Hans Zimmer is gonna be an icon like Bach, Beethoven or Mozart in a few decades. Every child has heard their compositions at some point (maybe without even knowing it)
No, but for film he is, Alma Deutscher can.
I'm not sure if putting Hans Zimmer on the same level of Bach is appropriate-even Beethoven and Mozart are not on the same level of Bach. However, that's obviously not to downplay Hans' brilliant music.
Nah, totally different stuff.
If you mean by rehashing your own themes over and over again, yeah he is brilliant in that regard. He is good as a music producer and brilliant as a sound designer. As a composer....meh.
@@vamvra5498 Can you reword that, I don't really understand.
Oh, btw, here's Guthrie Govan, the greatest guitar player the world has ever known, casually sitting on the floor, working out parts. Hans is one of the greatest ever. Awesome documentary.
Wasn't he with Suzie and the Banshees?
IT surprised me when i first learned they played together. guthrie is insane
Your opinion…
The Lion King
Gladiator
The Thin Red Line
The Dark Knight trilogy
Kung Fu Panda 2 (w/ John Powell)
Inception
Man of Steel
Rush
Interstellar
The DaVinci Code
The Pirates of the Caribbean
The list can go on and on and each of these films feels and sounds unique and special. Only a true, master composer can pull that off
He doesn’t really stick to one thing, I think, he just does whatever he can to make the film sound like itself
The Sherlock Holmes movies were also some of his strongest world-building work.
You missed Rain man and Days of thunder
Spirit also has an amazing soundtrack!!
Thanks for help
I'll always remember Hans Zimmer for the MW2 OST.
The intro was faultless

Im just glad to see everyone appreciate Hans while he's still with us. It's refreshing to realize.

I love how I recognize 90% of what they're playing just from watching movies in the past two decades... hats off to you, Hans!
Hans' music talks you through the movie. Thats why his stuff is all so unique.
Stunning... no words.
We opened our first grand Opera house here in Kuwait and we would very much like to see the likes of Hans Zimmer doing live concerts with a full orchestra. Such a brilliant man.
He's the soundtrack to my life.
Definitely agree. He’s a huge inspiration.
All of our lives.
Une vie très mouvementée 😊
they need to release a DVD of some of hans' concerts!
And to think that he has won just one Oscar (1995's THE LION KING) in eleven nominations. May he live as long as John Williams, and continue to give us the incredible music that he been giving all of these years.
Hans is such a great guy! I love listening to his speak, so wise and calm! It would be a pleasure to work with him some day!
Guthrie is on this OMG!
TANGO POLYS yeah man i was like whoaaaaaaaaaaa GG is a beast :O
TANGO POLYS He´s an amazing genius like Hans Zimmer :-) I like Guthrie and his style of playing. He´s a special one within tausends of guitar players that all sound the same. And he seems to be a nice guy.
Hans Zimmer inspires me to keep going in music... ☮🔥
For me ,one word when you say Han Zimmer........its " Wow"! Love the man & his music.
No matter which movie he gets he remains the BEST!
Kudos to Hans, Nick, Richard Harvey and everyone else involved. 10/10 would watch every day.
Hans Zimmer has the most well put music today; music is beyond lit.

How was it ?
HANS ZIMMER is a great genius of music, he always composes music for all the movies, I'm Mexican, but I consider myself his number one fan, nothing to do with today's songs, thanks Hans Zimm
Listening to his music for years. He's a genius

What an amazing artistic genious, such an inspiration to struggling composers like myself. His music makes you feel so humbled,so you push harder to be better every day.
Totally agree! The guy is a legend! Inspired so many people! His music has inspired me to attempt making orchesteal music..only been trying as a hobby the past 8month...but have a ton to learn. Just to be sitting in that studio with these guys, I'd be in total awe!!! It would be the dream!!!
I can't like this video enough. I love Hans Zimmer, and his body of work is nothing short of inspiring.
I never seen such hard work. From those musicans they r all more passionate for Wat they do, I love HZ Rocks 😍😍😍😍
I went to his concert in chicago. It was magical :')
The memories! Will never forget this night, an experience and journey that i'm so privileged to go on with Hans!
The most overlooked composition from Hans Zimmer is Black Rain. Listen with headphones to this masterpiece. Understand how this composer uses melodies to convey emotion. Music composition for film goes from Bernard Hermann to Georgio Moroder to Tangerine Dream to Hans Zimmer. Bravo Hans!
he is a genius period!!!!!!!
It is always a great pleasure to listen to Hans Zimmer music. Cheers from a musician from Brazil!

