    Great episode mr. Salty! What do you think about a long term solution to prevent diesel bug’s?

      Get a plastic tank instead of those old metal tanks and keep it full to prevent condensation. There are some products you can put in your diesel that can help, but I’m not sure how well they actually work. See problems regardless, actually. And off course have good filters, so you don’t get this stuff in your engine.

      Have you had bugs in your fuel, mr.Andreas? And in that case, what did you do? Those microbes 🦠 can really give you big problems if not attended to. 😵‍💫

      @@SaltyMechanicsJunior luckily I have an outboard petrol engine at the moment - condensation and water is also an issue but not “diesel bugs” 🐛 😅 using fuel stabiliser and full tank as my solution to minimise the problem…

      Yea, fuel stabiliser is a great solution. Then you can leave the boat with less worrying during the winter. Like you said, bugs is no issue, but condensation is. I love inboard Diesel engines, but I have to say…Outboards are great now. Much easier to maintain and if you need to do repairs you can actually get access to it. 🙃

      @@SaltyMechanicsJunior diesel’s has a lot of advantages; eg. fuel price and fire hazard. My next big project boat will most likely have to big yanmar diesel’s 👍

    Thank you for channel plug. I appreciate that. 🙏 Your cinema style videos and blog style is still better then what I do in my opinion. Another good video as always. 😁 I feel your pain with never having enough time for everything. 😉

      Sure thing! And thank you for that. My style is different and its just how I like to film it, but I have to say your content is better if you want to learn how to really do stuff your self and understand it at the same time. Its good for the viewer to have different channels from the same type of jobs. Just get a drone, and you can make it all cinematic. haha no prob.

    This video is (as always) high quality stuff! Super interessting to see the engine room in the Jeanneau boat, that’s also some high quality stuff😁 Keep up the good work! Love following you!

      Thank you! I’m getting better at flying the drone while I drive boats and do repairs 🙃! Glad you liked this one, and thank you for being a solid part of the comment section(as always)🙏

    Diesel bugs?! Is that a thing? Diesel eating bugs? That’s the most Mad Max thing I’ve ever seen!

    • @SaltyMechanicsJunior
      @SaltyMechanicsJunior  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes! It’s a thing. They are microbes 🦠 and when you get condensation in your diesel tank you can get a lot of them in the water. So they “live and breed” and have all the food they can eat from the diesel. After som time they start to form like jello. That means that no diesel can pass, so the engine can’t run. I should definitely talk som more about this mad max stuff in an episode soon 🦠🙏🦾
