@@tinkthestrange Not really. You can tell and still not accomplish anything.
I have told many people my stories of childhood abuse, and I probably sound like someone who has outed all of my abusers all across the earth. But I haven't. Even though I'm no public figure or anything. To this day I have never brought these stories to my other family members. I have also not, in my adult life, reported the men who raped and abused me.
By now, I bet you all of my other relatives would NOT be surprised if I told them the truth about both of my parents. I am sure they would believe me. Over the years, they should have come to see in their own way that SOMETHING happened. In a way, it's too late to talk about. One is dead, one spent more than a decade being a carer and is a different person now.
And if I had reported the men in my adult life, they would already be out of prison, and free to hurt me again. Even if they served maximum sentences for what they did. It is much more terrifying to anger an abuser and have them go after you again, than it is to try and control them in your own way. The sad reality. I was threatened very clearly to not tell. Now I'm sure they know I've told others, but one is so dangerous I would never say to his face that I've "told on him", not without a death wish.
What I needed in those times were people in my life that were good, and who wouldn't think it okay for me to stick around abusers. Until I had that, I never could have revealed my stories. Everyone's different, but it's not a victim's responsibility to do this... it is your choice to do so or not. It is terrifying, and dangerous. I was threatened to not tell since I was a small child, what other reality did I know? People need to know that others are living like this, so they may recognize it when it happens.
Btw... I abandoned my last friend circle because, once I finally told them about the rapists in it, they still continued being friends with them as if nothing had changed. It's easy to think nothing will be done, when people act fine with the behavior.

The big news, for me, in all of this is that Brian Robbins was alerted to this as well and he did nothing to help anyone but Dan Schnider. Now Robbins was a close friend and writing partner of Dan's from Head of the Class that then moved to writing and directing Nickelodeon shows along with Dan. Telling him about her concerns for Amanda was treated like passing along chisme about his friend that they then used to ban Lori Beth instead of doing the right thing.
For the record: Brian Robbins has been the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon since 2021. He was named the co-CEO of Paramount Global in April 2024. Dude is now a top tier dog in the business. Hide wives and hide your children.

I had a gut feeling something sinister had happened with Lori Beth. I assumed she’d quit acting years ago but she didn’t, she’s just struggled to get hired. I know Hollywood is notoriously image obsessed and prejudiced against larger people (women in particular), but she was beloved by fans and she’s a great comedy actress. I feel like she could have easily had a successful career as a character actor playing multiple small roles like Margo Martindale, Frances Conroy, Kathryn Hahn etc (she always reminded me of a young Annette Badland, one of the UK’s most successful character actors who’s been in Ted Lasso, Outlander, Eastenders, Doctor Who, and loads of other hugely successful shows).
Thinking about the timelines, Lori hasn’t had a prominent role in anything since The Steve Harvey Show. She joined the cast in 2000 and stayed until the series ended in 2002. She would have been working on the Steve Harvey Show around the time that she visited the Amanda Show set and made a complaint about Dan Schneider. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she couldn’t get hired after the show ended. It really wouldn’t surprise me if Dan had her blacklisted.

With the dinner roll story, I know what it’s like to joke around with someone thinking they’re just joking around (because they had been joking around the whole time) only for them to turn on a dime and explode with rage at you because how dare you not take them seriously. You’re startled and confused wondering if you did something wrong. No, the angry person is just being a jerk who feels the need to step on others to feel superior.
What do you want to bet people brushed off Lori Beth’s concerns for Amanda with, “Oh, she’s just jealous!”? People need to stop breaking that phrase out for every little thing without thought. I once heard someone claim, “He’s just jealous!” about someone who was actually more popular (and seemingly successful) than than the person he was supposedly jealous of, leading me to wonder, “Jealous of what?”

Just devastating, i feel so bad that Lori had to speak out, but I’m grateful she did so others can feel comfortable to come forward to. We don’t blame Lori at all, I’m so sorry this happened to her and anyone else. I hope she reads all of our kind words and feels empowered that she spoke out and that she knows we’re all supporting her and rallying around her. Even all these years later.

The problem with Nickelodeon and Disney stars over 18 is, people like Dan feel more comfortable taking advantage and exploiting them simply because they’re legal adults and not minors anymore🙁he did the same thing to a then 21-year -old Daniella Monet on the show with Victoria Justice.

TBH it's possible that she was still processing the trauma and waited until she saw the reception to protect herself. With that much power imbalance it's possible she was scared what Dan will do at this point if Dan acts against any of the victims it will be easily known now. People are keeping an eye on his actions now so he can't abuse his power.

HEY RABBIT. It's been a while. This whole Nickelodeon thing is heartbreaking but not surprising. I feel like we've seen the outcome of "child actors" over the decades, and it's most definitely because of "accusations" like these. I believe ALL these adults who were children. DAN S. Is a F'ing creep.

Let's say hypothetically, Dan truly was sorry for what he'd done. That they were true signs of true re morse, and he apoIogized directly to the kid actors. No matter his guiIt and ownership, would you guys still think automatically he's disgracefuI and unforgivabIe?

  • @Corey111588
    @Corey111588 Pƙed 22 dny

People like Dan are blatantly evil but they are protected by the same system that is supposed to protect others from people like them. It makes me sick that these people are allowed to do this crap right under people’s noses for decades and then walk around free after they get caught. If the justice system had an ounce of real compassion, there would be no amount of fame, power, money or any limitation statute that would protect these people from being served justice. It’s all about money. If you couldn’t use money to keep yourself out of trouble, over half of the people in the entertainment industry would be in prison right now.

I believe Lori Beth over Dan any day. And this case shows that It doesn't matter if she was of age, she was still victimized. These cases show that time and time again, Dan is nothing but a misogynistic creep that gets a kick out of being inappropriate with women. What a scumbag.