My favorite composition of his has always been from the movie Spirit.
The music he composed for that film is pure magic and made it my favorite movie ever.

THis guy made MW2 the best COD of all time. Everything he puts his hands on becomes gold. Midas Hans!!
was a great score indeed! Personally, Mw1 was even better if my memory serves me right.. I think it was by harry gregson williams (works allot with Hans).
Yeah, MW2 got me into FPS's back in the day and still remains my favourite cod.
Hans just did the title track. All the rest was composed by Lorne Balfe...
Crysis 2 anyone
Keldon Lemon the best song in the sound track was deadline by Hans Zimmer

I cannot wait for the Hans Zimmer Live in Prague DVD and LP in November. That thing is gonna be a permanent resident on my turntable.
Saw him and his crew yesterday live in Frankfurt.
It was outstanding, I have no words for that.
Hans Zimmer's masterclass ad is phenomenal!!!!! prolly bc Hans Zimmer is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bought tickets for this, cant wait!!!!!
I'm seeing Hans live in NYC this summer, and I cannot wait. The man is a legend!
The compositions he makes is so beautiful........!!!!!
It is wonderful to know the work that goes on behind the curtain to put on such a great show.I was at Berlin Concert in April 2016 and it blew my mind away.
the master class ad inspired me to now seek out any and all Hans Zimmer documentarys/commentarys.
Went to that concert last year and it was great! Watching this brought back great memories, it was an excellent experience, the musicians were incredible, Hans was great fun throughout and the whole time I was grinning from ear to ear. If given the chance I would go again, absolute magic!
Just bought a ticket for his next tour in april 2016....cant wait! My first concert with him.
Wer war denn schon einmal bei einen Live - Konzert ? Ich stelle es mir unglaublich toll vor !!!
Amazing
Hans Zimmer in Prague such an inspiration
I Lerne von dir Hanz, danke.viele Liebe.😊😊😊😊
Hans Zimmer is my favorite composer. He creates truly breath taking pieces of art that adds so much to the emotions that you feel while watching a movie. Most people don't even realize how much score adds to a movie. I always feel like such a nerd because for me the best part of any movie is the score, everything else is just a bonus. Oh well I'm okay with it. 😃

