You can only tax people into poverty, but you cannot tax them out of it. This isn't just basic economics, it is the history of taxation.

Singh- he still has a job because your party formed a coalition with the Liberals rather than called an election.

I’m single with no children. I can’t afford groceries anymore because my rent is so high. A school food program isn’t going to help me.

Trudeau or no Trudeau, if our leaders (both business and political) can not do anything to stop constant price hikes on things like property tax, water tax, insurance, groceries and just about everything else, what do you think is going to happen !? Somebody, do something !

Yeah, and most of that is happening in PC controlled provinces. In Ontario, Doug Ford is cutting funding, or not increasing funding, to things like O/W, ODSP etc. along with that, they are not doing enough to help families with small kids. The Feds can only do so much, but the provinces need to help as well. Something they don't do if they are PC. And yes, that means that taxes need to go up, as these programs are tax funded. We are not taxing people into poverty here. As a matter of tact, in quite a few cases, we Canadians, pay less versus Americans. There are many countries where the taxation is higher, but they also have everything covered (medical, dental, prescriptions, as well as programs like ODSP etc). We need higher taxes, not less. This will help Canadians do better.
The interesting thing is that the PC always call out taxes that the liberals have, they want them cut, but when they get into power, they bring back those taxes with a different name.

If you cant live off 40 an hour, you're doing something wrong. You do not fall into the poverty category. Try living on minimum wage.
