They played with friends (such as Joe Henderson on sax), and they released four albums: (1) The Griffith Park Collection; (2) The Griffith Park Collection 2; (3) Echoes of an Era; and (4) Echoes of an Era 2. All are available on CD.

Upright bass was really Stanley's main instrument, before he went electric. He was classically trained and played upright bass with Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Joe Henderson and Pharoah Sanders. The first incarnation of Return To Forever in the early 70's was acoustic. Chick Corea told Stanley RTF was going electric, which forced him to become an electric bass player as well. The rest is history as to how he revolutionized the electric bass, but to his own account he's probably better on upright.
When I grow up in some other lifetime I want to play Bass like Stanley.......incredible and perfect.
