- Cyril is my favourite player and I was gutted to hear about his retirement but wow, what a career! I made this video using info from websites & CZcams Clips. I'll try and link them all below.

As a cats fan he did break a few cats fans hearts when he was on fire kicking bags of goals he was a great player and an all time great probably one of the best indigenous player as well

Sad day not only for hawks fans but all footy fans. Probably the most exciting player I have ever seen, one of the very few players who can be BOG with less than 15 touches. Legend!
Remember when he was BOG against Collingwood with 10 touches 5 goals??? Incredible talent.

Geez...I've been so lucky. As I watched this package I realised I saw most, almost all, of these highlights in person. What a career Cyril had. So pleased he played for the greatest club in the AFL....you all know which club that is. Hands down, no argument needed....the Mighty Fighting Hawks!!!

The day Cyril Rioli retired every other team in the AFL breathed a sigh of relief, even watching these tapes you knew he was a one of a kind champion who brought the magic to the game week in week out.

People keep damning him with faint praise. Why call him one of the greatest indigenous players of all time? Nobody ever refers to Jim Stynes as one of the best Irish players of all time or Leigh Matthews as one of the greatest white players of all time. Cyril was simply the best. Can you think of another player who could compile such a highlight reel? I can't.

You can see him play in N.T, only thing is he's in a bombers jumper. He's still young so lets hope he comes back but he's gonna be hard to get back from his family and island life.

I just found out that Maurice Rioli is Willie Rioli's uncle. It's good to know the Rioli name will continue playing for years to come.
Dean, Maurice and Cyril are his uncles, and Willie's his cousin.

@Game Geek - I'll just clear this up for you mate. The Riolis are a big family that had all these talented & renowned football brothers but only the 2nd eldest uncle Maurice went all the way. Dean, Cyril & Willie are the sons of 3 of his brothers while Daniels father is Deans brother so he is their nephew & grandson. 🙂👍🏽
