The rhythm you set up made it sound almost like a reggae version. Great how you fly alongside the original, just to break away like a jet fighter to take it up to new dimensions, just to return into sight of the original whenever you want. Sounds like a complex masterpiece, composed for weeks or what not. Brilliance.

Yes, "What It is", outstanding, from Mark K after Dire Straits. The man made superb suggestions, like "What It Is," and "Sultans" on Alchemy, and Leo Kottke. Dovydas -- I'm impressed and enjoy so much how you take the song and artist's style and take off with it, jazz improv. From the title, I thought Mark Knopfler himself was going to walk up and smile. In a way, he did.
The guy isnt wrong. The alchemy concert version is absolutely incredible! Knopfler crushes that show. You also kill this.

DOVYDAS you are what I call a once in a lifetime musician. There are musicians out there that been playing their entire lives and you put them to shame. Your raw talent is unbelievable. In watching some of your videos especially the ones where you went to Nashville to make a recordings I see all the famous people on the walls and wonder just when your picture will be added. I'd like to hear him play something where he doesn't vaporize them, like Sultans of Swing. Even if he works on in it for some time before, more restrained and more economy of notes, more melodic, more in the style of Knopfler or classic rock guitarist, more thought out, to say the same thing as Dovydas wants to say but with fewer notes. If he is as good a guitarist as he first appears he would kill it that way too.
This imo is just awful. This isn't showing guitar skill at all. No chord structure no timing no nothing. He's bucking for a reason. Killed this track.

I listened and is still listening to this piece of music. It is my opinion that this is one of the greatest pieces of music I've heard.
Saw Dire Straits when they just released their 3rd album. It was in a theater and I was 4 rows back. Watching Mark play so effortlessly left me in jaw dropping awe.

Man I was born in that town. A long time ago. Worked for the FD for 13 years back when the city had their own Fire Department, and was stationed out on St. Armands many times. If you would have been out there playing like that when I was there. I'd still be there. That was awesome!

I'm 24 and don't have any friends who listen to Dire straits or Pink Floyd, my top 2 favourite bands ever.
When this gentleman mentioned What is is and alchemy version, it felt SO GOOD to know there are others with the same taste of music as me. I share the same passion for Mark Knopfler as this guy and I agree with him. Alchemy version is the best solo I have ever heard.
