Before my grandpa passed away when I was 6 years old he would pick me up in his work van and take me to toys r us and have me pick out what I wanted. Most of the time it was Thomas the Train, Pokemon, or Legos but man what special memories do toy stores bring man. Sad to see the future generations won’t experience that same feeling

I remember buying Jungle, Fossil, and Base Set 2 packs back in the day at KB Toys.

it feels like a fever dream looking in this place like everyone went somewhere like this place but we dont know the name of it, its just remembering the store because of the how you felt being in the store
I miss those old school toy shops. The one at the mall when I was a kid had a train track suspended from the ceiling and the train would just run around the shop all day.
Walking around a Toys’r’us & KB toys is one of those quintessential childhood memories. I still remember vividly remember seeing Base set packs & 2 player set boxes at the register. Funny story, went to Toys’R’us with my ma to get a bday present for my friends younger brother (who was like 5-6), she wouldn’t let me get a pack at the register when we were checking out. Long story short, she ended up buying it & adding it to his bday gift & when he opened it up he pulled the Zard. Being 10 years old & thinking that it would have been me getting THE Zard just crushed me lol I felt betrayed 😂
I loved KB Toys. There was one down the street from my Grandparents house in the 90s so they took me there all the time as a kid. Vivid memories of getting Pokemon, Star Wars figures, the original Digimon virtual pets there
KB Toys was the place back in the early 90s, can’t believe both it and TRU are gone!

Those types of stores brings back memories of KB toys and toys R us. So much fun! I miss the days of asking my parents for action figures. They would always say no... But come Christmas time.. you definitely got what you wanted! 😆

Dude I so remember toys R us, where I’m from we had one of the biggest in Europe, it was amazing. Riding around on the little bikes etc, was a toy paradise.

The Hulk figure battle with my wife was also very real. I always told her that there were not enough Hulks in the house. She disagreed.
I remember walking down the aisle of K B Toys and the shelves being so tall they cast their own shadows and making the aisle dark with the shelves and hangers just stacked with toys and products. I grew up more with K.B than toys are us so really relate more to it versus toysrus. My son says he really likes shiny artibax and goldango (? Does it have a shiny)
Remember those toy stores. Loved walking through those as a kid. The sir gardevior is probably my fave card from paldean fates.
Yep I remember BRIGHT lights and the laminate floors! So cool to see a modern version, but nothing will ever beat the original. Thanks for taking us on a trip down memory lane

I remember our outlet mall used to have a kb toys and the entire time my family was shopping at the mall I would just walk around the store haha great memories
Favorite Shiny is the Bubble Mew for sure.
Toys R Us did it for me every time as soon as I saw the inside of that store, instant flashbacks. My favorite shiny is prolly the SAR mew, or the gardevoir full art (it’s shiny in the art but it doesn’t have the shiny stars)

They need to bring stores like this back in a major way. I loved going to KB and TRU walking up and down the isles looking for hidden gems.
The best shiny in Paldean Fates is Mimikyu. No doubt.
As a kid I was in walking distance of a Toys R Us with the original WOTC Pokemon League, those were the days. There was also a Media Play nearby and a KB Toys in the local mall but it was harder to get to that one. Fav shiny from PAF maybe Scizor, other than that SIR shiny zard

Near-ceiling high shelves would make it feel more like KBs/ToysRUs. This feels like a Barnes and Noble's kid's section.

Ahh i miss KB toys and toys r us. Theres still an abandoned toys r us building (with the rainbow paint and everything) by me. Not even spirit halloween has taken it over.
Also, favorite is definitely shiny shinx/Luxray! That whole line is sick.

I'm 30 but was never taken to a toys r us or any other toy store as a kid. So now I love checking out every toy/game store I can. It's basically date night

I love stores like these there's one in the mall here called Indigo that started selling Pokemon cards and I'm obsessed because it's a huge bookstore as well followed by other knickknacks. My favorite shiny pokemon is the Mankey line
I remember my mom getting tons of discount coupons for toys r us and I would go with my cousin once a month to spend those on so many different things. It was sad to see my local toys r us go, but there is one in a mall in Singapore and it was probably the coolest toys r us I have ever seen
We have one of these about 30-45 minutes away from us! It's a great store that has some great board games too
I miss shopping with my nephews at Toys R Us. KB Toys at the mall was always a destination !
To go back even further and really show my age...I bought a lot of my baseball cards and garbage pail kids cards at the area five and dime stores: Mott's (not sure if they were outside of Texas), Ben Franklin's and Woolworth's.

I've gotten to open the Quaquaval box myself & pull rates, if I remember correctly, were close to average. One of my favorite shinies would be any of the tinkatuff line.

Shiny bubble mew 🎉 is my favorite card from Paldean Fates. Fortunately we still have Toys R Us stores in Singapore so in a sense, we never lost that feeling 😊

Can't even remember the last time I've been to a mall. Used to love Toys R Us as a kid though. Favorite Pal Fates shiny is Pikachu with Snorlax being a close 2nd.

I remember walking into ToysRUs and seeing the Pokémon toys for the first time as a kid. It's such an amazing experience as a kid. Love that this is coming back for kids now.

Pretty partial to the shiny Alakazam ex. Shopping the toy isles at a store pales in comparison to the full blown experience of a "toy store". Sure hope they continue to make a comeback!!! Thanks to Vault and the family for sharing.

We didn't have a "big box" toy store in my home town. They were 2 hours away from us. So we rarely went there. That was the 80's and 90's. My favorite shiny is Pikachu!!!!❤
I had a store like that from my childhood in my hometown called Richies playhouse I was so sad when that store shut down now it is hard to find anything remotely like that within 50 miles of me.
