Whitmer, a national co-chair of the Biden-Harris campaign, has reiterated her support for the president in recent days as he faces mounting calls to withdraw from the race following a poor debate showing last month. She pointed to Biden’s busy schedule in a new Q&A interview with USA Today while answering a question on his age and mental acuity.

It is a real concern- that he could not finish another 4 year presidency or not have the cognitive ability or stamina to make serious decisions for our country in his current state. He looks like he is going to fall down when he walks. And he has had many episodes where he seems to space out and mumble and forget where he is and what he was saying. Part of being in a democracy is having the ability to speak out if we feel someone is not capable of fulfilling his duties. I respect Joe Biden and think he did a great job the past 4 years. But I think either his ego or his family’s lust for power are going to cause us to end up losing to Trump and we will all regret that we didn’t come up with a better candidate to defeat Trump. But then it will be too late. Now is the time to ask questions and challenge whether he is healthy enough to be president for 4 more years.

A good debate performance would have been great ammunition against that argument. A subpar performance would have been bad and only added to the claims of senility. Denial is powerful. If you can watch that debate and believe Biden is still qualified to be president YOU ARE IN DENIAL. The election is going to be decided by swing voters (as always).
