we've seen about 40% of couples divorce. So there is real risk.
The mans income, their age gap and Filipinas background are key indicators of success or failure.

gio this is a good video this will give every one a real good starting place to know how much money they may need to live in the philippines. what i would say to any one planing to move to philippines is1. pay off all your debts you own money too or get riad of them like your credit cards bills you pay every month its time to pay them all off if you have a loan for a car or house pay them off or sale them. well for your house if you still owe money is to higher a property management to rent out your house at the lest for you car if you still owe money play it off or just sale it or jsut get ride of it. now that you do not have all those payments you are paying each month you will find out that you really do not need lot of omey to live on even in the usa. but after you do all that try to live on as little money that you can live on in your owen country before moving when you find how little money you truly need to live on then pay off all your debts you owe money to and you will find out that you need even less money then you think you need. do all this you will know how much money you need then or a real good ida how much money you need then.

A couple things you didn't consider or mention. Those incomes were for a family of 5. Money goes a lot further for 1 or 2 compared to 5.
    1) In the US for a family of 5 to be "middle/middle" (or barely upper) class, they would need a $100-120k income. If a single guy has a $120k/yr? Way different.
    2) Most expats do not have to work for the money. It comes in automatically, and usually increases every year. If someone works and makes $90k a year, working 50-55hrs a week. They make decent money.
If a person gets $90k/yr TAX FREE? That's almost independently wealthy.

Before she met me, my wife had been chatting with another guy for a year or so.
She broke it off with him.
Yes finances are a factor, but not the only factor, and I believe for most filipinas that it is not the ultimate factor.
The reality is that it is a trade off - we get a beautiful sweet humble godly younger lady, and they get an experienced faithful established man.
      Is that a bad trade?
      No I think it's a good trade.

But the second statistics just shows that people earning 2000 usd monthly are pretty rare. So 90 % of Filipinas will consider you a catch at least financially.
Keep in mind that the first statistics is Family income. Basically that is all under same roof. That is a fluid number here. You as a foreigner can lift a whole household to upper middle class.

and I would think there is a difference in what people make and what they take home as disposable income. That is the important number.

I can live off that and stay under that if I don't travel to another island. The 2 or 3 times that I did travel I went over by a couple hundred dollars. I did go to Thailand for 3 weeks in April and went way over...but it was worth it ha ha. I am less than a year away from early retirement. So just teaching until I reach that retirement income .

It's very easy with age gap relationships in my opinion. I'm in my 60's and WAY past the LOVE stage of my life. All I need is a little respect and kindness which I can't find in the USA. So if I meet and live with a much younger Filipina and she can provide a little respect and kindness I'm golden. I will share my monthly retirement gold to give her a better life. BUT if she turns out to be bitchy and unkind she will be shown the exit door. It's not difficult as I'm not asking for her true love. As I said, I'm way past that stage, been there done that already with former wife and 2 kids.

If they can feed, cloth and shelter themselves the look to make differs choices then they would if that is a struggle. Many women here in the US and I am sure in the Philippines once they earn well for themselves would find it hard to possible give that up for a man or for family life.

As we usually don't discuss money, but according to the information provided plus 10% for inflation, I would say I still fit in the upper middle class range. I probably would leave a savings account or portfolio back in the States with a monthly contribution to that which would still leave me in the upper middle class range but closer to the middle class side . You really don't want to have too much more than what you need because you could actually make yourself a target for kidnapping. Bank employees don't make a lot of money, and your income information could be worth something to the right individuals. Now, I'm not saying that this is pervasive, but you should keep this in the back of your mind that you are not in your country and could become a victim. Do your budget, which includes an emergency fund or health insurance, depending upon your age, and leave the rest overseas. Let's say you are in the 2500 range and you really only need 2000 to live comfortably. That's 6k a year going into your savings and in three years you can have close to a million pesos. Keep in mind that when you hit a certain age you will be required to withdraw a certain percentage every year from your savings and investments . So 10 years of saving could get you a nice bump every year . These will be post tax savings like in a Roth account and if you do things right you can stay under the taxable amount and the percentage that you can earn before it effects your social security. I'm not sure if that's correct because retirement savings is not considered working income unless it's 401k savings. Regardless I digress and go back to just having what you need to enjoy your life and not a flashy lifestyle.

A poor person in West may seem relatively wealthy in the Phils, even he is not, and is in a low income bracket in his home country

Uhm......for a family monthly income to be considered RICH they need to earn at least PHP 240,600, yet the highest paying job is a Surgeon earning an average of PHP 82,400. Even if both a husband and wife were both surgeons, their combined income would be less than PHP 240,600, and therefore not RICH, which doesn't make any sense. According to Google Gemini a surgeon's average annual pay range is very broad (PHP 88,000 - PHP 3,000,000). So, only surgeons earning very close to the Upper Range make the RICH list. I guess that makes a little sense now. LOL

The words "age is just a number" is a joke. It's all about money and get a better life. If guys think otherwise they fool themselves, the better educated and higher the income the less age gap. If the 60 year old guy is bf with a 20-30 year old woman and think it's love from her side is living on a illusion, would he when he was young date someone 30 years older than him, of course not. Personal I don't care what people do and how many years the age gap is if both is adult and agree on the relationship, but don't fool yourself and think it's love 😉

Sure, there are a few fools out there who think that their relationship is akin to him being what many would consider am ideal age compatibility, and often times they get fleeced simply b/c they think such.
Generally men get wiser as they age, and this is due to life experience, learning from others, etc. So they are well aware of their relationship status/situation....as in, hopefully they have found themselves a decent "companionship love" based on wants, needs, and compatibility.
Sure, its not the typical romantic, puppy love, new love, dreamy love, (that is usually quite volitile, and passionately unstable at times) that has alot of characteristics of infatuation. but it is a form of love in the sense of the word.
Break away from the mind numbing "Disney" programming, sport.

"Rich" is a word that means different things to different people. Why this is the case is because income is not the only factor determining "Rich". Wealth, including wealth accumulation throughout time is very important to determine being or becoming Rich.
    hypothetical examples:
A fella who comes over here and pays in full for his home, and car(s), but yet brings in 100k pesos a month would most probably be considered rich by typical Philippine standards.
On another note, a spendthrift, gambling fella who pulls in 230k. Literally throwing his money away on all manner of BS. Is in debt to his eyeballs, and owns practically nothing. imho, wouldnt be considered rich, even though he may look so on outwards appearances.
Very high income, yes...but not rich.
Rich = having a decent amount of accumulated free and clear wealth, with an decent income and low to no debt.

As a retired electronic engineer it is extremely unlikely I will meet a filipina at that "level" as i do not associate in those cricles any longer.
