- Finally Managed to finish this but it was held off due to game dev stuff, not to mention finding a better and more versatile video maker since flash wasn't the best to deal with text noises.

I can't believe you somehow made Noelle even more adorable with her body langauge, and Susie's animations are on point all throughout! Loved her tryning to work out what she should be doing when Noelle interrupts.
Still though, the slow head turn from Kris following Susie's excuse was just GOLD.

Honestly I felt it was the other way around, Kris would totally say they were doing crimes. He absolutely loves messing with his friends, especially poor little Noelle lol.

Just saying this. Its really strange seeing how good of friends kris and susie are. After coming from sweepstakes, learning that susie literally only bullied kris, snd it was for a while. And that kris said something to her to make her leave
when I first saw the thumbnail I thought that Smooth Criminal was gonna start playing as Kris walked out
Susie switching through various stances and vibes as soon as Noelle walked up was absolutely priceless, they're such adorable characters.
I think this is the longest one yet. I can only imagine the pain of getting every frame natural, fluid and good-looking enough for 4 minutes and 20 seconds! Geez Louis it looked like all of them were actually here

@@shadowAOD it's a shame that Toby couldn't make the animations more fluid, but it makes sense giving the amount of sprites it would take, and the player would be reading dialog throughout most of the animation's duration.

Gods damn, this is *so* good! The fluid animations, the little waves Kris & Noelle did, the hair movements, it was so.. GOOD! Holy crap. Noelle was so cute with her little awkward poses and hair movement, and Susie's awkward attempts to look "cool" after she panicked.

Now now, we DO want the game to be finished in this century, not in a millennia.

and character. I always felt attached to the idea that maybe Kris is freed from the player's control through cutscenes. It's a headcanon I know but this captures the idea well.

So Cutscenes are a brief unshacklement from the Player.

Just everything about this from the movements and expressions that give each character's sprite a lot more personality! Even the changes in how fast the dialogue appears changing is a really beautiful touch!
Susie scrambling to pull up her act again but occasionally breaking character a bit, Kris moving the bare minimum except for reacting to what's currently happening, and Noelle's small mannerisms as she shyly converses with Susie...
This is gonna sound really exaggerated but believe me when I say this feels like I'm watching the scene for the first time again, freaking out about everything and all the detailing. This is amazing work, and I love the completely new cutscene you've added and what seems to a complete redesign of the Dark World!
Trying to recreate the portal was the hardest part ^_^' , it involved taking a gif of the portal animation and cleaning every frame of it lol

On the contrary, it would be more like other games. Most games aren’t stiff and reserved like a lot of these sprites are. The way they move has a lot of charm as is.

@@TheAwesomeDarkNinjaI doubt it would take too long, just get someone to make the base sprites/animations as a placeholder and then have a separate few hired people focus on upgrading them to this form. Would involve very little from Toby or any of the others in the team other than saying what exactly they want in a smooth scene like this so no time would be lost. It’s just that it’s not necessary to do it like this and the game is great the way it is already so Toby ain’t see a need to.

Fan designs for this game are getting better and better. Everyone, even Kris, has so much character! It's unlikely this would ever work out, but given the passion for Deltarune and the current graphical quality, Toby working with some of his audience could mean great things for the future.
P.S. The video length... is this why they land in Castle Town at all?

Yes, it's a different style, but with enough time and resources the original could be 'upgraded' to this. That doesn't mean the current game is just bad, but it shows what could be.

I think adding an animation to something that currently doesn't have an animation is definitely a good idea, I just think a too smooth animation kinda clashes with the pixel style of the game

I wish we could get an entire MOVIE animated like this! I know normal animators don't go to these lengths because you're literally animating frame by frame but it's so nice to see sprite animation done this way instead of stretching, chopping up, and rotating things unnaturally.

as a pixel artist this is REALLY well animated, the hair when entering the dark world looks a bit weird and sideways kris also looks Weird but aside from that this is so god damn good

I am not a pixel artist, or even good at drawing, but I've read the book Pixel Logic. It seems like pixel art is a lot like painting, but harder in some ways (with things like anti-aliasing and subpixel animation). So I appreciate how impressive it is.
Also, it all just looks really good. The character animation looks so much more expressive compared to what I'm used to.
0:20 is so uncannily smooth and realistic, I can't imagine how long it took to make that

i'm always very picky with undertale/deltarune fan content and hesitated before clicking on this video because it's very easy to stumble upon low-quality stuff that doesn't properly capture the essence of the original. this is not the case for this animation. the little mannerisms, the smoothness and quality of the animation, the new poses, it's all VERY VERY good. i love this!

This is genuinely one of the best Deltarune fanworks I've ever seen. The animations add so much to the characters, and it feels like you captured their personalities so well! I loved the part where Noelle whispers to Kris, and Susie leans in to try to listen in to their conversation, like that never occured to me before, but Susie would so totally do that! This was awesome
This is amazingly well done, especially considering how small of a resolution the sprites have to work with. the tiny details in the faces is superb!
This makes me so satisfied yet dizzy at the same time.. it’s perfect!
