- This guy was at an arcade at a theme park we were at and he's insane. Its amazing how fast his feet move and how he was getting every step and it was perfect. Not to mention how he was super-stylin' it too.he even had a towel to wipe his sweat and shoes(lol) and water.this guy is serious about this!

@@princeking1562 The video you sent me is a game called Pump It Up.
This video is Dance Dance Revolution.

Just to be that guy, it's not a car game, it's a boat game lol. Hydro Thunder FTW
Plot twist: the cheers are coming from the car game because in my experience those things are loud as fuck
Love how he was so focused when he was done he had to second look the crowd of people because he didn't realize they were there
He knew. Trust me.
He 100% knew. He was trying to show off 300% more with exaggerated moves lolol.
I try not to look at the crowd when i am dancing.but we all have some side vision is all we need when dancing.if we look back.some people might think you just want to show off.and they bounce.
Probably knew. Playing a rhythm game makes you feel more aware of everything because of stress (from my experience at least)
@@stetsonvestal4751 that ending for max 300 is EASIER if you turn around instead of jerking back to the neutral position. Thos doubles set you up right for turning around so you should do it. Unless you understand that, it looks like showing off.
ITG even had songs where turning around 360 in middle of the song was purposefully put into the step patterns and you'd doo poorly if you didn't do it like that :D
Man being at an amusement park 10 years ago and walking pass the arcade and seeing these mythical creatures doing this shit hit different 😭😂😂
DDR was already on the way out when this video was shot :( arcades had been dying for years and online gaming was finishing it off. I'll never forget when Guitar Hero got big and people stopped playing DDR. I know other stuff was happening, but it felt like the switch from DDR to GH happened at the exact moment people started spending more time online than they did in real life. People just sat at home playing GH and putting it up on early CZcams. This was around 2008. The recession closed a bunch of arcades and other places that had DDR. Gas was $3.80 a gallon so driving places was expensive. Easier to just sit inside and screw around online.
You can still catch ‘em at Round1 arcades! They have the new version and a lot of the OG players now older still play!
@@RsRj-qd2cg As much as I enjoy DDR, I do still have to thank GH for getting me wanting to take real guitar seriously, and then GH2 introduced me to Primus.
@@duncanbug Yep Round 1 has them and a lot of older players actually used their adult money to buy the actual cabinet to play at home lol when I get my own house I plan to do the same xD
@@RsRj-qd2cg There is still a ton of arcades , also games like Pump it Up and DDR never stopped getting new Versions. Online Games will never replace Rhythm Games such as the 2 mentioned
This machine is probably in some random guy’s basement now
It may very well be the one in my garage. I bought it from a storage unit lol.
@@jeremyshartzer261 For how much if you dont mind me asking? I am looking to get one but conscious of price.
@@merdacalcio I bought the full storage unit for a single price. I'd bet a DDR Extreme is probably anywhere from $1500-$2000 now, but I'm not sure.

It's one of my ultimate goals to get a crowd this big when playing DDR
Lmao
its surprisingly easy lol. litterally play any song above a 10 and you're money
@@Cirnology for real, but it got to be a stamina chart
It's more of a distraction than anything. As someone who plays out in public I'd rather just be left alone I'm not doing anything that special other than playing a game. The majority of the time though no one really cares and that's fine by me. In worst case scenarios I've also had unattended toddlers jump on the pads beside me while playing doubles, which is cute and all but I don't want to run them over if I don't happen to notice them lmao.
@@queuedjar4578 the toddler scenario is horrible
This is still impressive in 2022. Takes a great deal of stamina.
This is the level I want to achieve.

TRUTH!
still pretty tough to combo without a bar.
@@Pixel_Dripz Depends on the player, but mostly true.
I haven't played since forever but PSMO was the hardest in my days
@@4pines943 It still is pretty difficult. PSMO is a 16, I'm pretty sure, which isn't a pushover. The games evolved a lot though, and 16 is nowhere near as difficult as some of the songs now. I was "that guy" 18 freakin years ago now @.@ Song is MAX300, which is infamous among players for being the first "strictly for veterans" song. So much so that it could only be accessed as a bonus song for exceptional play of your final songpick, unless the owner used a machine code to make it always available. Which in the case of casual arcades, was never the case. Oh, and as bonus song it had to be played with the arrows reversing downward, at a faster speed, invisible "arrow catchers", and the arrows vanish right before when you step them. If you missed just a few, it was over. Took me over a year just to pass the unlocked, normal ver with a C. Many a leg cramp those nights!
Shoutout to all the DDR players, former and current :)
Being 42, max 300 is still tough. Though I did play for almost 4 hours straight.
My legs were locked up literally a few times
Lmao at the laser tag place I used to play most of my DDR at, the owner unlocked everything. All games were free if you bought a laser tag pass. So people would buy passes and not even play laser tag. They'd just take advantage of the unlimited DDR with the bonus tracks unlocked. Initial D, Mortal Kombat 3, and Soul Calibur were also free. Passes were $20 a night, and considering that other arcades could eat through $20 of tokens pretty quick, that was a good deal.
Long live DDR!
@@honesteagle98 My legs start to have spasms in my upper thighs after playing for too long like that, which is awful when you're mid-song lol. I think it has to do with replenishing certain nutrients because I've found that eating 3+ hours into playing and then going back to it after seems to keep it from occurring.
Now: i was not able to playing DDR back then, but now I have so much trouble with MAX360 CSP lol
The fact he's going at that speed, playing freely and not holding onto the bars is what makes this even crazier.
This brings me back HELLA hard. Like, when playing at arcades with your friends for a whole day was the norm. Great times.
And sure, it's been like 15 years since this was considered difficult, but like passers-by have no reason to know that so they're still impressed by 300. I'm fine with that. Lucky for their eyes he wasn't on the ITG machine that's right there LOL!
Lmao, “watch me pass a song that has 4,000 arrows on it (ITG)”. People be like…..”O.O, ARE YOU “DANCING WITH THE STARS”!?!?!?!, what kind of speed you on bro??!?!?”