Hans Zimmer and Tomas Bergersen are two greatest modern composers. Their music is out of this world. I always wanted to know HOW they come up with new music, where do they get it from, "what kind of sorcery is this?!" I am really interested if they actually know it themselves. I feel like i cant create anything original (in my head) but i can combine different types of music that i heard. So i dont realy create anything new, i just reuse existing material.
I dunno, Ramin Djawadi is pretty good too.
I am not comparing myself with Hans Zimmer but as I make original music alone myself (smaller scale: Rock, it's here on YT) read a little here and there about it and I can tell you: music doesn't come out of nowhere. In the Western world we are used to certain harmonies and certain sounds. All the music you listen to leaves some sort of impression in your brain (and music you listen repeatedly leaves a deeper impression, obviously). When you write music your brain is taking all this "stored" stuff and blends it to what is your music and to what your skills allow you to do. The blending process is the magic that sometimes results in something great and sometimes in stuff you'd never show anyone. And I am quite sure that even Hans Zimmer throws away some ideas (maybe ideas that others could start a career with but... ;) ).
Fear is what will hold you back. You can't develop your own style by fearing to copy someone and then do nothing. When you write a song you're quite happy with but fear to sound too similar to something existing store it and begin writing something else every week for a few months. Keep all the stuff and practice the writing and working on ideas. When you built some confidence (which you most probably will) return to the first idea and apply what you learned to it...most likely you will be quite surprised. I wasted 10 years with fear (and other musicians...but that's a different story). Now I can hear what influenced my songs but don't fear that someone else does. Especially after some people named bands I didn't even know the name of...
Lla derat you're not alone in this, I can def relate to it.
Dude, ask any musician who's honest with themselves and they will tell you that they're nothing special, & that they just simply steal ideas from their favorite artists but are very good at covering their tracks.
Lla, take a look at this wonderful course by Hans Zimmer! $90.00 for six weeks: www.masterclass.com/classes/hans-zimmer-teaches-film-scoring#/
Danke Hans, ich freue mich, Dich live im April 2015 in Oberhausen erleben zu dürfen!!
Hans zimmer live in concert August 1st!!! Cant wait!!!
I can't believe I'm going to see them live on monday!
That was really inspiring, BIG thank you to Hans and his friends, now it's time for me to do something valuable and interesting with my life, wish you all good luck !!
Love this guy! Best composer ever!
well what can i say love looking over things like this when taking time out from my own music makes me chill and shows me why i do what i do thanks guys
Amazing in every way, something particularly about the music and the zen of the collaboration . 🙏
Fell in love with the violinist
They are professional, work a lot and a superb camaraderie that allows this alchemy. Great !
3:26 Guthrie Fucking Govan!!!!!!!!!!!
Because he can!
You know the best part about Guthrie? Behind all that technical proficiency is an unbelievable amount of feel. his solo album Erotic Cakes is one of the best albums I've ever heard and the song Waves makes me feel things I thought I was incapable of feeling.
It´s a genius!
Green Card was my first his music I met. And I still listen the OST till this day and it’s about 27 years. Of course I listen his other great music too the recent ones I listen are Inception and Man of Steel. His music never fail me to be moved or tears. So thankful for his works. And this video. Thank you so much for this to get to know hime a bit more.
Absolutely brilliant documentary!!!! 💗💗💗
it's awesome, you can see your hands have a conversation as you play the piano
interstellar main theme is amazing sir .....thank you for the great music you create i really appreciate you sir
You are really a great genius Hans Zimmer!
I am listening to all his compositions, inspired me a lot in my last composition for orchestra The Gaia Hypothesis. Thanks for your great job!
My inspiration hans zimmer
For me the best composer of our time is John Williams . He left written the scores almost by his hands no MIDI at all , so all his music will be played by the best Symphonic Orchestras in the world , any time ,any place. The geniality that is attributed to Zmmer is to have atchieved a mixture of the pop music with the soud tracks of our time. Of course the times are changing......
that is a great composer this is just an overrated jew
got my tickets to hans zimmer at Manchester can't wait!!!
last samurai soundtrack just brilliant.
Hanz You have sure been an inspiration. Music to The Arts is all my dreams for our children and believing in music makes our world dream forever. Thank You ! With much respect. Linda
I'm learning to compose music, and in my last composition (The Gaia Hypothesis) used eleven instruments, but I intend to write something with multiple instruments in the style of Hans Zimmer!
Am doing the Hans Zimmer Masterclass - really great opportunity to "spend time" with a composer I genuinely admire...
Amazing!!! Respect to you (ALL)… UK
Great documentary! Thanks for sharing it. :)
This documentary was just fun and awesome to watch especially when you are a fan of Hans♥
Amazing Video. Lots of learning...especially human values. What a hero worship for Hans!!!! Everyone talks the same language. I can visibly see the way Hans treats his amazing musicians like his family. Some of them has 35 years association. Thats very adorable. That clearly demonstrates Hans's personality and how much he values people. I can clearly see here everyone is everyone. Zero discrimination. 👍👍
Great
Guys what’s this masterpieces at 12:15 and 14:39?? Who knows the names of the songs they are playing? It’s probably smth famous, I just can’t remember!!
Beautiful Noise .
Muchas gracias por compartir este precioso documental musical y llenos de vidas.
Paz y musica....
