Watching The Batman in cinemas the other day (no spoilers), I couldn't help but smiles at all the small details from this book, that clearly inspired the new movie - like Martha being an Arkham, Batman messing up sometimes etc. A solid mix of Earth One and Zero Year, I think.
Also some of long halloween.
And Year One and a hint of Ego
I read Earth-One after watching the film and I had a stupid grin when Batman told Oz “I’m Vengance!”
His first time gliding comes to mind.

Geoff Johns has a special place in my heart. He got me into comics with his Green Lantern run. He also turned Booster Gold into the amazing character he is now. Although nobody seems to know what to do with Booster sadly...

Geoff Johns is a great writer along with Grant Morrison who's run on Justice League got me into liking Justice League a lot. Also I have to admit Knightfall still remains a special place in my heart. It was the first story I ever read when I was a kid. Imagine a ten year old who never has read a batman comic and use to seeing him on Animated Series on fox. The first issue he reads is where Bane breaks his back. Welcome to comics kid.
I guess Birthday Boy couldn't have his cake and eat it too.

Tiffany's reaction at 40:08 was priceless. Not to mention her reaction to the notion of a "rape room". I laughed so hard at this whole episode. Great job and thank you Tiffany for bringing smiles to my face.
2:37-2:45 is what played through my mind when i first saw Battinson and I AM HERE FOR IT.
Coming back to rewatch this (for the fifth or sixth time) before “The Batman” drops in 2 days….as it gives MAJOR Earth One vibes. SO glad they’re pulling from a pretty good series (even if it only has 3 volumes for Batman) and I hope, if they do a Superman in this universe, they use J. Michael Straczynski’s take as the template.

This kinda reminded me of Kickass; (semi)realistic take on superheroes/vigilantes where the protagonist is still finding his footing and there's some luck involved when it comes to taking out the enemy

That lighter interrogation gag literally made me laugh like the Joker.
Birthday boy seemed like such an odd choice for the serial killer in this. Would've preferred someone a little less hulking beasty, like Zsaz or someone. Overall though, we really dug the new take on the character, and some of the really inspired elements like kick ass Alfred and "experiencing technical difficulties" Batman. Plus, Gary Frank on artwork is more than enough to give it a buy, even if Johns wrote it with his feet.

Earth One Volume 2 is one of my favourite Batman stories of all time. It's like Nolan, it's fresh, and entertaining as hell.
In short, PLEASE DO VOL 2.

I love Batman Earth One. I especially enjoy the Harvey Bullock/Jim Gordon dynamic and how weird it is.

This book sounds awesome. Good vid guys. Although sometimes I suspect Sal has too much power because his story telling abilities are so strong, he can convince anyone of the quality (or lack thereof) of any comic. That's his superpower. He's the god damn Storytelling Man! lol

Interesting take. I like the idea of "Batman if Batman weren't sacred". Obviously, I think we all prefer our Batman of the "goddamn" variety, but it's nice to make believe. :) In other news, I'm hoping to sell some old 360 games to make the scratch for Arkham Knight, that'd be one hell of an Off The Rack episode though.
I'm WAY more interested in this batman than any other... batman is a rather dull character so I like seeing a more "humanized" batman that isn't "the smartest superheroz ever and he can beat superman and save the world single handedly cuz hez super smartz"
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this batman!

This sounds like most of the plot of the Gotham TV show. Also great info withholding of the Penguin being mayor til the end.
I love you guys and Back Issues in particular, but this was the best/most funny episode since the epic two-part Spawn take down! Great work. Earth One was a fun romp.
