Even though ancient sanctuary isn’t the most valuable. It’s very nostalgic to me so that’s my favorite for me from this opening

I have a similar relationship with Rise of Destiny, growing up my local dollar tree had packs of that set and hoo boi did i have a lot of Harpie Girls
I really like the labyrinth of nightmare for some reason just my personal favorite here. My favorite card to pull from this set is a magic cylinder, One of my favorite cards of ALL TIME.
Ancient sanctuary is my favorite from this opening. Not the best set, but the most nostalgic. I remember buying a ton of these as a kid and pulling my first Zaborg, falling in love with Monarchs from there on
really liked how the old foiling was unique to the actual artwork as seen on the first sarcophagus rather than just a full mirror-like sheet of foiling on the new cards
For ancient sanctuary it’d be cool to see a Spirit of the pharaoh ultra rare! Any ultra rare from LON is good in my opinion. I feel like these sets aren’t as popular but you can’t deny the old school art work from these 2 sets are amazing!
Those Magic Ruler really bring it back. My search for toons in that set brings back memories. And the pack art is amazing.
Loved labyrinth of nightmare. Was so stoked as a kid to potentially get magic cylinder for the first time after seeing it on the anime. Most of the cards from the Battle City arc were amazing XD.

Labirint of nightmare and Magic ruler are absolutely nostalgic. Non as much as Metal Raider and Legend of blue eyes, but anyway you can't go wrong with those vintage packages.

Dark magician of chaos (Breaker and chaos command magician tied for second) has always been my favourite card.
Invasion of chaos was the best booster, it really changed the game.
I remember during that format getting back that spell which was usually raigeki or feather duster was just so good. I remember I got mine by trading for a secret rare gate guardian from a little kid. Kind of feel bad for ripping off the kid but I needed that card. I miss IoC so much. Also, I remember seeing IoC cards have those printing issues alot, so might not be wear.
There may not have been any huge pulls and Ancient Sanctuary may not be the most popular set, but I always love any older pack openings. I always liked Card of Safe Return, good looking card haha. And even though that DMoC has been tarnished, it’s still IOC 1st edition which is the best card ever.
Labyrinth of Nightmare and Ancient Sanctuary are always 2 of my more favorite old sets. LON was really when I started playing a deck, though it was really bad. I remember being the only person around that had a Gemini Elf 1st edition. I later got a Magic Cylinder from a tin that someone tried to jack at work, only they left most of the cards. So I got to buy them for a discount and it had 4 foils. I remember Cylinder being the big one, forget the rest. AST simply because it was where I got End of Anubis from, one of my favorite cards ever. I remember driving Zombie players crazy with it and tricking people into destroying Necrofear, only to Book of Moon Anubis before the End Phase. Definitely Gear Golem is my favorite from your pulls though. That card is nice looking.
Also, yeah that DMOC does look like maybe it was played. I once had both a Luster Dragon and Solemn Judgment that I pulled from packs that had no name at all. They didn't have the imprint of the name either. I did once have an Injection Fairy Lily I got in a trade that was doctored. Whoever had it before the guy that traded it to me had attempted to trim the edges like Arkana did in the anime. It didn't work the way they planned though.
I have very little connection with a lot of older sets, but I am starting to appreciate sets like Ancient Sanctuary as sort of an underdog amongst the classic sets
When I was a child I loved that Poison Mummy artwork; I think I'll go for Pharaonic Guardian for the nostalgia
Ancient Sanctuary probably has top 10 best sleeve art in the YGO in my opinion. Very clean and easy on the eye.

I'd have to say I agree with a lot of the comments that Ancient Sanctuary doesn't get enough love. I'm not horribly complaining though because it made them really affordable but I just love the themes and artwork in that set. As a kid I pulled Sanctuary in the Sky and I still look back on that card a lot and admire how beautiful the artwork is. That said though, I also thing Magic Ruler doesn't get nearly enough love. The commons are hit and miss but the Toons and Relinquished and the broken Magic cards are so insanely nostalgic and cool. I also love the whole Magic/Spell controversy, adds some fun lore to it all LOL.

You can tell every time a foil is coming from ancient sanctuary with the way the back looks of them.. the color is different

Nice classic opening today for sure! My favorite pack today is MRL, but still every set is great for sure. I haven't seen much AST open, so being able to see a bunch of it lately makes me really happy!

My favorite card is Dark Paladin from Duel Masters Guide. My dad got me one for Christmas so it has warm memories associated with it. Plus he's a dragon slayer lol
Love seeing AST get opened! One of my favorite sets and doesn’t get as much appreciation as it should. The older blisters are crazy to see too. Really brings me back to when they were everywhere.

Favorite pack opened was LON. Everyone wanted Gemini elf and magic cylinder. Such an iconic pack. I pulled two magic cylinders in my day and was king of the world

The 1st edition ancient sanctuary were my favourite, very nostalgic. I used to get 1 pack of yugioh a week as allowance and I think a lot of that was ancient sanctuary and labyrinth of nightmare
Card of safe return is a favorite of mine. Tough to use in goat, however i did play against someone who used ectoplasm and the doll card with it

I remember buying my forest pack from an ice cream truck back in 2003 I think, it was a magic ruler lol , after that my mom bought me a booster box, I was in elementary school at the time and didn’t know shit about building decks lmao, me and my brother would just put in all the cool cards and play.
All the monsters related with the ancient egypt make "ancient sanctuary" my favourite set among these opened !!

I still have the card, it's a trashy secret but it holds sentimental value because I have a pretty bad luck but when I was a teenager it was a great pull.

I love ancient sanctuary because its code (AST) is the same as a family members name. I especially like Wall of revealing light in that set as I played it in a final countdown goat deck alot.

Definitely my favourite is Ancient Sanctuary because i love nostaligc cards and my favourite card, i could sound a little bit lame, but i love the Swordsman of Landstar cuz im such an big fan of Joey Wheeler and this card is so iconic for him!
My favorite is AST. I love the color and the artwork of all the cards. Its not a great pack, but its always going to be one of my favorites.

For me, I really enjoy AST because I really like The Santuary in the Sky archetype. Yeah, if I could still get some of these old school packs (especially GX ones) for $1.99, you bet I would bought out the store immediately haha.

Favorite old school set was (besides IOC) would have to be Pharoahic guardian (had insane luck in the pack)