max 300 without bar humping is insanely hard to do. that song is unbelievably brutal. even holds up today as a ballbuster of a song. it just gives you that one little chance to catch your breath before the last push, but man its hard to not be out of gas after that, and this is coming from someone who used to spend 5-6 hours every saturday playing ddr at the arcade
What song was that. It sounds/looks like R3 but it's been so long I cant remember
@@DKCG0113 The song being played here is MAX 300, it was the hardest song in DDR Max (6th Mix). It was the song I was working on clearing at the time when I stopped playing DDR, so it's kind of that mountain I tried to climb but never made it to the peak.
It's actually pretty average for a 15. It has no gimmicks and it's really straightforward, but I still love this chart. If you want an actual hard 15 look for Ace of Aces or Osaka Evolved.

Still a huge DDR community going strong -- in fact, there's a big revival since the 20th anniversary arcade release. You can find the newest model machines at Dave & Buster's and Round 1 arcades. They receive frequent updates like unlockable songs. So, we're still around! :)
@@devinmarshall6091 DDR is still big but not as big as before
As toxic as the fandom can be, FNF itself has gradually gotten more and more impressive with every update. While it isn’t a replacement for DDR, I do have very high hopes for the full game
Funny how people would crowd around to watch this 10 years ago, yet we have charts out now that are 3x harder and everybody in the arcade just walks past the machine yawning.

You're not an ordinary fella.
This impressiveness is compounded by the fact he isn't using the bar to brace himself to make sure he has bio-feedback to see if he's in place for his steps.
Max 300 was a cute warm-up for ITG players :)
Respect for No-Bar tho..
True. I remember after playing 2 years of ITG, passing 12s and 13s doubles... I then went to them park which had DDR. I played double, picked Max300 (the only lvl 10 song of the game) and I passed it AAA without even sweating much :D My reaction was like "is this really it? the hardest song in the game?"
No bar? RESPECT!
I remember when 4th mix came to our local mall. I was in college and it was awesome. We had tournament and people would just stop and watch all the fun.

I’m 42 and can still pass “expert / heavy “ songs.
This happened to me once when I used to play at the Chicago Ridge Mall. I think it was like, 2003. I was playing Healing Vision Angelic Mix on Heavy. I looked behind me and had a crowd of people clapping after I passed. It felt great. Bring back DDR in American arcades!

Kinda sucks that nobody’s really that impressed anymore. I see people give a look that says, “oh, he plays all day at home, I guess” and walk away.
I always hate when crowds clap for me when I play PIU, DDR, ITG, etc...it's embarrassing as hell 'cause it's like...I'm not even dancing. I'm literally just hitting arrows with my feet, it isn't anything special. But to the general public, I suppose they view it as "Holy crap, how did he do that?!". Check this out - true story = freeek event.
In about 2001 - 2002 we had a company "fun day" at one of these arcade parks.
Since our company rented the whole place for the afternoon everything was free: bumper boats, pinball, the shoot the bad guys games, and..... Dance Dance Revolution.
So, I was like 50 years old, married, and had a kid at home so I was just staying "over there' playing this game where I was shooting bad guys. I had been playing it a long time and I was getting pretty good at saving the world when this young Woman I worked with comes up and says "Hey, you think you're good on that, I challenge you to Dance Dance"
- apparently she was "The Queen of Dance Dance".
I'm like "No that's ok" because she wasn't wearing much and you know, I just wanted to shoot a bunch of bad guys, cop a free lunch, and go home.
But, now there's a couple dozen co-workers there taunting me, so I have to go dance dance (we had a little over 150 people there, more on that later).
Pardon me if this sounds rude, but the music starts and we start competing and, ya, she's "bouncing" a lot. I'm trying to not look and man this is awkward.
I beat her, actually I smoked her on the first challenge and the rest is a blurred memory.
The music starts going faster and faster and she bouncin' all over like there's no tomorrow and not just on top, we're going so damn fast every part of her is bouncing. The entire company has gathered around because me, the old guy is totally blowing the Dance Dance Queen away, and I'm thinking all I want is for this to end.
Now this s#*t's gotten out of control and she's yelling/taunting me so I HAVE to look at her, forcing myself to focus on her face or the Dance Dance screen thing.
I'm freekin' dying inside, man, all I want is the free lunch and then go home and play with my kid and our beagle but nooo, I'm trapped in this crazy Caligula inspired insanity.
Now everyone is chanting "MANIAC MANIAC" and I had the focus of Zen monk going between her taunting face and the screen thing because I have to, I mean geeez, she's a super attractive fit young Woman that's not wearing much = her body parts flyin' all over the place = and I was a happily married family guy that did puppets and stuff for the kids at church, ya know?
- I mean, is this God or Satan tormenting me, or both, are both God & Satan both laughing it up at my expense???!!!
Eventually....EVENTUALLY it all ends with me breaking the park record.
Everyone is telling me I'm some kind of Dance Dance God, she's telling me I'm insane, and I'm think "no, I just want to eat and bolt, actually, screw the food, I just want to bolt".
I really don't think I could just hop on one of those things and do it again, like I said, it was a freeeek event.
- kinda like when the Grandmother picks up the car because the kids stuck under it, or something: I don't know.
However, I am now legend in our company!!!
