- I ended up sueding and restringing this doll directly after filming this video by the way, and it made a WORLD of difference! I gifted this girly to my friend back on the 22nd of December. They've named her Matilda, and hope to get her a brown wig someday. Yay!

It's a bit strange that the seller included clothes that doesn't even fit the doll.. :P
Yeah for sure, although after talking to them I can confirm that it was their first and only doll. They had no idea what to do with her, how to get clothes for her, etc etc. It was a shame for them honestly, because with her as loose as she was, they couldn't easily play with her either. So in that way the clothes situation kind of makes sense. My main concern was that I wanted to gift the doll with some clothes/wig/eyes so that she could at least be complete for my friend. Thankfully this was still the case, and the extra things that didn't fit were of use to me and my other dolls, so it was a win win really :)

You're so kind!!!!! Will you ever do a video on re-stringing and sueding? I've literally only ever strung one doll because I had no choice (unoa kit) and I've just ordered elastic to re-string one of my dolls. I remember I followed a PICTURE tutorial on how to do it the first time lol.
Millie is in need of both, and I hope to film the process when I get around to it, so yeah! Not sure when it'll happen though 😅

Yey, she's a super cute doll, yey for you restringing her before you gifted her coz as a newbie that would be a scary project to tackle. I'm a year and a bit into the hobby and still too scared to do that on any of mine. Love the name. and she lookes (forgive the pun) but lovely in the dress and blonde wig.
She is adorable! And it is so sweet of you to refurbish a doll as a gift. :D I hope your friend loved her! Regarding her black wig, which looks like her default - the old Volks wigs (old as in produced around 15 years ago or longer...) do tend to be barely elasticated. Maybe a silicone wig cap underneath would give better grip?
What an incredibly sweet gesture for your friend! I never was a fan of Volks dolls until this video..she really is super cute and I like her face style..kinda like anime characters, instead of more human/realistic. I hope your friend enjoys little Matilda, and you both are able to have dolly dates together to plan more wigs and outfits for her! I am slowly but surely wearing my coworker down into getting a BJD lol She wants an anubis character.

What makes you think I bought her for a high price point lol 😋 I didn't mention how much I paid just in case the friend I gifted her to watched the video ...just out of curiosity, what would you consider to be a good price for everything? I'm really interested in hearing what you think! 🤔
@@LavilyDay Well... I never said you paid a high price point for that doll. I said..."I HOPE" you didn't pay a lot for that doll considering the loose string issues. I just assumed it was purchased off Ebay or some other secondary dealer. I have no idea how much a doll like that would cost. I do know a lot of similar dolls made by Japanese doll designers can be pretty pricey.
