You’ll have to patch dimmer channels according to the number of channels that is in the fixture. Then try one by one channel and write down the attributes.
Ex (pan,tilt, dimmer, shutter, colours) then create the file accordingly.

Great Tutorial Man, still a bit confused. I want to create a R20 file for a 3ch Par Led (Red, Green, Blue). I tried to follow your steps
but I only managed to put only 2 of these colors on the 2 wheels. How do I get Red, Green and Blue on my faders? It would be great if you could help me
If it is 3 channel it’s easy.
Just add the 3 colours to attributes.
Then create a mode. Select the creayted mode and add those attributes to the mode.
Selecting the mode that created go to channels tab and see if the channel order is correct.
Then again selecting the mode go to wheel mapping tab. Red, Green, blue should be in C-Mix wheels. Then check the mapping for classic Pearl since you are trying to create a R20 file.

Actually i have another question about the Showtec Creator 2048, idk if that's a name to you but i think it's also pretty similar to those kingkongs out there. Now i want to create scenes with it, which wouldn't be a problem if it's a fixture but this time i want to record scenes with dimmers. The Problem that comes with it is that dimmers can't be deselected. You have a solution or advice for this?
I’m not sure about Creator 2048. But I think that the options are same as Avolites Pearl. So dimmers can be selected and after making this scene. Bring down the dimmer faders and clear the console. That should work. I’m not sure if I told you the exact terms used in Creator 2048.

What you can try is use an original show file and alter it as you need according to your fixture channels. That might work with capture.
@@shashionlights but for now, I haven't combine my custom personality with capture built in models yet. Can I merge these custom files and built in models to be able to operate in Capture. bcoz the fixture I use have no model in capture.
Open a similar built in fixture file and alter that file to match your one. That should work.

@@shashionlights Hello , Want to share this with you so you can share with others. Quartz Light board does have USB port's, I connect a USB keyboard / USB wireless mouse and does work to add names etc. on custom attributes. Take care

Install the personality builder same as you install any other software. You can download the personality builder from Avolites website.

Most of the Chinese fixtures won’t appear in visualizer. It should be capture enabled fixtures to see in visualizer

Since it is 6 channel you’ll be able to find one most probably. If you can tell the exact Channels of your fixture, I can find one for you.

You can use CTO or CTO color mixing. Or use raw DMX rename as you need.
HI. very good video. i need to know one thing: in a 16ch wash moving head in the ch15 menu it is written empty. must this channel be inserted for correct operation or can it become a 15ch fixture and not 16? second: I have some old beam moving heads that I would like to insert in the quartz but I have lost the fixture Channel instructions. No, make that empty channel As a blank channel.
Yes you can plug it to the console and add dimmer channels. Try from first channel to the last. While trying write down the values. That’s how I make if I don’t have the manual.

Yes you can. But no need of creating a 16 channel fader fixture file. You can just patch 16 dimmers and try.

In Quartz you have to use D4 files.
Have to save your fixture files to D hard disk,

Go to "Modes tab" on left and select your mode.
Then go to "Channels" tab on bottom.
Then you may see all channels.
In your "Pan 16bit" channel give 1,3
And in "Tilt 16bit" channel give 2,4
This should work.

Custom fixtures won’t work in capture visualizer. You have to request form capture team to include in their library. So they will include it in their next update.

You can make a file according to the fixture manual. or find a similar one from Avolites personality finder.
hi my friend. I have a problem with some fuxtures that I got from avolite finder. it is a beam fixture (locate is strobe) and open is 85% strobe. the colors do not match the palettes. Can I fix it from the software or do I have to make it new?
Hello my friend. You can change it through personality builder. Edit it and save it as a new personality file, that way it will be safe if you need to use the original file.
@@shashionlights I found the problem in the attribute shutter: I wanted to ask you: can I put a generic 0/255 to be faster or is it better to follow the steps in the manual strobe pulse etc? However, I saw that I can generate these effects with avolite in the shape section
@tony8236 yes you can use 0/255 but when programming it’s always better if you can go properly with values and attributes. That will be come handy if you have to do a fixture exchange. Yes you can make strobe effect through shape generator and key frame shape too.

If it is a pixel controllable strip you might have to add cells in your fixture file.
But if it is a long pixel strip with many pixels, don’t create a fixture file. Patch as individual fixtures, generic RGB or Generic RGBW

You can send a fixture request to avolites. From avolites personality website. They will include it to the library and send you a mail.
