I may have never heard an orchestral accompaniment for this aria so much as Renée Fleming deserves as this was 💎 Unforgettable all.
I can feel the orchestra is not just an accompaniment but the Liu's identity and emotion, soul itself. The orchestra was done very beautifully and renee is astonishing as always

This was beautifully done. Pale and shimmering with enough chest voice. Not huge but emotionally effective and clean.

nessun dorma is the tenor's aria. No female has ever sung it except Aretha Franklin, but that was not opera

Aquí, si que está perfecta. Se demuestra que cantando a Puccini sabe hacerlo muy bien, dignamente. Lo contrario ocurre, cuando intenta cantar belcanto, es un error.

I read the positive and negative posts. My $0.02: Wouldn't if be boring if we all were subjected to one of every thing, no variance, no style, same inflections. OK, so Fleming didn't sing "in questa reggia," so what.

We'll see the Second Coming before we hear Fleming sing "In questa reggia." Or Salome's final aria, for that matter. I'm fond of Renee, too, but she is past taking chances like those.
So post a video of you singing in questa reggia.
I wish I could really get into her, but I can’t. Excellent vocal instrument, but her vocal antics sick as gasping, sliding into notes, and fake sobbing make her ultimately irritating, to me. Still, I agree she has done some beautiful pieces.
Stephen Fletcher I know what you mean she has lyrical instrument not very expressive and true but so many people like her I don't know why. My favorite lyric of all time was Ileana cotrubas. Very expressive and true have you heard her? She sang at the Met 1977 towards the end of her career she's very big in Europe. Underrated in America. Listen to her let me know what you think. A Dusky soprano voice beautiful top voice childlike quality innocent so telling and true. Her Traviata is excellent. My wife bought it for me before that she got butterfly with Mirrella Freni . And Domingo I think she does a really good job she never performed it on stage I don't believe that's my favorite butterfly. La Boheme Ileana cotrubas never recorded it sad to say. I have the Mirella freni Pavarotti version it's good she portrays the character very well gets into it. I like leontyne price for as in as well. It's on CZcams the entrance scene she gets a high D. Incredible voice. Enjoy I can't listen to this I'm going to bed bye don't get insulted out there I'm not making any accusations about Renee's voice. She's too much Scottish I think they don't have big voices Janet Baker I love her voice he was basically a recital performer she did the Messiah Vivaldi's Gloria as an alto soprano. Incredible beautiful voice I got hooked in high school. I've served her CDs great diction Lieder Etc I would recommend her Federica von Stade is my wife's favorite mezzo-soprano. Mozart's Cosi is with cotrubas te kanawa von Stade it's excellent they complement each other so well it's on CZcams entire Opera from Glenbourne excuse my typos I use the microphone can make a comment I'm tired of going to bed enjoy ARNOLD BOURBON AMARAL
Well, don't come back to this channel. Personally, I like to hear AND see how different singers or musicians sing or play a piece of music. To each his own.
This is one of the easiest arias to sing for a soprano and "Signore ascolta" is one of the most difficult ones.
